Angelo IaconettiGreat Podcast, No BSIf you prefer your news stories spoon-fed in a plain vanilla fashion that is easily digestible and seldom elicits a healthy critical inspection of the issues, then this is not the show for you. Once again, Cam and Ray have delivered a stimulating, thought-provoking discourse through their podcast The BS Filter. The hosts take on recent news stories as well as events from the not so distant past- dissecting the popularly held narratives and offering different perspectives to the immense benefit of the listener. Subscribers of the show will rapidly find themselves henceforth compelled to question the motives of the public, politicians, and mainstream media outlets alike. Do you want the truth? Then stop wasting your time, and subscribe to this show. The small subscription cost is a non-factor when weighed against what is certain to be a newfound ability to witness the world as it truly exists. I have been a long-time listener of all of Cam and Ray’s brilliant array of shows, but I must admit, The BS Filter is quickly becoming my favorite. Just kidding; they are all my favorites! Go check it out!

WeatherIowanThese guys are funny, but their views are naive and not well foundedToo bad Ray is a naive righty who falls for Cameron's naive views of the world. One of you needs to actually understand politics and have read basic facts before you make up third grade views of the world. This show will make it hard for me to listen to the History of WWII pod, where Ray drops the arrogant Cameron, and does great work. Their naive views are funny when they make up stuff about Rome or other ancient history, it gets dangerous when their ill-formed views support Trump and Russia views of the West. Their understanding of politics is about as worthwhile as their understanding of the metric system, as they cant even get a basic miles to kilometers conversion correct in the latest epsode. Remember, you are listening to idiots can be funny, until it isn’t.

Pho. Bolo. H.InsightfulA unique take on what is going on in the world. Very current with views expressed which try to go behind the surface. Not right, not left, just in the messy middle. Well worth a listen.

Patrick from ChicagoIn Their ElementAnother Cam & Ray show to look forward to. This truly is Cam in his element, he no longer needs to have a historical timeline that he jumps out of to start ranting about a current event: he can now fully focus on that current event! Alas, I wouldn't recommend all the Ray & Cam podcasts to everyone, but I would recommend the Castro Obituary episodes (the unofficial start of this show?) to all. Extremely good listen and eye-opening to hear Cam tear through the Western propoganda of a highly established American newspaper regardless of any of your beliefs. Syria was good, and gun-control was a nice little dabble. I don't know when or if a solution will come to the US, but I can say at least in Chicago there is definitely a strong desire from the majority of the city to end the gang violence. That said there is a reason St. Jude, Patron Saint of Hopeless Cases, is also the patron saint of the Chicago Police Department. Keep up the good work!

OtakuBeatA podcast for intelligent peopleA podcast where we find out that you are BS, I am BS, and most of all that Cam and Ray, are BS. This is a great podcast for people that are looking for intelligent people actually looking at these issues from multiple sides, historically, and all while cracking wise. BS filter 'cast telling it all as it is, two lovers they be. Cam, lyrical tangents 'bound Ray, to reign the erstwhile friend.

JedibluesYou'll never listen to American news media again! With Cam laying down the the facts like few can, and Ray playing the part of the naive schoolboy, the BS Filter tells the story of Syria's troubles in a way that CNN couldn't manage on it's best day. By telling the truth!

jafnharThe deep diveThis podcast is dedicated to explaining current events. The real strength is that Cam and Ray spend a lot of time on the background of events. The first series is on the Syrian Civil War and they didn’t start talking about the war until episode ten. I don’t think they even talked about the modern Syrian state for the first several episodes. This is not wasted time! Most anyone listening to a podcast on current events will be familiar with the basics of the Syrian Civil War. I’ve learned more from the background these guys have provided. For instance, if you had asked me a few weeks back what an Alawite is, I would have said “some sort of Shiite Muslim”. It turns out to be more complicated than that, and I learned it from this podcast. And if you had asked me about the current president/dictator of Syria I would have said “he’s the Alawite with the bangin’ wife whose dad had been in charge too.” You’ll learn so much more about the Assad clan, the Ba’ath party, and the power structure of Syria before the civil war – all of it vital to understanding what’s happened since the beginning of the war. I’m not necessarily on board with their philosophy of history and politics. Cam, I think, tends to see ideologies and religions not so much as the causes of conflict, but as the excuses to compete for resources and power. This is true in many respects. But I think it may be worthwhile to take even official state ideologies more seriously, because philosophical ideas mix with crasser motivations in complex ways to produce sometimes unexpected results in world history. Realpolitik does not explain everything. But that’s a suggestion, not a criticism. Great podcast!

AtlscgradIf you like going deepFolks if you have not listened to Ray and Cam's other podcasts well you should. But this one is a good introduction to their fun style and educated Pontificating. Cam keeps an open mind on almost everything which allows for an unbiased view on the subject matter. Plus his love of music has reawakened my own. Ray jumps in as needed and provides good overviews and throws in the occasional inappropriate joke to keep the hits coming. Great topic to start with. Download and listen!

AndrewIfallalotThis is the perfect format for a Cam and Ray PodcastIf you're familar with the other Cam and Ray podcasts, the BS Filter will feel very familiar, and that is a good thing. I feel like this is going to be the perfect format in order for the guys to expound their opinions while giving a good historical foundation. Since they don't have to stick to a single subject, they can explore any topic they want Cam and Ray style. So if you like great historical knowledge, strong opinions, 80s music out of nowhere, and jokes about man-on-man sex in Las Vegas, you'll love this. The only suggestion I have is to bring back the negative reviews for this. The opinions expressed in this podcast are sure to piss off your average patriotic Murican, so the entertaining reads and dissents of the negative reviews will be highly entertaining, just like back in the Queen of Bythinia days

SchitkickerCross the streamsAs if they had not already done enough for humanity with their priceless and incomparable examinations of the Caesars, Alexander and the Cold War, the self-proclaimed godfather of podcasts, Cameron "Wallaby" Reily, and Mr world war 2, Ray "Mini Me" Harris have finally debuted their first contemporary history endeavor. Given the in depth yet light hearted dalliances of their early shows, the BS Filter guaranteed to be as informative as it is entertaining for years to come. That or they are just slowly diversifying in a not so subtle attempt to marshal their forces and pull Sulla that will no doubt leave our children's children their clients and vassals for generations to come. Whatev's.

SethadenfeldtBest thought provoking / history / current events / guy love podcasters out there - No bull!Love their take on current events - they've pulled together info and present it in a way that encourages thought and challenges what you've heard in the news. I'm constantly looking for new books to read as these guys cover different ideas and angles. Check out their other podcasts for even deeper dives into history.

alontatsasCam and Ray BS their way through current eventsAs if it was not enough that these two were BS-ing their way through history, both distant and recent, now they are bringing their unique brand of podcasting to current events. And I am loving it! Living in these times we all need an honest pile of bull sh.. to get us through the day. You will get it here. No pretense, say it as it is, with a touch of Australian bravado offset by southern gentlemen manner (you got to listen to know which one is which) these two have been my favorites commute companions for years. Give it a try and you will never go back to the "failing fake news media"
