    Going back to this well
So fun to listen now many years after this project launched. Still fresh and enjoyable to hear the reviews, reflections, and thoughtful discussions. Hoping the boys gather again to close the series out with a review of the Oils’ final contributions both new, and the box sets. But, even if this closure not to be, it doesn’t take away at all from what these two Canadians achieved in this not-so short run podcast. Gen X peak middle aged work here.

    Thanks for making me smarter
I will forever be grateful to Darren Foulds for passing on the information that this line from "King of the Mountain" is a reference to the Aboriginal flag: "Yellow-bellied black snake sleeping on a red rock, waiting for the stranger to go." That is completely brilliant, and should have been obvious, but I didn't realize it until he woke me up.

Old Pals Compliment Old Complaint Rock
Two boyhood chums, now in their fortymumble years, relive the joys of their shared Midnight Oil fandom, their decades of friendship, and their own musical talents. A great series even if you don’t particularly care for Australian complaint rock.

    Thank you!
If you love Midnight Oil you will love this podcast. They are fans but not sycophants. Always a fun listen, sometimes laugh out loud funny, sometimes downright thought-provoking, never a waste of time.

    Fantastic!
A thorough review of the Oils catalog conducted by two charmingly humorous Canadian blokes. A fun way to hear new things in songs we all know so well!

The best pod about Midnight Oil
I'm not sure these guys even like Midnight Oil! Either way, I have enjoyed listening to these Canucks all Summer. Robin and Darren are longtime Oils fans and good friends. They are funny and go off on some wild tangents but their MO and music knowledge has been a joy to rediscover and relate to. Recommended.

    Tons o' fun
Thoroughly enjoying this limited run podcast. While I am a big Midnight Oil fan (it helps to be one certainly) I'm particularly charmed by Darren and Robin's banter and thoughtfulness (it's true, Canadians really are nice). Gets pretty nerdy and detailed but that's also a big part of its appeal. Download it, what else do you have to listen to/watch this summer? Except Game of Thrones.

    No Short Memories here
For a fan of Midnight Oil, this podcast is a must. Darren and Robin are two old friends who have been fans of the band for many years. They are also musicians and I find that their knowledge of bass and drums in particular are very helpful to their evaluations of the songs. They give you a lot of the back story of the recording of the albums, little tidbits about the band, of Australian history, of their experiences over the years with the Oils, and their banter is fun and insightful. Sometimes they have a good laugh at the expense of themselves and it's a delight to laugh along with them. Darren and Robin are reviewing live albums too and even a concert that they attended this year (Toronto). We are all glad that the Oils are back and this podcast adds to the experience. Give it a shot, eh?

    The talk talk talkers
As a longtime MO fan, it is refreshing & enlightening to hear Robin & Darren's take on all things Oil. I especially enjoy hearing their musician's perspective on the drum & bass bits from each album. If you're a casual listener or a lifelong Oils devotee, I highly recommend finding a Comfortable Place on the Couch!
