Arts and Health Episode w/ Renae Fleming
I’m sorry but, when it comes to Arts and Health, Renae Fleming must have been living underneath a rock till just now. Many hospitals around LA county have been incorporating Various forms of artistic expression with healthcare for many years. For example CHLA has had “Artists in residence” working with their pediatric patients for well over 15 years. There are also various artists who are creating art through their medical diagnosis. I personally launched a storytelling show Nurses and Hypochondriacs storytelling in 2015 and have produced 14 live storytelling performances. A podcast The Nurses and Hypochondriacs Podcast with episodes focused on opera and Tuberculosis.. the contagion that Puccini made famous. This is nothing new… Good luck with getting insurance companies to fund this. I can tell you know nothing about what’s actually going on in the healthcare world. Many doctors are no longer seeing patients who have a negative balance or who have not paid their copay. Hospitals in the east coast are refusing care to patients who owe money. Just because you hang with a few researchers you suddenly think you’re ideas are novel… gurl… they are not… please do your research. 😵

    LA opera podcasts are terrific
I only listen to podcasts that I feel are 5 stars. This might sound pretty strict or narrow, finding the time to enjoy podcasts is always an issue. But these podcasts are definitely worth the effort. Informative and entertaining. I’m never disappointed.

Great podcast for opera lovers and opera newcomers
This is a great podcast! Wide variety of topics and I feel like I learn something whenever I listen. The speakers always make me feel like I’m right there in the room. I loved the American Opera series and it made me excited about Omar. I’m looking forward to the season.

    Thank you James Conlon
James Conlon’s pre-show lectures have been invaluable for my deepening love and appreciation of opera, so stumbling upon this podcast has been a revelation. He provides fantastic context with a charming delivery. Truly one of LA’s shining jewels.

One of the 2 best opera podcasts out there!
Along with Aria Code, this is the best opera podcast I’ve found. James Conlon is the perfect host; incredibly knowledgeable, but he ‘wears it lightly.’ I love his enthusiasm, but even more, his gifts as a teacher. Bravo, bravo from a ‘die-hard’ NYer who is intensely loyal to her beloved Met. I can’t wait to get to LA again to come hear you live.

    Best Opera Podcast Out There
I might be biased because this is my home opera company, but for my money, this is the best opera podcast out there. Whether it's taking you behind the scenes of their on-stage productions, sharing Maestro James Conlon's pre-show talks, or unpacking the larger societal and cultural contexts of the art form, this podcast is not to be missed.

    Bravo LA Opera!
It’s a treat to spend time with the artists and scholars who pull back the curtain on my favorite art form.

    One of my favorite podcasts
An intellectually stimulating and thought-provoking podcast for musical artists and fans of all genres. A great way to learn more about the inner-workings and people behind the opera world in Los Angeles.
