    Love everything about this podcast
This podcast has it all - knitting, crochet, spinning and sewing peppered with useful tips for living your best life. Dr. Gemma has it all. Dr. Gemma is relatable, kind, and thoughtful, and so can always count on having a good time listening while I’m doing something crafty of putting on the earbuds and listening while catching up on tasks around the house. 100% recommend!

Dangerous old entitled white woman!!! Find something better!
I want to love Dr. Gemma’s podcast and if I were someone who didn’t care about substance and only focused on entertainment, I would be able to ignore her seriously problematic statements and approach. From recalling The Black Panther movies as the ‘Wakanda movies’ to ignoring her privilege in statements about her finances to critiquing everything from books to podcasts from a point of how it made her feel without addressing her position in whether or not she’s even a part of the demographic or for more serious issues, attacking others’ works but not citing any factual sources; it’s a podcast that I have tried to love and given countless attempts to get it right, but at this point she comes across as a very lazy white woman who is complicit in her privilege as she doesn’t do any research, doesn’t show she cares about current events and can’t be bother in her rather lofty life. *******UPDATE!!!!!****** I spent the last year listening to Dr. Gemma and giving her a fair chance and yet all I have done and gathered are notes on how dangerous this old white woman is. She uses this platform to make herself feel better because she can’t handle not being the smartest person in the room and honestly she seems to want to go back to the regency era where cis white people were in charge and if ANYTHING is out of line with “history” she hates it and poo poo’s it. On top of that she uses her white privilege to ease her guilt through philanthropy. Whether it’s getting a dog she can’t afford while thanking her followers for paying for it, or taking her own way through ASL classes and doing what she believes is the “right” way, instead of actually taking the time to learn about another group, OR blasting that she and her husband or LGBTQIA+ friendly because they’re so lazy they can’t use proper pronouns for their dog and would rather claim they have a trans dog(and by so doing insult the community), she just comes across as an old entitled white woman who can’t handle not being the smartest brain in the room when in fact she’s just offensively dangerous to minorities and taking advantage of the people she claims to be friends with (the knitmores for example whom work hard to actually be inclusive) and Dr Gemma will proudly say “I don’t care” about things she can’t be bothered about. This podcaster should be taken off air and humbled to actually learn a thing or two instead of using people and making disgusting statements without regard to the real harm she’s causing. Maybe she needs to return to the past where he ideas and entitled self could thrive. Until then find a different podcast that is modern and truly inclusive instead of hiding behind degrees and entitlement.

    Loved this podcast!!
I really enjoyed listening to this when resting and working on my craft project. I just wanted to say thank you for accurately sharing that the Wednesday snood is not a true snood, but an oversized infinity scarf. I have very long hair and use snoods on a regular basis. People are constantly “correcting “ me and telling me that I am not wearing a snood, but no one seems to be able to tell me what I am wearing. I learned to make a simple snood from my Amish foster mother and have many colors, some fancy, some plain. Most of what I see labeled as a snood is usually an oversized cowl. But anyway, I enjoy the information and tips onthis podcast.

    Enjoyable
Ok, I would’ve written this directly to Dr Gemma, but didn’t know how to get in touch. This podcast is enjoyable and feels like sitting and catching up with a friend! However….. as a canine professional (CPDT-KA), I was so soooo crushed to hear how she and the husband deal with Captain’s potty issues. I definitely recommend branching out your studies and learning more about canine cognition. They simply, unequivocally, cannot be “reminded” that you are mad because she peed in the house. Even immediately. Your timing would have to be PERFECT (which we sick at). In research specifically on punishment with remote trainers, a 20 sec gap between behavior and punishment only had 20 PERCENT efficacy. So… I highly recommend you look at Dog Star Daily, read some research done by Esther Schalke, etc. Other than that, keep up the great podcast!!

    So much goodness!
I love listening to Dr Gemma! Her intimate, chatting-with-a-friend style, knitting and crochet content that’s neither too simple nor intimidating, generous wellness tips, and personal stories/opinions are absolutely wonderful — cozy and entertaining. Also, these longer episodes make me so happy. There’s no such thing as too much CogKNITive!

    So very worthwhile
I just listened to Dr Gemma’s advice for coping with post insurrection anxiety. Though not an anxious person by nature, I’ve been experiencing some anxiety this past week and really appreciate Gemma’s many coping strategies. Thank you Gemma, from @potchke! 😌
