ChelephantRespect Denise, guysI was excited to listen to this differently structured twin peaks podcast at first, but the hosts are a bit insufferable. I’m sure they’re perfectly nice people, but the best way I can put it is that they say a lot of words with not a lot of meaning. One of them keeps slightly misusing the word “encroach” (it’s not completely incorrect, just obvious that he doesn’t fully understand the word but thinks it sounds good). Also, they refer multiple times to coffee and logs as the “core of the twin peaks mythology.” I don’t know if maybe they were being a bit ironic, because obviously, even though there’s some deeper stuff down the line with these things, they are some of the more surface-level, quirky, aesthetic things that fans like about the show. In general it seemed like their interest in the show was more in that vein, and their analysis was uninteresting to me. Ultimately, I stopped listening when they referred to Denise Bryson as “Dennis…..I mean Denise” (haha very funny), using he pronouns the whole time and praising David Duchovny’s “great comic performance” in the role. Denise is actually a pretty likable, interesting character, and I just don’t think she’s funny. I’m not sure why these two do… I don’t know if maybe this is something they revisited down the line, obviously people can always change. Anyways, I guess this just isn’t the Twin Peaks podcast for me. Maybe I’ll check in again and listen to their episode about Judy sometime.

Armineh29What a treat!I stumbled upon this gem of a podcast a couple of months ago. I rewatched The Return, then Seasons 1, 2 and Fire Walk with Me. I reread Secret History of Twin Peaks and the Final Dossier and then I had a Twin Peaks withdrawal. I needed something intelligent, meaningful and interesting to fill the void. This podcast is absolutely fantastic. Thank you Jeff Jensen and Darren Franich for the deep insights and your humor.

ChagrinshawThe ReturnI've listened to this podcast thru sveral times. I love their take and analysis of the show. Extremely enjoyable to listen to. Really wish I would have been on Twitter when it initially aired to join in on the discussions.

yeahYepYepyeahRambling nonsenseThese guys (or really just one of them) just bland on and on and on but says nothing. They just talk about how amazing Twin Peaks is, but there is zero analysis. Trash podcast
-
Nurse RisaTwin Peaks, The ReturnI am re-watching Twin Peaks, The Return and really appreciating this podcast (for the second time, snd most likely not the last time). Hopefully these guys will continue to mull over their thoughts and share with us in the years to come.

Strange FollowerEndless Self IndulgenceFilm school dicks up their own butts. I wanted to hear about the show not your opinion and review. Bad podcast for sure. They kept finding excuses to spout repetitive praise.
-
Steveholt_tslBest TP podcast out thereI enjoyed my first journey through season 3 listening to each of their recaps after watching an episode. It made my enjoyment of the whole experience enhanced. Thank you!
-
ipodtmanWelcome backGood to have a 30th anniversary show on episode one. I’d forgotten much of the international version. Will have to check it out again. Look forward to your return, whenever it might be.
-
RunnAmuckSLove it!! However—Would love to know Jeff and Darren’s reaction to Twin Perfect’s 4.5 hour “Twin Peaks Actually Explained” video on Youtube!! Thank you, guys!!!!!!!!!
-
Montabano1Darren Franich is a fraudI listened to the first 10 seconds of the podcast and skipped to the end. Just like how Darren does his reviews. Stop supporting this clown

arcadesonfirePLEASE bring back this showENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY! Please please please bring back this show. Art19.com says it has left their platform, but the show still has a purpose to serve. If you don’t want to pay for ads, then please make it available for purchase.

Sassy PersonDid you listen to this?I hope you did. Because it was an informative companion to the third season of the show. The highlight was Damon Lindeloff coining the phrase “hobo massage”.
-
howardandgary10 Stars !If you are a true Twin Peaks the Return fan, then this is the most intelligent, analytical, concise and entertaining podcast available for Twin Peaks. 5 stars isn't enough. After almost two years of listening to every podcast and youtube video available for Twin Peaks analysis, I believe that this podcast is superior to them all. I wish they would write a book about Twin Peaks---- I would buy it in a second.
-
Temple runner @ #1Great insight!Always look forward to hearing you guys take apart and explain this series. Can’t wait to hear next year’s episode!

*Longtime Print Subscriber*Great to Have You Back!!!This was the 1st podcast I found after watching all of the Return - when my mind was completely scrambled - and this pod helped me process & contextualize so much of what was going on. My eternal thanks to them & so happy to see them back!! Twin Peaks forever 👍
-
HaleyBabyyThe best companion to the returnSpot on, funny and insightful. Loved having this pod as a companion throughout my journey

jeremymetandersonMeta Meta MetaA few insights to the show, but one guy says "meta" in every other sentence, so I can really listen to him anymore.

Stagger Lee25 years is a lot to remember and take in when it comes to Twin Peaks. This podcast helps. This podcast has been pretty helpful in understanding the return of Twin Peaks (season 3). It's a little too deep in describing what each character says in each scene when brevity would suffice. Otherwise, they get into it and share reasonable theories and explanations of the Twin Peaks universe(s). Helped me put my own thoughts together. They also have access to authors, actors, and critics who help with the ambiguity of it all. Well done.

Space Matt JFor others that are obsessed like meThese guys love twin peaks more than almost anybody and they score some pretty heavy guests

EnzoFTI’m at one hundred percent !Great job guys, your Podcast has amplified one hundred percent! my Twin Peaks viewing and post viewing experience

MathMomLooked forward to this every weekNot sure how I heard about this podcast, but what a joy it was. Two guys, with incredible knowledge of all things Lynch and Peaks, obviously enjoying each other’s company. As a listener, I laughed along, had my own theories (often wrong) and was able to deepen my knowledge of what Lynch might be doing in season 3. I looked forward each week to Darren & Jeff’s comments, after I’d watched the episode. I watched the original series as it unfolded in 1990. I haven’t rewatched it (yet) so the weekly podcast provided commentary and connections as a refresher to the original. I was fortunate to see Fire Walk with Me on the big screen during season 3. Big thanks to Darren & Jeff for this terrific set of podcasts.

mrhappy0121Lots to choose fromI don’t listen to every show but the SmackDown podcast is outstanding it’s nice hearing immediate feedback on my favorite prime time wrestling show
-
TimBaronArtAMAZING PODCASTI had no idea what was going on in Twin Peaks S3 until I listened to these guys. Totally provided me a context to understand what was going on and spur me on to learn more. Actually relistening to these all now as well. Great job guys! You are excellent hosts!
-
CC/MDSad it's overI really enjoyed listening to this podcast and hate it's over! You guys did a great job.
-
theabe20001st stop after each TP episodeI thought Twin Peaks season 3 was wonderful, but one of my favorite parts of the experience was engaging with Jeff and Darren afterward. I didn't know what to expect from an EW podcast, but they showed themselves to be smart, funny fans of TP and Lynch. Now that season 3 is done, I consider myself a fan of Jeff and Darren's works, too. Nice work to everyone involved in this podcast!
-
Lia2357gA Necessary Companion to TP:TRJeff and Darren provide thoughtful and insightful commentary that will enhance your understanding of this brilliant, confounding masterpiece. This podcast is a must for the true Lynch fan.
-
HockeyMac87Oh my garmonbozia! These guys are as entertaining of characters as those in Twin Peaks. Their absurdly in-depth nerding analysis of the show makes me love it even more. Grab a cup of coffee and start your morning right. Can't wait to see what these guys do next.
-
Clash of clans is awesome!Love this podcast!I listen to this everyday when I'm getting ready in the morning. It's been a fantastic season listening to Doc and Darren and the guests. I will really miss them!

Mark WhiteleyBrought so much to my TP experienceI must admit at first I was skeptical of Entertainment Weekly taking on this cult-classic material which over the decades has become such lore and close to the hearts of many less-than-mainstream minds, but I was won over by the quality of the thought behind this podcast very quickly. I watched the original series as a teenager and it stayed with me ever since, even going so far as visiting filming locations, so suffice to say it's near and dear. I had veryhigh hopes for the return, and do not feel let down by what was delivered. However, I must say that this podcast contributed to my interest in and understanding of the new episodes and ideas within it in a very siginificant way, to the degree that I feel it would have been a very different emotional and intellectual experience without it. After a few episodes of the podcast, I truly came to look forwards to the new ones each week to help me consider what I had seen in a deeper way. I was always entertained, informed and inspired through the entire stretch of the show, and want to give my thanks for the quality of content the hosts brought each week. I'm sad to see it come to an end, but maybe there are alternate timelines and realities in which it does not.
-
HeatherRae237Brilliant insight! Thanks for the insightGreat podcast guys !! You made the show so much more as a show that was incredible
-
Joker's LadyEssential for Peakies who need professional help and understandingWhen Twin Peaks: The Return began, I needed some kind of discussion with people who know Twin Peaks and don't just talk about it because it's "cool and hip." If discussion with friends or message boards leave you empty, this podcast will help you and agree with these guys who know their Lynch and know their Twin Peaks.
-
pupdonAmazingThis is one of the most insightful, interesting and well done podcasts about Twin Peaks I've heard. Darren and Jeff have a great rapport and bring a great amount of humor to the discussion as well as having done their research into linking conversations to earlier shows, the original series and Fire Walk With Me, as well as relating to other Lynch works. Really fun.

LixobabyAbsolutely the bestI can't thank these guys enough for such incredible commentary on Twin Peaks The Return. I am generally a cable cutter with zero interest in pop culture these days and subscribed to Showtime just for this experience. I tend to be an obsessive over a few good things (I watched Season 1 of True Detective three times consecutively) but ignore all else and drop if it ain't working for me anymore (House of Cards). So after the first few episodes I knew I needed a guide and this podcast was the one at the top of search. I figured I'd listen to it and another from the amateurs (Twin Peaks Rewatch). Binged-listened while on a 10 hour drive back from vacation. I figured I'd get some interviews the amateurs could not get (yes) but probably way more fluff. Right and wrong. Yes - EW access does mean you get the interviews, which I loved! But as for fluff? - this podcast massively, massively exceeded my expectations. First, the intelligence and coherence of the commentary - I mean just the sheer ability to maintain a continuous pace for HOURS. That alone makes me want to listen to what these guys do on any topic. I so enjoyed the humor, the insights, the prescience - it helped bring Lynch to life for me. I even liked the commercials! -- David Evans

LTab89Best Summer Ever! One if the best Twin Peaks Podcast and Podcast of all time! You guys took me along in the amazing adventure that was the summer of Twin Peaks Return. Week but week you guys helped me process and go even farther down the rabbit hole, smiling, laughing, and being amazed by the whole experience! Please don't wait another 25 years to get together again, hope to hear from you guys again soon.
-
Ron KershawThank YouThank you for helping clear things up after watching Twin Peaks. Sometimes i left more confused than when i started. I will miss your reviews! Heres to season 4.
-
bashnetThe Great WentThis podcast has been a pleasure to listen to. I hope is a truly the last one. They are super knowledgeable, concerning all things Twin Peaks and David Lynch. They are smart. They are funny. They conduct fantastic interviews with big time Twin Peaks people. I can't recommend this one enough. The Return hasn't ended for me, it's just beginning. If their last podcast was truly the last one, I'm a little sad as I will miss them. ...unless they really haven't started yet, because I'm slightly confused. Wait, what year is this?
-
Inline5.9Genuinely good guysThese two had the unenviable task of coming in as the big budget entertainment magazine- I think many long time fans and hipsters probably wrote them off for that very reason. However, I don't think it took too long for people to realize these guys were legitimate Twin Peaks fans, and that this podcast was one, if not the best (in my opinion). I listened to their last Twin Peaks podcast, and I have to admit that I'm sad that the show, and this podcast is over. I enjoyed the entertaining and lighthearted banter between these guys, and they knew their stuff too. Maybe not as nuts of a deep dive conspiracy theory as a few podcasts- but enough speculating/explaining/theorizing for me. I wanted to wish both of them the best going forward, and Jeff in his new endeavors. Thanks, and good luck!!
-
Mark MehallGreat ShowEven though these guys work for a big company they don't let it go to their egos and provide great analysis. You can tell they truly have a connection to the show.
-
agent desmondI love listening to these guys talk about Twin Peaks!Gonna miss this podcast!
-
NH PeakerThank you!I really enjoyed this podcast each week. Great insights throughout...although sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Thanks for bringing it to us!
-
rowlikewowGreat Times!I tried many of the Twin Peaks podcasts heading into the release of TP: The Return and ultimately settled onto this one. The hosts' genuine love of and enthusiasm for the show made the podcast fun and inviting. I really appreciated how responsible and measured they were with their analysis. You can really tell they put a lot of blood/sweat/tears into attempting to pull together an all-encompassing theory of Twin Peaks (or at least as much as can be reasonably expected). Gonna miss this podcast! The hosts developed really good chemistry with each other as the season progressed - it'd be great to have these two back for other shows or a general TV/Movie sort of podcast.
-
westvillagerTerrific podcast with 2 great hostsPerfect recap/thoughtful discussion blend. Darren and Jeff are great team. And the guests are awesome! One note: Jeff's retelling of the show's final moments pulled me away for a minute. When I returned I was sitting at a green light, cars honking behind me. Sorry, drivers. But thank you Darren and Jeff!

QuiltcoCan't Believe I Only Found This At The EndWhat an incredible format to discuss the complexities of Twin Peaks with two men who really know their lore. I seriously felt as if I were taking a college-level course in the different ways the very confusing two-hour finale could be interpreted- and I mean that in the best possible way! Dr. Jensen and Mr. Franich opened up my mind to possibilities that I hadn't considered before. And David Lynch works on that level of artistry- he wants the beholder to consider the quandary put before her, and not just jump to conclusions. Kudos to these men for helping me see more about the process. I'm going to re-watch the rest of the series and play each podcast as a companion piece. I know I'll gain even more from the experience! klaudikaluxSo enjoyable!Really enhanced my Twin Peaks experience. I could listen to these guys (and Damon Lindelof!) talk about anything for hours.

magnificentloreCoffee Time!A perfect re-cap/re-hash/de-briefing of Lynch & Frost's strange & beautiful world of Twin Peaks! Jeff & Darren drive down the dark winding roads with you and muse about the possible meanings of many of Twin Peaks' plot points & symbolism. Fantastic insights into the show & great reference points to outside works as well. Jeff & Darren, old friends, it's been yrev, very good to experience Twin Peaks with you. Thanks for a great podcast!

Belgian BearSo much fun!I had the chance to discover Twin Peaks when it aired in Belgium back in the early nineties. At the time, I watched the series dubbed in French...which retrospectively was truly an awful way to experience it! I was a senior in Graphic design and everything David Lynch was releasing back then was so revered by my teachers and fellow art students. I was literally devastated when I discovered that the series was ending on such a cliffhanger. When 'Fire walk with me' was released I hoped for some conclusion to the fate of my favorite FBI agent, but I really struggled with the dark and sad mood of the movie...which I grew to really like over time. I finally moved to the US, got slightly better with English, and then came 'Twin Peaks The Return', a true and unapologetic masterpiece of filmmaking. At first, I was nervous that this new chapter would fail to make me connect with the Twin Peaks characters the same way the original series did twenty-six years ago, but I was proven wrong straight from the first scene of episode one. The unique Lynchian imprint was all over the new season and I was ready for the ride once again. And boy was it a wild one! Along the way I discovered that Jeff and Darren were releasing a weekly podcast on 'the Return' and I started listening to them during my commute to work. Their passion and insight into the TW universe were so broad and entertaining that I could not wait to download the next episode every Tuesday morning. I must say that they brought the experience of watching Twin Peaks to an all other level for me. Thank you for such a quality podcast! I hope that you guys will continue debating about the series, hopefully into a fourth season.

AEhlenEssential, super entertaining analysis!I sit here halfway through your interview with Laura Dern and realize THIS MIGHT BE IT! I have enjoyed your podcast so much. Two weeks prior to the Twin Peaks: The Return premiere, my stepmother passed away after a long illness and I had to move my father into a retirement home due to his early onset Alzheimer's and take over his affairs. Life became very surreal, very quickly. Twin Peaks: The Return was the perfect show for me at the perfect time. It provided an amazing weekly escape that quickly became a highlight of my summer (once I learned to let go and drop my expectations of it). My only problem, no other friends were watching Twin Peaks in real time, so I had no one to discuss it with! Enter your podcast...I jumped into it a few weeks into the show but quickly burned through each one and caught up. Jeff & Darren have been so entertaining and have provided so much needed Twin Peaks analysis, which God knows, every Twin Peaks fan needs! I've looked forward to each podcast nearly as much as I have every new episode of the series. This is the first podcast ever that I HAD TO listen to the day it was released. I particularly enjoyed the finale recap and the Damon Lindelof follow up, which provided much needed catharsis from the series finale, which I wasn't wild about upon my initial viewing but am slowly coming around on, thanks to you three! Please continue more post-mortem podcasts. PLEASE???

EZawadaThe perfect guideListening to this podcast in unison with watching Twin Peaks: The Return should almost be required. Darren and Jeff caught so many moments that passed by me, and their interpretations on the depths of David Lynch's genius brought whole new appreciations to how great this show is (ex: Jeff's interpretation of Wally Brando's monologue was brilliant). For anyone who struggled with this season of Twin Peaks, I would HIGHLY recommend listening to this podcast. It was my favorite show of the year by far, and truthfully I think a huge part of my enjoyment of this show was set on track by this show. I hope we have more Twin Peaks in the future, and I hope Darren and Jeff will be back for another podcast!
