    The Best Spy-Related Podcast
My favorite episodes are “The Dead Drop 5”. But what’s just as impressive is the podcast’s Facebook group… I’ve never been part of an online community where authors and fans interact directly with one another. This is by far my favorite podcast!

    Fantastic show for spy fans!
I was completely hooked on Spybrary from the first time I listened. Host Shane Whaley is a clever and well-spoken interviewer, who takes his subject matter seriously but not overly so. Plus, he has a cool Welsh accent that helps set the mood. Some episodes cover deep dives into famous authors of the genre (e.g., Fleming and le Carre) while others include interviews with less well-known spy writers. Or, in the case of Jack Barsky, a very well-known actual spy. There's also much discussion of the crossover from books to film, especially as it relates to a certain Agent 007. The production values of Spybrary are excellent and each show moves along briskly, right down the "Lightning Round" of questions at the close. It's fun stuff, but even the most knowledgeable spy fan will learn something from each episode. I highly recommend it to any fan of spy books or movies.

    Source of Discovery
I love reading spy books, but I have limited free time, and I want to know a book will be good before I buy it. Through Spybrary, I have discovered a world of authors and adventures I would never have found on my own, and they are amazing! Just this past week I learned about The Bitter Past from a Dead Drop 5 episode and found myself staying up way too late reading an excellent story. Shane Whaley is a tremendous host, and I genuinely love his interview style. Shane also invites others in the Spybrary community to guest host and do brush pass reviews. It is so much more than a podcast, it is a welcoming community!

    Latest episode.
You might want to tell the narrator that is was proven false Trumps alignment with Russia as he stated. Immediately quit listening. Might want to educate himself.

I love everything about the Spybrary podcast. If you like spy novels, movies, non-fiction and movies, you should subscribe. This is the best place to get reviews and author interviews, including recent ones from Charles Cumming, David Brierly, Ben MacIntyre, Dan Fesperman, Adam Brookes, Olen Steinhauer and many more.

    Best Podcast around
I was a big podcast guy but migrated to audiobooks. But this is the one podcast that I do not miss. Shane Whaley, Matthew Bradford, and all the splendid spybrarians who host the podcast, are FANTASTIC.

    A Podcast Without An Equal
I have been following the Spybrary Podcast for a few years now, it’s Creator Shane Whaley and all of its contributors. If you have a penchant for espionage films, books, stories and history in general, Spybrary is a must listen. The production quality is superb and the caliber of guests are like none other. Spybrary is my decompression mechanism after a long day at work or for entertainment on my walks, runs and long drives. As an admitted spy addict, I can’t recommend Spybrary enough!

    I Always Learn Something New
I’m a late arrival to the Spybrary fan club but I have enjoyed catching up and I always learn something new and valuable. I was already a big fan of LeCarre and Greene, but I have learned about new authors like Mick Herron and Paul Vidich. And I have even re-watched some episodes of The Prisoner! This is a great podcast and Shane is a great host. I highly recommend it.

    Bond Books Are Back!
Awesome! Hopefully the series delay was not due to bad news for the hosts. Great job team on the episode! In the spirit of the show... I suspect this book series could turn to film, but the producers probably will turn Bond into a womanizing superhero! But the books, Fleming is doing some great character development for Bond, especially in the final chapters... In love with Vesper who was actually a villain...frolicking on the beach with Solitaire...what happened to her? Then, and then in Moonraker, Bond doesn’t get the girl! What, he’s human? What a twist from Fleming! I hope he writes another book :-)

    Intelligent, reasonable espionage
It’s great to hear intelligent men talking about espionage who are not homophobes or misogynists or idiots. Great suggestions for what to read, and great to listen to while relaxing.

    Fun and Insightful
I recently stumbled upon this podcast, and I enjoy Shane's interviews. I've been cherry picking the many episodes in the pod's backlog, and it's offered some great stuff that's added to my "To Be Read" list.

    Every Episode a "Must Listen"
I subscribe to between 85-100 podcasts at a time, over a wide spetrum of interests. Spybrary is one of the few pods I absolutely must listen to each episode of, under headphones or in the car so no distractions. Shane Whaley clearly conveys his passion, but of even greater service, he brings out similar love and knowledge and sharing from his interview guests, and the listeners via the active Spybrary social media presence. If you love to read spy and espionage fiction, good thrillers, or have an interest in the Cold War, Spybrary should be your home.

A “must listen” podcast for fans of spy fiction
A disclaimer at the top, Shane Whaley Spybrary‘s host has had me on the show a few times. With that out of the way, I have to say that as a spy fan this is the podcast I’ve been waiting for. It focuses on spy fiction primarily and features in depth discussions on some of the great writers in the past as well as talking with current writers and fans. Well worth listening to if you’re a fan of spy books.

    This is fantastic!
My exposure to this literary world is limited. I mostly watch spy movies and only recently started diving in by reacquainting myself with 007 in book form. This podcast is excellent. Shane is an entertaining and engaging host and I was hooked from episode 1. I can’t wait to learn more. #BingeWorthy

    Great Podcast!
Shane does a great job with this podcast...I don't know how he does it, but look at all the folks he's interview in just 12 episodes! Very professional but down to earth with his guests. This is the kind of podcast I'd like to do...if Shane hadn't thought of it first!

    Fascinating, informative, and fun!
Great podcast for the diehard spy genre/history fan. Really varied content so far in its first few episodes: authors, super fans, and most extraordinarily, a former KGB spy. Great production value too. You can tell the host has a real passion for and knowledge of spy history; he asks insightful questions and is very engaging. Plus, I could listen to his British accent all day ;)
