Entertaining pod with fun banter among the crew. Love that they tackle current topics in the news and aren’t afraid to push back with light arguments.

Finally, a take from crooked that represents those who are conflicted between the harm reduction of toeing the “progressive” party line vs the very real implications of our govt actions in Palestine. I thought I was losing my mind for a couple weeks. So grateful for this show.

Miles, I have one question for you: if everyone who is incarcerated was able to read a book and the world went a direction where 45 actually got held accountable… would you want him to be able to write, print and receive fanfare/ proceeds for a book about what he’s done to this country? What about Ethan Crumbly or his parents? Parkland shooter? I think we agree there are individuals who would benefit from such writings such as psychologists, psychiatrist, and therapist in context with textbooks and maybe we can find a way to pay proceeds for that.

Miles was on fire this episode! Such excellent points raised by Miles, including the need to take into account socioeconomic inequality when trying to promote a democratic agenda/accomplishments to the black community. Student debt relief helped so many but what about those who didn’t go to college? How are we making schools better so kids want to go to college, and how are we going to take on criminal justice reform? Great episode - thank you!

Always love the topics and the information I learn. Keeps me fresh with what’s going on behind the scenes of our world. I always start my Tuesday with coffee and this pod. Thank you!

Guys your Podcast is amazing but as a listener it just sounds like a bad zoom call half the time now. What has gone on with your audio issues the last few episodes??? there is either someone’s mic live, and there’s constantly rustling in the background (very distracting) or in this latest episode someone’s dogs barking entirely cutting off DeRay. Please just mute yourselves when you’re not speaking, or entirely re-record a portion prior to releasing. There is no reason to post a portion that has SO MUCH background interference.

I use to love the show with the original crew. I have come around to the changes, but often have to stop listening because one or more of the hosts or guests seem to be phoning in with a bad connection or something is mis-wired and it hurts my ears to try to make out the words through the static and feedback and I just skip the rest of the episode. It’s obviously a professional podcast otherwise, and I’m not sure why the crooked media team doesn’t care more about the technical quality.

I love the diverse viewpoints and the respect in this space. I learned so much from one episode!

Love this podcast, I’m always learning something new, hosts have me laughing and sometimes crying. Highly recommend to get a sense of untold news .

Amber Hurd was the Aggressor. People act like a man cannot be victims of domestic violence. If you listen to the case and wash the case you can see, they lied on him and try to provoke him.

This podcast is way off the radar but shouldn’t be it’s so relevant & worth the listen!!!!

I have been a long-time fan of this podcast and rely on it for underreported news on policing and prisons, as well as education and environmental racism. My enjoyment has been lessened in the last year since so much time has been dedicated to dissecting the latest racist tweets and celebrity culture. I have The Read and Keep It for that. Yes, entertainment and celebrities reflect and shape culture, but it’s just not as important or interesting as the political machinations that are happening outside of public view. Wish this pod would go back to a focus on journalism.

Thoughtful, engaging - and also fun!

It’s nice to hear stories focused on the black and brown experience that align with my values. I always feel a little uplifted by the interviews and love hearing the voices of the members give their takes on things.

This podcast never disappoints. Great hosts with thoughtful perspectives on news and events. Fantastic guests. Always thought provoking and always leaving me with something to think about or to dig into a bit more when I’ve finished listening.

Seems like he took Sam Sinyangwe’s Mapping Police Violence idea for his project Campaign Zero, then staging an arrest at a BLM protest, and numerous Twitter spats, I think they need a new host. Crooked has gone down the tubes. Libs do wokeness bad, socialists do it better!

Love the family, the news the bring, and the conversation. I definitely prefer when they can all share their news with each other because I like hearing the reactions from each contributor. It’s a little less enjoyable when they have to set-record their news. I love Miles’ perspective but think they maybe need to edit their scripts a little more before presenting as sometimes I think they get a little too wordy and some of the best nuggets of wisdom they share seem to get lost in the other, less essential ones.

Love hearing about the stories that aren’t covered elsewhere. 2/22 episode where the team thanks twitter users for their shout-outs was cute. Still waiting on deray to discuss the claims that he’s trying to shut sam out of his police brutality database and assert it as his own. Don’t love that cloud hanging over what is an otherwise great show.

Really like this podcast, but 8 whole minutes of ads before the show even starts? Not a fan

This show is excellent. It broadens my perspective and insights every time. However, the ads are getting out of control. This morning’s show had 8 MINUTES of the hosts reading ads before the actual content and discussion started. Several minutes of ads are also spread throughout the show several times as well. This degree of narrated advertising from hosts seems unprecedented to other podcasts and unfortunately degrades the show and makes the voices of the incredible and talented hosts feel like paid mouthpieces.

Deray is a great host and brings the listener along his journey to learn something new from his guests. He challenges himself and his fellow hosts to bring a topic to each podcast to consider and challenges the listener to delve deeper, think critically, open yourself to other perspectives. It’s the history class we should have been exposed to.

The hosts are engaging, and the topics are so interesting. I love that the hosts reference specific articles that I save and reference later. The topics vary from episode to episode, but they all focus on lifting up a specific issue that’s not getting enough attention. The show isn’t super heavy though. The topics can be heavy, but I always feel empowered after an episode. Huge fan.

I found this podcast while searching for a more diverse set of voices covering daily news. The hosts always bring really interesting news not covered in the national news, and have the BEST guests. Their guests cover such a wide range of subjects that are always fascinating. I am constantly locked into to every episode, I love listening every week!

Used to enjoy and learn new things. I still think it’s informative but too many recent episodes have me scratching my head. Can we believe the science? Yes. We can believe the science.

If you’ve ever wondered what the lives of people of color are like, this will get you started. It’s easily the most enlightening podcast I’ve ever heard. The hosts come at you from ground level and speak clearly and passionately. The guests are qualified and professional and equally passionate. You will learn things you had no clue even existed.

I love how this pod dives into racial issues and explains these systematic issues perfectly. I also appreciate the opportunities they provide to volunteer to help the cause.

I just started listening to this podcast a few weeks ago. It is AWESOME! Love to hear the hosts talking intelligently about under reported stories, most closely related with racial justice. Excellent news analysis!

I subscribed to your podcast during the pandemic and really enjoy the depth and breadth of what you guys cover. I am amazed at the plethora of fabulous stories and perspectives that I don’t get anywhere else. For instance, hearing about a black, female small business owner who with her daughter had to create a game where they tried not to go grocery shopping and managing to eat what they had. This game was out of necessity following the guidelines prescribed from tips and tricks of Great Depression survivors. All the while, billionaires making money during this pandemic. This is America. Heartbreaking, enlightening, revealing and comprehensive coverage of so many topics which is a unique breath of fresh air. Thank you!

I search out sources which give me new perspective. I listened to my first episode and knew I must subscribe!

De'Ara’s interview was terrific. My husband and I had white coating painted on our roof years ago ( we live in HOT central California and need all the cooling we can get). Yes, we need to advocate for public health over landlord interests!
