I have listened to TCO since Rebecca Lavoie recommend it on Crime Writers On. I adore them both, but recently it’s been so hard to listen with the way Patrick has been erasing/minimizing/othering Gillian. And my spidi-senses are tingling (from the outside of cours). Let the Women do the work was released on the feed rather than it’s own independent podcast under the network, he seems to erase those who identify as bi as not gay ‘enough’, and has so much dissonance between the position of power in the Monica Lewinsky episode and the position of power highlighted in the Abercrombie & Fitch episode. And when Gillian expresses any disagreement on those topics he seems to over compensate by praising her for whatever she’s doing comedically, its really only been recently that these issues have come to light, but it hurts every time. (Draft I forgot about but aged well)j

Why do I feel like I’m always being yelled at?

Somehow I have just discovered this podcast and I’m loving it. Any podcast that references Waiting For Guffman is next level!

I used to be HUGE fan of this podcast. Over the past year it has just declined. I’ve been waiting for them to find themselves again but it has been painful. I love how they keep the victim first in the retelling. But they keep insisting on not mentioning the killers name. This makes it hard to follow. I think they forgot they’re recapping a story. A lot of other podcasts manage to do it. They used to do it. I feel like I’m getting lectured by Gillian when I listen. There really is no more comedy. Maybe since Patrick is no longer sexualizing men he doesn’t know how to be funny. I still subscribe only to listen to their earlier episodes.

I haven’t found any podcast in years that really caught my attention but this one had me hook-line & sinker at Patrick’s laugh! Great content, fabulous hosts - as our friends would say, “I’m obsessed with them” ❤️

Found this podcast about two months ago and I’ve binged much of it. I love listening to their take on docs and it saves me having to watch them in their entirety. Sometimes the screech is a little extra and the opening with plugging personal projects is tiring but I get it … it’s their living. I love the show and their personalities. One of my fav podcasts ever.

I just read a review where someone was complaining about all the shouting, so it inspired me to write my own. LOVE the “gay gasp,” frequent snorts, and yes the screaming. Listening to the two of you makes me look like an idiot in public when I randomly start laughing. Thank you for being brave enough to make this your full-time career ❤️

I read the description and gave it a try. I couldn’t take the loud talking and laughter. Shrill. It’s too bad. I listen to podcasts to relax. The shouting stresses me out.

I’ve been a fan for seasons and was even on the patreon, but the tone of the show has changed, Gillian clearly only has sympathy for her version of perfect victims, and there’s an air of superiority that comes through when they cover cases that include people that they perceive are not like them, and it’s not done in a comical way, like Ellyn & Joey do, it’s just judgmental and off-putting. I’m a fan of a good roast, and can appreciate dragging the garbage people, but the lines have gotten too blurred and it’s no longer a positive highlight of the show. I used to show up for the humor, because I already hear serious versions of these stories on other shows, but that’s gone now too.

I’ll keep resubmitting my review after you delete it. This podcast used to be good but the hosts have turned out to be garbage. You can read about all the drama on the ObsessedNetwork page on r e d d i t. They don’t want you to know about it, which is probably why my reviews keep “disappearing”. Anyway, enjoy the incessant plugs about Patrick’s vanity project (aka his book tour), should you choose to listen. Beware of fake 5-star reviews— some of them stick out like a sore thumb, lol.

I loved this podcast. It fed my fixation with cults and true crime in a way that allowed for laughter but didn’t minimize the suffering of the victims. However that has changed. There is nonstop name dropping of their “close” friends, Patrick screams a lot and Gillian consistently reminds us to be inclusive while she in turn consistently bashes people above the age 60. Their episodes now are rehashes of either Dateline or 48 Hours. When a person suggests a documentary that is reminiscent of the original premise of the podcast it is ignored. I get that it is their show and can do the material they want but it feels they are catering to their fans who are “worshipping “ them in their FB account (where discussion is not encouraged). I would hope they would read some of these reviews and realize they are losing the people that were there at the beginning and loved what was created at that time.

Gillian is miserable, judgmental, and desperate for everyone to think she’s cool while she hates everything. Patrick used to seem smart and reasonable but those days are over. Plus the screeching laughter is way too much. Everything about this podcast is hypocritical. They judge the people involved in everything they review for not having 2024 sensibilities or being politically correct enough for them, while they shriek with laughter and make jokes about murders. This all happens in between their non stop ads and shilling for their Patreon. I’m fairly certain any positive reviews they have at this point are bought and paid for. Hard pass.

This used to be my favorite podcast. G has become so entitled and angry. I actually stopped listening for several months and last week attempted to give it another listen. G is so angry about everything. She is annoyed at every single person and situation! I miss the old G. This truly used to be my favorite and I’d listen to old eps on repeat.

I have already submitted this review , but somehow it got deleted. Weird, how is that happening? People not talking accountability for their actions. I realized they are only out for money. Tons of adds, pitching their Patreon all the time and releasing an add that they would do they Jinx for their summer tour and not Obsessed Fest. Then guess what they did, covered the Jinx at Obsessed Fest! So I paid tons of money to see the same show.

Patrick’s laugh ruins every episode, and I swear his microphone is literally louder. No respect to victims and they add so many opinions that aren’t true and don’t add to the story.

I use to love me some Patricia and GP but once all the information came out about his behavior in and outside of the workplace and GPs silence and lack of accountability, I cannot in good faith support this show. It’s really sad to say but this both deserve the garbage bell. Ding ding.

I found you 2 years ago and haven’t stopped!! You guys are so funny and really dig in with every episode! You guys really have a special place in my heart! I hope one day I could see you in person!!!!!

Used to really love

I came across your podcast by chance or fate 😉. Although the content is sad because we are talking about people being murdered, I do love you chemistry and comedic take on the “stupid” criminals.

Cannot stand them talking over each other. I love true crime podcasts, but there is no strategy or tact here. Their voices become insufferable as all they do is yell and laugh through their microphones - talking over eachother in some weird twisted competition to get the most words in as they can. I cant even follow the stories they are telling. I tried… I really did. But it’s not for me.

Long time listener but it has become way too political. Trashing cops constantly or complaining that others are not working hard enough (even though P and G ‘s only contribution is reviewing a show). Also anyone with a divergent opinion is “garbage”. It used to be funny, witty, and a great way to listen to a conversation about a true crime documentary, but no so much anymore. The show has an angry undertone with a focus and concern on semantics.

I’m only rating this because I see that you’re p*##*ng off all the right people, and I support that. Also, I’ve been listening for years, and you rock.

I was introduced to TCO about a year ago by a friend and I haven’t stopped listening since. Sometimes I sit in my driveway just to finish the episode because I can’t pry myself away from the story. Gillian’s commentary is top notch making me snort more often than I would like to admit.

Patrick has become insufferable and is just addicted to the fame and money. He treats the people who have been in his life forever like they are garbage. Gillian isn’t much better.

It just isn’t as good as it used to be. It’s almost boring to listen to. I like listening to it because it was funny, interesting, and better than watching the actual shows that they’re talking about but recently it just turned into bland dribble that doesn’t enhance the shows they’re talking about and isn’t very compelling or interesting in any way. Maybe it’ll return to what it formerly was. i’m sure it’s difficult putting out so many of these and burn out is a real thing. I don’t know if that’s what it is, but hopefully it can return to its former self again.

Can’t get through one episode without blaming Trump or rich people for something. Yet I can’t find any charitable contributions from TCO. Patrick does his fake laugh constantly. It’s sad to see how far this podcast has fallen.

I have listened to this podcast from the beginning and it used to be great. I remember when they used to do actual documentaries and not just one off dateline episodes or what have you. It’s truly sad because every time a really good documentary comes out I would wait for them to cover it and nothing. Just don’t bother now, it will never be the same and lacks the same energy it used to. Mean girl vibes all around and everything just feels like a cash grab now. I have always loved this podcast. Lately, a little eh. Episode 72: Three Identical Strangers- Tragic story, but Gillian’s version of the conversation among the wives and the egg shell wallpaper had me laughing so hard, it hurt.
