Buddhist Boot Camp Podcast

779

The intention is to awaken, enlighten, enrich, and inspire. Timber Hawkeye, bestselling author of Buddhist Boot Camp and Faithfully Religionless, offers a secular approach to being at peace with the world, both within and around us. As the Dalai Lama says, "Don't try to use what you learn from Buddhism to be a Buddhist, use it to be a better whatever-you-already-are."

    Mindfulness Monetization
I get the sense that this person is mostly out to capitalize on spiritual and mindfulness trends. I could be wrong, but I find it off putting. I have three stars because the message is good, I just question the intent behind it.

    What my soul needs
Timber Hawkeye pinpoints a subject and addresses with clarity and conciseness as to what the soul is seeking for equanimity. I continue to be grateful for finding this podcast and honestly, have to replay each episode more than once to absorb the full message.

    Safe harbor in a storm
I discovered this podcast while desperately trying to find my way out of a time of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual distress. There is truth and depth to these discussions, yet they are so digestible and never overwhelming. Perfect for those who need a flicker of soft candlelight to self-reflect by, but aren’t ready to stand under the blazing sun. I love that Timber is so wise, yet also flawed. He is on the path with us, not pretending to be at the end- because there is no end. I’ve listened to every episode, but come back to listen when I lose my way and need help getting started again.

    Meh
It’s a book advertisement with some basic Buddhist teachings slipped in the middle.

    Thank you!
I have listened to your podcast for the last 4 years. I always find myself nodding along and saying aloud “ahh yes” “oh that’s a great reminder” “wow, great story/illustration” and so forth through the episodes. I was sparked to come review just now after hearing the neurodivergent episode. Thanks for sharing that you were neurodivergent. I felt a very deep kinship as I heard you speak, from your early years experience to the feeling of understanding you had, and the story of chips-speed boats. It baffles me not everyone thinks in that way too haha. When I was in my early 30s I found out I was neurodivergent and through the last few years had transformative healing through that knowledge. I agree with your statement about Buddhism just making sense and that is why I was drawn to it a couple decades ago. Thank you for making this podcast.

Not sure what else I can say. I love the brevity of the episodes, they are just long enough to make you stop and really think about what he’s said. Ive listened to a few many, many times over and always seem to get something new from them.

    Bad Mood
I just started, but Bad Mood hit home the most. It’s a good example of ways to stop a “spiral”. Hit pause, or get hit to pause, reflect, and chose a better path. Thanks.

    Life changing
I have practiced yoga and meditation for the better part of my life. This book and this podcast contain the most simple, easily digestible Buddhism lessons I have ever come across. Each episode is simply majestic.

    Thank You
I practice yoga and feel zen a few hours after , especially when the instructor says something that resonates with me. I fell upon this podcast by accident and I actually think the universe made me see it. So many of these short messages are so what I needed. They are also short and to the point. So if your working on yourself you can listen to the message many times throughout your week.

    Thank-you
My husband is a Buddhist and I could not understand some of the things he would try to teach me, to help me through life’s suffering and so on. However, listening to your words helped put together what he says, how he is reacting to the pandemic and more. He is a most patient man despite much physical suffering he experiences. Now I understand this patience. It doesn’t matter if you are Catholic, Jewish, Buddhist, etc.; learn from the teachings. It is as you said: Be kind to each other. I am so happy to have your podcast to listen to.

These messages will help you shift
I rarely write reviews but I am completely compelled to do so now for Timber and this podcast! The messages are short on the time line and plant deep seeds of thought provoking change opportunities! I cannot thank Timber and all of us here who hold space for the “ unique” times we are in and how important the perspective that is offered is to our growth! Is Timber a guru? Not for me to say. Is and are his messages important, insighfult, and impeccable in their timing? For me ( and based on the many ither comments I have read) indeed they have been! The light in me honors the light in everyone who reads this. Thanks for being part of this space and time with me and with all of us. -peace

    Just what I need
Listening to Timber always puts everything back into perspective. I feel like I can can breathe again after an episode. So many of his episodes strike a chord within me and makes me cry a little, but in a good way. Truly helps me heal. Thank you Timber!

    I’m grateful...
Oh so grateful for Timber and his writings and podcasts and how they relate so well to daily life. He has helped me to make a huge positive change in my life. Found Buddhist bootcamp at a bookstore while looking over shelves and shelves of books on Buddhism. So glad that I picked up his book. I bought an extra copy to give friends and family.

    I Love Timber
I have spent the last month listening to each and every podcast message from Timber. I love that I can listen to each message just before I leave the car each morning to start my day. Timber starts my day 😊. He has made me think about what “simple” means to me. It is easier than we all think. I appreciate you Timber! Now I am going to spend each morning reading comments to better connect to the Timber community.

    Perfection
These podcasts are perfect! The length, the content, the depth, the authenticity and sincerity. Timber takes some complex principles and applies them to everyday life for everyday people! I often listen and then take time to just soak in ALL of the beauty and simplicity. I, do, often wish they were just a little bit longer but there’s something special about the yearning for the next one. An exercise in patience. These podcasts will enrich your life and your journey! Namaste 🙏🏻 M-
