    It’s fallen off
The early episodes were awesome, funny, and relatable. Now not so much. If they don’t have a guest it feels like they just keep making lists that are very similar to the previous lists. The advice also comes from a very privileged point of view that may not be very helpful to most people. For example I remember them saying to pay for your car in full or with cash…uh what? I miss the humor Taylor brought now it’s just one privileged white Chick talking about jobs and one privileged white Chuck talking about her boyfriend. And they both love to make lists. Listen to the first couple years then pass.

did we just become best friends?
i have been listening to self helpless for years, and it truly feels like delanie and kelsey are those girlfriends that are always there for you. they share the perfect balance of practical tips and life advice mixed in with their natural comedic relief, and no matter the episode title i’m always excited to listen. i was lucky enough to talk about business in a call with delanie, as well as buy tickets to one of kelsey’s upcoming shows. thank you both for being so open with your listeners and never toning it down. keep being you!

    Both hilarious and informative
What an incredible podcast! I recently had the chance to meet Kelsey Cook in Boston and she truly is so down to earth. I initially found the Self Helpless podcast when I was looking to find out more information on OCD (came from the Middle of Somewhere podcast) and the rest is history. Still hoping for Delanie to get back into standup too!!

Been getting me through some hard times
I started listening in the beginning of the pandemic when I was laid off from my job and felt like the world was ending. Over the years, the girls and their guests have implemented comedy with mental health and well-being and has always been a highlight of my week. As I enter another rough period of life from being blind sided by my partner of 4 and 1/2 years leaving, I listened to the episode with Leo Babauta and remembered how much this podcast helped me get through the last few years. Thank you for the wonderful content you put out! It truly makes a difference.

    On and off listener
I’ve been listening to self-helpless on and off for years, and recently came back to the show. I’ve been loving the episodes lately. Thanks for the quarter life crises episode, such a needed reminder to take a deep breath and try to be present and enjoy the life I’ve built for myself!

Love the podcast! Brings me so much comfort!
I’ve been listening to the podcast for a while now, and Kelsey and Delaney have been such great role models for me. This podcast has helped me navigate so much of the anxiety, doubts, and discomfort I have had post-college and this first year of medical school. It’s so nice to have what feels like two hilarious big sisters who can share their wisdom and aren’t afraid to be vulnerable. Love every episode! Thank you!
  • Makes Monday mornings better
    One of my favorite podcasts
I’ve been listening to this podcast for over 2 years and these girls are amazing, they have honest conversations about real topics. It make my work on Monday mornings better listening to Kelsey, Delanie, and Taylor (if it is an older episode)! But you may want to have some headphones, because real topics are sometimes NSFW

    The vegans you don’t hate
Thank you for the recent vegan episode, Delaney! Totally relatable in terms of not wanting to ruffle any feathers in day to day life, so I know it takes a lot to put yourself out there on a subject that’s touchy for a lot of people (although it shouldn’t be!). Side note - I ain’t mad at Kelsey’s vegan bit on her comedy special because at least she tried it before knocking it LOL I don’t catch every episode but love checking in with you ladies every once in awhile and you’re usually on point with topics that are on my mind such as overthinking! And then I end up binging 3-4 at a time.

    AMAZING!
Self helpless is such a blessing!! I love listening to these ladies create a safe space, keep it real, and have fun while they do it. Kelsey and Delanie (Taylor too!) are hilarious and make talking about mental health easier. A guaranteed way for me to improve my mood and day!

My go-to for the last 6 years
I cannot say enough amazing things about this podcast and the incredible women who are part of it! This podcast popped my "entry into the podcast realm" cherry, and I have never looked back. I have listened to countless episodes over the last 6 years and these lovely ladies got me through some of the hardest times in my life, both in London and back home in CA! They truly feel like life-long friends that I kick back every week with. I have even had the joy of meeting Kelsey in-person at one of her shows, and she is even more kind than you'd imagine. Thank you for always being there with such great advice for us helpsters ladies, keep it up! <3 - Leah (so sorry if it uses my hotmail from grade school)

    All My Exes’ Moms
The girls have created such positive messaging in my life that it’s ok to rest and take care of myself, and if I’m not loving what I’m doing or the relationship I’m in, there is a better fit out there. I became a fan of Kelsey when I saw her at Comedy Fort in Fort Collins and afterwards, someone beat her at foosball for once. Since then, I’ve discovered this podcast and listened to all of it, including the Patreon episodes! I identify most with Delanie in personality, but I think this show offers something for everyone. A song came up on Spotify that reminded me of Taylor’s bit about her ex’s mom who basically told her that she was too good for the woman’s son…the song is called All My Exes’s Moms by Brooke Alex. Hope you’ll give it a listen and pass it along to Taylor just for some laughs!

    Love It
    Delanie is my spirit animal.
  • a bit less grey
Belated appreciation for the support absorbed over the years
It’s been a bit since I’ve listened, and suddenly today I saw the Is It Anxiety or GAD episode (310) dropped and was so helpful to listen to with the clear conceptual jewels. I ‘get it’ interiorly so much more clearly now through the work done with my therapist AND from the ‘Whoa, that sounds like me’ moments and community felt with you all and those you invite in to share and illuminate the shared weirdness in us, and with those that make up Psychology in Seattle, that have helped fuel me to feeling not so alone and celebrating all the small victories. Sending this now before procrastination or perfectionism can get hands on it! :) Grateful for you all that make this be, particularly Delanie and Kelsey and of course Taylor, too!
  • Kind of addicting
    Love it!
I didn’t know about the show until I heard about you on Elyse Myers podcast. So glad I have more funny women in my rotation. I have loved the vibe and info and can’t wait to work through these episodes. A+
  • Maxcraft430
    I like your show lots
You 2 should REALLY interview "Paul and Sasha" from podcast "Community News by Paul and Sasha". They make self help and therapy funny and are honest about the ways they are helpless. Check them out. Would love to hear you all together.

    Crushing it
Thanks for the episode on 20 tips for managing the winter blues. This is such a great, visual way to be reminded of what brings me joy.

You got me through college 😭❤️
I started listening to this podcast my freshman year of college and I still listen to it as a post grad! Delanie, Taylor and Kelsey have been so inspiring to me as women thriving with unconventional lives/ career paths. I’ve also learned so many good tips to help with my mental health through the years. No matter what I’m going through I know there is an episode I can go back to that will be just what I need. Even though Taylor is gone I am glad y’all are still doing the podcast. I see you 2 as the big sisters I never had, giving me advice and comfort. Keep doing what you do! <3

    A gem of a podcast
I recently discovered Self Helpless when I was driving across the country alone to move for a new job. I binged the podcast from CT to Seattle and have recommended you to so many friends!! You girls are so funny and it feels like listening to two wise older sisters giving you life advice. You never fail to make me smile and I always walk away feeling less alone in some of my struggles!
  • Shawnfifty
    I loved everything about this!
Sad to say this is the first time I’ve listened to this podcast (I should have listened the first time it was mentioned to me). I had the pleasure of meeting Kelsey in Tempe, Az this last October at Chad Daniels show (Chad’s episode is the first one I listened to). I enjoyed being able to chat with her and Chad and see the amazing connection they had together. Listening to this podcast has cemented my first thought that Kelsey is genuinely a kind and caring person. I feel honored to have been able to meet her. I’m looking forward to getting to some shows when I can as well. This review is probably already too long, so I’ll leave with this. I came here as a Chad Daniels fan, but I’m leave as a Self-Helpless Fan as well. Thank you! I will be listening!

    Hoping for a redirection
Ladies, I love y’all. It truly feels like I’ve gotten to know you after countless hours of listening through the years! I’m just one reviewer, but would love to hear less pseudoscience and naturopathy. It seems like more of the episodes recently have gone in that direction :(

    New listener
I just started listening to this podcast so I’m a little behind, but in an episode from 2018, I have never heard someone describe what it’s like to have allergy anxiety, Kelsey explained it so well, I have a peanut allergy too and awful seasonal allergies and no one ever truly gets it! I love listening to all 3 ladies and feel like we would be friends in real life if we ever met 😂

It’s a great podcast and love all the things you do!

Thank you for talking into a microphone and making me laugh
Podcasts are my source of motivation. It’s like Popeye’s spinach for me. I get sudden bursts of energy to clean my room or finally take up that moldy smoothie cup next to my bed. I clean, I listen, I laugh, and then I go into 3rd person watching myself laugh, alone in my room. Hours go by, and then my day is gone. But, I feel fulfilled because of podcasts like these, so thank you. Saying that reminded me of the tagline after PBS kids commercials where it’s like “viewers like you - thank you!” You are my viewers, I am PBS kids.

    So So Great!!
I was hesitant to start because I didn’t like the podcasts I had tried before, but I love Taylor Tomlinson. I accidentally started in the middle then went back to the beginning and it’s cool to see how the ladies grow emotionally and in their careers. Also it’s just so funny. There have been a few times when I actually laughed out loud at work and had to hide a bit. I’ve been telling everyone about it.

The best podcast find for sure!
I came across this podcast after hearing Taylor on another podcast. So glad I did. I love the chemistry between all of the hosts and appreciate their opinions. The topics are cool and they keep getting stronger. I will be a fan for life.

    Helpful and relatable
I love the range of topics addressed on this pod and how the girls always give tangible things you can do to help your situation. I recommend it!!

This podcast came at the perfect time
I discovered this podcast in 2018 in the midst of a really really severe mental breakdown . I searched “anxiety” hoping something would come up to give me a little bit of comfort and this podcast popped up. I listened to the episode on anxiety first and then moved on to all of the others . You guys are just so relatable and it really is like listening to friends . During my break I was in and out of the ER and I would pop my ear phones in and listen to an episode and it brought me a lot of comfort, and I want to thank y’all for being so awesome ♥️ Doing waaaay better mentally now and still listening! Keep up the good work girls! Melissa

One of the best podcast shows out there!
I love this podcast show SO much! Not only do I relate to every episode, it always puts me in a better mood and motivates me to do something bigger with my life. It’s given a little extra push I needed to start making a successful online business without a huge social media following. Thank you ladies for always brightening my day. Keep doing what you do ❤️

    Spoke to me
The most recent episodes have hit me hard as they seem to fit what I'm going through in life so well. I appreciate how honest these ladies are in tackling some tough subjects and making me feel less alone.

    🍪⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🥰
This podcast!!! These ladies!!! I found this podcast after searching for symptoms coming off of birth control and stayed for the post-wedding blues, perfectionism, codependency, and soooo much more!! I have now somehow managed to binge all 4 years of this show in 3 months. Yes, I have it on always. It always gets me in a better mood on those rough days (or those lazy days or crazy days, am I right?) I have connected to this podcast on multiple levels with each and every episode. I’m excited to join the patreon and binge all of those episodes now! I look forward to many more episodes that will bring me healing, comfort, laughs, encouragement, and self-improvement! Love you ladies! Keep doing what your doing!

    🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
I’ve been binging this podcast since I came across it a few months ago. I started with the current episodes and enjoyed it so much that now I’m going back and listening to the older ones. I have a really long commute and spend 3+ hours in the car some days, but now that I’ve found this podcast I actually look forward to that time because I get to listen to two, sometimes three episodes a day and I literally never get tired of it. I love how the topics are always discusses in such a real and honest way, and I feel like I learn something from every single episode. I’ve found myself making positive changes in my life because of it. Plus, Kelsey, Delanie, and Taylor are hilarious and I often find myself laughing out loud in my car alone, looking like a crazy person while stuck in traffic. I’m truly not sure what I’m going to do when I run out of old episodes to catch up on.

    Needs a Refresh
I used to LOVE this podcast- but the ladies may need to refresh it a little post-Taylor. The episode on random facts wasn’t great and it shows they may need a real thought process on how to proceed. I get they’re busy, but I have been a loyal listener for about 4 years and the listeners deserve better than repeating random facts.
  • Fluffin-A
    Bland
A depressingly accurate depiction of what women seem to think and care about. Shallow and vapid. Not unique, interesting or special.
  • jaime_vargas
    seen better days
I’m disappointed in the direction of the podcast, especially around the time Taylor left— these aren’t self help or mental health topics or book reviews anymore… I feel like they’re just picking random topics and maybe running out of ideas. I was here for self help and mental health, and I don’t necessarily want to hear about allergies, or school from home, or this week- 50 random facts? What? This podcast is just not for me anymore, and I’m bummed about it!

From Monica, not Vivian, I’m poor and I share my moms Apple account
I started listening during quarantine as something to fill my time (like the rest of the world) and have since fallen in love. I kept telling myself I would just listen to some and then found myself saying, “but just one more” and am now on a binge streak. I love how you guys touch on so many topics, whether it is directly pertinent to your lives or not, and talk about them with such genuine curiosity and openness (which this world needs more of). And actually thanks to your episode on raising a child with a disability (I’m a pediatric physical therapist) I had a light bulb moment of realizing the diagnosis of a kid I was treating. Also thanks to you all, I am realizing more and more how much my anxiety effects my life and that I’m not crazy or alone. But anyway, thanks for the laughs and discussions. Keep up the good work ladies!

    Finally caught up!
I found this podcast at the start of quarantine, and decided to listen to all of it. I’m finally caught up and it’s wonderful! I’m excited for Taylor to come back intermittently, but I’m so happy she’s doing what she needs, and that she and Kelsey get to start full-blown tours! And I can’t wait for Delanie to end up in her commune! You guys are clearly more than crawling in the direction of your dreams 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪

    Thanks for the quotes
I appreciate the quotes y’all share. They’ve saved my mindset on many occasions. I thought I’d share one I appreciate. It’s not a quote by anyone but a thought I have every morning that helps motivate me. “Be in a loving long distance relationship with your future self. Do things today that your future self will thank you for. Small things. Like fold that laundry, delete that toxic phone number, drink more water. It all adds up and you’ll be grateful when look back and see your greatest supporter was yourself all along.”

    Self Help Humor
These women have an incredible ability to not only dig deep into challenging or taboo topics, but also to use enough humor that helps one to understand and relate to psychological issues. Its a great listen as well as finding the silver lining or humor to sometimes awful challenges we go through. Sometimes all we can do is shrug our shoulders, laugh it off, and let it go, and these gals make that more of a realistic action!

    Recovering perfectionist loving this podcast
In true perfectionist fashion, I have procrastinated far too long in writing this review because I wanted to do it justice. There’s so much that can be said as this podcast has helped me through many tough times. I originally found the podcast years ago by searching for minimalist tips and quickly fell down the rabbit hole of listening to all their great episodes. They connect with the audience by each utilizing their unique personalities to share various self help tools in a funny and non judgmental way. I had the great pleasure of seeing them all perform comedy at Delanie’s special (and was also able to see Taylor and Kelsey two other times). Thank you all for being the friends I never had and for reminding me of my self worth and strength. With love, Heather <3

love how taylor, delanie, and kelsey talk about relevant topics with their personal insight and hilarious anecdotes. they are the older sisters i never had. i've always been too nervous to go to a book club, but self-helpless allows me to listen to an entertaining discussion about books whenever convenient. the podcast overall helps encourage me to read and improve myself. thank you!!! p.s. taylor if ur reading this i saw u open for whitney cummings in february and it was amazing!

    Got iTunes just to review
I wish we could review individual episodes because I have something to say after every single episode. I started from the beginning and I'm currently working through the 2018 episodes. The break-up episode is playing while I write this review. Honestly I love you guys. Taylor, I feel like one of us committed identity theft, because I get everything you say. As I was listening to the Enneagram Test episode I felt like I didn't even need to go take the test because I was like, well I'm obviously a six. Kelsey and Delanie make me feel a little more sane too, because they bring in such a different perspective from what I know. It feels like having close friends who actually care about what's going on in my life. It was your podcast that continues to motivate me to get out of my depressive funk and do something positive with my life.
