Since they sold out the show is corporate
This used to be the most palatable dev podcast but then a corporation bought it and it’s more and more corporate by day. I don’t know who CJ is and indont care. We liked the old show. I guess we all sell out at some point. Time to look for another podcast.

Amazing but podcast is becoming second class
The recent changes in the formatting if the show makes the audio experience feel like the second class experience which is a shame for me because it is my preferred way. I love the show but so not have the time to consume this show if not audio (my commute and walks)

    Married to a Developer
I’m married to a developer who loves driving through the night on road trips. This is our go to podcast for him to listen to while driving. He gets to stay up to date on new tech trends, while we listen to the soothing voices of the hosts and occasionally learn new coding terms and concepts before we fall asleep. 😀 Really great show that has helped me as a non-developer understand more about the coding world and the inner workings of how to understand and appreciate the tech world my husband enjoys so much!

It was just to practice my listening
SyntaxFM has been an invaluable companion for the past two years of my podcast journey. Their insightful discussions on web development and programming have not only helped me stay up-to-date with industry trends but also improved my English listening. Wes and Scott's dynamic and friendly hosting style makes each episode engaging and easy to follow.

Instrumental in My Development as a Dev
Wes and Scott’s tireless effort to create one of the most interesting , palatable, and informative podcasts is a huge resource for anyone interested in computer science. Their discussions provide a depth of knowledge on not only front end engineering but full stack engineering in general. Their supper club episodes bring a new exciting wrinkle to an already thriving podcast. Thank you so much for all the episodes you have created.

Syntax is the best web dev pod cast out there
I been listening to Syntax.FM for over a year now and i couldn’t be more satisfied with their content. They do a great job explaining topics and very pleasurable to listen to them. Keep up the great work.

Like the content; hate the intro
The intros are really loud and obnoxious, and it seems to get worse with time. They are overwhelming if you have a sensory processing issue caused by ADHD, autism, etc. I can’t have this podcast in a passive playlist while doing other things, since I have to consciously prepare for and try to skip the various introductions. As a result, I just don’t listen much anymore. I like the somewhat silly nature of the brand but wish it manifested in a way that was not physically painful for me. Update: Unsubscribed since they’re only getting worse and don’t seem to care.

Great stuff. When is the next episode of how to build a website?!
Really appreciating this quality podcast. It is great to hear programmers talk aboutDevelopment and a knowledgeable hound approachable way. I am new to frontend development, and just listened to the first episode of “how to build a website”, and I am really hoping the follow-up one comes out soon. I would love to hear you guys talk about setting up a domain, server, database and everything else.

Great show but ad copy is over the top
Please stop putting ads in the episode descriptions and put the actual description in instead. It’s much more accessible for people who want to decide which episodes to listen to instead of reading the same ad copy on each show.

    Loveee
Thank you both so much for taking the time to create this podcast. As a developer I sometimes struggle with picking up new concepts. I’m also very much an auditory learner. If I’m struggling with something, I can count on an episode of yours to help me process what I am learning/have learned. You all have an amazing way of breaking down stuff so simply. I also really appreciate the time you take to discuss preference, pros and cons etc.

    Web Dev Edutainment!
Syntax is perfect listening for keeping my head in the web dev game while I’m out working at the job I’m trying to switch out of. Great tips, news, and topics, presented by entertaining individuals, via great production and sound quality. A no brainer if podcasts and web development are your thing.

    Aspiring Developer At 25
As an aspiring developer going back to school at 25 and self-teaching myself full stack MERN development, I can say that I love hearing from Wes and Scott on different topics in the tech community. I think it’s difficult to find that connection between coding and a work/ life balance that’s genuine and these guys bring that which I’m grateful for. Keep up the good work! - Michael S.

    Educational, jovial, and never pretentious
SynTax with Scott and Wes is a fun and approachable resource. I find myself tuning in even if the topics don’t apply to me. Stop reading this and give it a listen.

    I like this show
This podcast was recommended during a boot camp. I have branched out to other coding podcasts but syntax is the one coding podcast I listen to continuously.

    Da Best
This is my favorite podcast! Scott and Wes are so upbeat and fun to listen to. I think they have a good mix of topics, from harder technical material (which they do a good job of explaining) to the “soft skills” that all developers need to have. Thanks boys!

    Amazing Podcast
As someone who is just now learning the ropes of web development, listening to this podcast is helping me so much. The most recent one about mental health was probably the best one I’ve listened to so far. You guys rock and please keep on putting out this great stuff!!!!

    Awesome Overview of WordPress WebOps
Episode 190, “Migrating, Deploying, and Hosting WordPress,” gives a great overview of the challenges and opportunities around deploying WordPress as a web application. They did not mention the best WebOps platform for developing, hosting, migrating and deploying WordPress (and Drupal), Pantheon!! Keep up the great work guys!!

    No competition
One of the best podcasts, ever! I listen to several 'development' podcasts and none compare to Syntax. Mondays and Wednesdays are exciting now... all because of you guys. Thank you both for what you do!

    Perfect balance
This podcast is such a great resource for “to know about X”. I heard it for the first time as a recommendation when I requested a talk topic about SVG to my local meetup. And listening from the first episode ever since. Love Wes’s JavaScript30 but didn’t know he also do a podcast. This is such a great way to not only grasp a concept of totally new concept but also find a new aspect of one that I (thought) already know. Such a great balance - not too deep, not too shallow. Even love ”sick picks”, plugs, and sponsors. Super realistic and definitely relevant.

    great podcast
So many good topics—be sure to look through the archives.

    My favorite podcast
I’m a beginning programmer so I first tuned into the episode on interview questions. But I was hooked almost immediately. Scott and Wes are funny, personable, and instantly likeable. I’ve learned a massive amount about Web Development along the way. I also really enjoy the Sick Picks. Great job guys. Please keep it up.

Must listen for Front End Developers
I’ve been listening to Syntax for awhile now, and following Wes Bos’ tutorials for even longer and I have to say this is top notch. Scott and Wes have a great chemistry and they keep things really interesting. Gotta love when they’re #FlexinWithTheBoys

I start my first software internship Monday and was looking for something to listen to while driving or trying to kill time that was engaging and productive for me in some way, this podcast has been perfect! 4 episodes in and looking forward to more.

    Good Dev talk bad intro...
Good: lots of great and useful information, even about things that may not be totally germane to front end web development. Generally helpful, good spirited and easy going about their opininons on JS, React etc... I'd say its most useful for intermediate level developers... My only gripe would be the shocky jocky intro sound board stuff. If you like mainstream radio morning shows w/ the "Crazy Doctor" and "Tha Gator", you'll be hyped, but personally, I fire up the podcast hit mute until about :20-30 in, and enjoy...
  • MaryLizC
    Very informative
I love listening to this podcast. These fellas have great chemistry to bounce back and forth on. They know what they are talking about and give a ton of insight.

    Excellent Source of Information
Educational and fun to listen to. Frequent enough that you look forward to the next episode and don’t forget about it. Scott and Wes do an excellent job of being relevant to any developer of any experience level. Be sure to check out their available courses as they’re some of the best I’ve found at a heck of a good price point too.
  • DFSpolitics
So much info in each episode!
I started listening to Syntax in January 2019, and let me tell you, it’s so shock full of information! Love the pace of the conversation between the hosts, love that they share up to date info in web technologies, things that I used to hear about only when they were outdated already, and that they share a lot of good stuff on soft skills, too. Knowing that both of them are highly successful web developers that don’t have a Computer Science degree gives me hope on my own web dev journey, as well!

    Don't believe everything
Good: This podcast is great as an introduction to technologies: next.js, Jenkins, basic knowledge of the web development landscape. Bad: This podcast is misleading on how easy it is to learn everything you need to know and to get employment. Scott and Wes have done amazingly well for themselves but understand that they are selling their success as a brand. If you wanted to get started as a web developer, be aware that it is extremely difficult. It's doable but you're going to suffer for it. There are no shortcuts.

So Great for Front-End Developers New and Experienced
My new favorite podcast. I look forward to each new episode because I know I'm probably going to learn something new about the front-end developers industry as it pertains to javascript and other related topics. I especially love their "shameless-plugs" and their "tasty-treats" (recommendations). They are entertaining, real people who explain things well enough they are able to go into some technical detail. They've helped me understand so much as a new developer!
