PackNation92Dave DoerenLove the podcast, guys. I’ve got a question, why do people think that Dave Doeren is a good coach? He’s sub .500 in the ACC and last I checked, he’s 6-26 against top 25 competition. Additionally, in every big time nationally televised game that I can remember, he embarrasses our program in blowout losses. Would love your thoughts as I honestly wish we’d move on from him as I’m tired of watching the same story every year.
-
JMoneyshotGood PodVery informative on college football and sports betting. Would be five stars if it weren’t for the blatant SEC hatred, but I guess it is a CBS show. Should rename to that Big Ten Podcast or The OSU hype train.

CaptainChazDam-Zekes!!!!!It’s saying something when danny kanell is the LEAST obnoxious person on a podcast…

Vols FolsIU bench and pac 2I love this pod!!! Seriously, can’t get enough the the crew. It’s like listening to smart football guys who love the sport and love what they do! Thank you and keep up the hard work. I heard that IU isn’t dressing all of its players for home games and making some sit in the stands. Does this happen at other school? Seems like a way to tell “walks ons” to go somewhere else’s. I know Coach Cig is different but this seems odd! Also with PAC 2 and Mountain West not reupping schedule deal… what will O St and Wash St’s schedule look like in the past? Mainly because I think all conferences will go to 10 conference games. Thanks John

NvdolfanUsed to be the bestHave had this podcast on auto download for over 5 years with some of the best analysis and banter. Now that every Tuesday is a 60 minute ad read for the Big 10 they’ve lost some of their credibility and I’m now looking for a new CFB podcast. This one has gone the way of Barton for me, RIP.
-
Heiser4292Audio IssuesGreat podcast and I appreciate the group’s insight, but the audio levels are too low and inconsistent. I have to crack it up to full volume and I still can’t hear it compared to other pods. Fix this and we’ve got a 5* show.

ally10Mailbag: iPad on the sidelinesOver the weekend Marcus Freeman said he loves having it because players can see the adjustments the coaches are telling them they are making. Norvell on the other hand said he was not in favor of them. Have other coaches voiced their thoughts and why wouldn’t Norvell like iPads on the sidelines?

Faceless0311Best dang national pod in the gameHey guys, Matt from Madison here. First time, long time… I love to the Cover3 for quenching my thirst with that pure football H2O that you pour. Water. More water please. (One man’s opinion but the fantasy segment of upon further review is a drag. Spin it off into its own podcast. Mixing fantasy and real football is mixing oil and water.) Water please Question—given the results of week1, who are your favorite teams to scratch their nails against the chalkboard, throw a stick into the path of a rollerblader, or otherwise be that kid?

JthegroundbreakingpartyMailbag ReviewHey Cover 3 crew! As a longtime listener since the Barton and Chip days, your podcast has been in the rotation! I left a review over the summer hoping to get in on the mailbag so I’m trying again! Clemson just lost to Georgia. What is the problem with the offense? I thought at times the O-Line looked decent on Saturday but other times it looked like it was struggling. Is it QB? Receivers? Lack of portal use? Dabo? All of the above? To me this looks like the same offense Clemson has run for a long time. Do you guys think it’s the offensive identity that is compounded by all the other issues? Great show looking forward to hear from you

Gwishnew3Podcast is 5 starsGreat content. Unique, insightful coverage & analysis. Episodes from HQ devolve into ESPN bland & boring.

IkebrennerMake up your mind DannyBest college football pod out there without a doubt! Question: will Danny ever make up his mind whether the sign stealing scandal was a major deal or not? Seems like he changes his mind weekly on that. It’s sad especially coming from a guy who’s played the highest level of football where in person scouting is legal and also it is legal in high school. My small highschool with little to no resources sent people to scout other teams. And if another team has all your plays you know it immediately and adjust. If my small highschool could figure it out why can’t these colleges (Ohio State) with unlimited resources figure it out and adjust instead of crying about it?

RussellSG1Chip out of controlI’m so glad to see that people are finally responding in their ratings to the completely out of control, 10 of 10 irritating, screaming like a lunatic Chip. Is he actually paid the be as obnoxious as possible? Notice the fake Saban “aights” he’s totally disingenuously adopted lately?!? This guy takes irritating to stratospheric new levels. While we’re still stuck with him, be ready to forward 15 seconds ahead every time Chip talks. You’ll hit that button A LOT during each show — more than 60 percent. He actually thinks we’re tuning in to hear his views!
-
KCole1133Love the pod and the YouTube channel but…..Hey guy I love the pod I’ve listened to ever episode for the last 4 seasons but the episodes y’all put out as pods while your on TV are trash
-
1019374Grating PersonalitiesPodcast is fine but some of their personalities grate on you after a while. Chip can be kinda annoying and petulant trying to get attention. Bud thinks everything he says is profound when it’s mostly boilerplate stuff and Danny is just what you’d expect.
-
Millennial OkieAmazing podcast and mailbag questionI love the energy that Chip brings to the podcast, and the chemistry that the guys all have makes it one of my favorite college football podcasts. Question: what are your thoughts on having a portion of the ticket sales going the to NIL program?
-
jackmehoff7777DannyI would bet Danny 100 dollars broncos will go over the 5 and half win total but we all know he wouldn’t pay up anyway
-
Depressed WVU FanDream On-Campus RoundNo other sports podcast hits like this one. While a first round bye in the playoff would be awesome, I think most fans this year find themselves salivating over the prospect of hosting a home playoff game in December. If you had control (within reason regarding talent level) of every seed of this year’s playoff from #5 to #12, how would you design the 4 craziest possible atmospheres?
-
Gmoney2474Chip needs to goChip needs to go. That’s it. Everyone else is good. Bud Elliott needs to also spruce up. Too many ads that are so long and a lot of cringe worthy transitions
-
tbhunter91Jerk Store CalledChip, Tom, and Danny seem like great guys. Unfortunately this rating is all for the other jerk. Go Huskies.
-
Big Money RobGreat podcastIf you watch college football you have to listen to this podcast during the week when college footballs not on. Been listening for years and years. Tom just made me spit out my beer imitating Ryan day calling out Lou Holtz ahahaha GO BLUE baby!
-
RaleighHeel1023Chip can’t pronounce Harrell…..A UNC alum can’t take the time to figure out how to properly pronounce a UNC football players name? Also did ya’ll cut off the actual analysis or the UNC QB battle or had you reached your maximum of 30 seconds spent about the heels in the month of August?
-
NateLiberty91Super duper awesome Mailbag QuestionGuys, what are the most fraudulent National Champions in CFB history? Let’s go before integration because, man oh man, it gets dicey early on because so many were kinda fraudulent. The 90’s Buffaloes team with the 5th down comes to mind immediately. The 97 Wolverines split also does because they hid behind the Big 10 rose bowl deal to dodge the last Osborne team led by the great Scott Frost (as a player…not as a coach lol.) That 2 loss LSU team comes to mind, too, because they never shoulda been there in the first place. A few of those late 2000’s-early 2010 SEC teams qualify too because they just had the ridiculous SEC benefit boosting them… Who else am I missing?
-
cjg887Mailbag QuestionLove the show, thank you guys for year-round coverage on all the FBS schools, not just top 25/P4 schools. Special shout out to Bud for increasing all of our ball knowledge with the Summer School episodes. My question stems from a conversation that you all had last year: When Jim Harbaugh got suspended for the final 3 games of the regular season, you all said that Michigan would be better-equipped than other programs to win games without their head coach on the sideline because Harbaugh wasn’t as much of a “gameday advantage” as some other coaches. Mike Norvell and Jeff Brohm were mentioned in the discussion last year; who are some other “gameday advantage” coaches and what is the reasoning? Is it just a matter of being the play-caller or is there another element to it? Thanks, keep rocking!
-
Bobby ZinsBud and Tom’s “Numbers”Hey Guys, Big Fan of the show and so excited win totals are starting which means CFB is almost here! Question: Bud and Tom frequently reference “their” numbers whether it be win totals or team statistical numbers, projections, matchups, etc Can you provide more insight into how they formulate these numbers or what goes into them? Is there a website that is avg Joe CFB nerds can use to run simulations? Thanks and Go Gators! -B Zinsmaster
-
KJFIIIBest CFB pod aroundThe most enjoyable, the most informative college football podcast. Period. Chemistry between hosts is undeniable, a beautiful mix of game knowledge, scouting chops and a love for the game. I look forward to each podcast drop, whether it be mid June or early November
-
TreySwaggart22Mailbag QuestionWill CFB ever have open practices? I feel that the sport would do better if every coach wasn’t so paranoid about their practices. What do y’all think? Thanks for being my source for the best CFB discussions in the sport!!!!
-
TheHarsinalWould OSU or Michigan have a top half QB in the SEC?Really enjoy the show! Love Bud’s countless hours of analytics only to be shown up by Chip-alytics. I’m a die hard Auburn fan and love the podcast. The Freeze Sleeze is our bee’s knees! Mailbag question: Would Michigan or OSU with Orji and Walker rank in the top half of the SEC in the 2024 season? The way I have the top 7 is: Unbiased opinion: 1. Beck 2. Ewers/Manning 3. Nico 4. Nussmeir 5. Milroe 6. Dart 7. Arnold (could be higher) 8. Mertz 9. Cook Would love to hear your thoughts and WDE!
-
Dijon87Great College PodcastLove the show 5* quality. For the life me Nebraska and Iowa needs to come off the last week on the season and play their rivalry game on Halloween weekend. They could have Halloween inspired alt uniforms and call the game, The Children of the Corn. The merch is selling as I speak. Side note I’m not a fan of either team (OSU fan here) but I love the college game and think it’d be the B1G version of the Red River Shootout. As people with access you have my permission to drop that nugget into ADs or coaches heads and can take full credit if it ever happens lol. Thoughts?
-
AaronCobb7Need some more Allstate 12 love!Huge fan of the shows. Been listening for a while now and I love that you guys are really CFB sickos, not just talking heads for the big brand schools in the B1G and SEC. My question is if the Big 12 has the best crop of QBs of any team in the country, and if it does, why can’t the conference get a little more national love. It sure seems like I see Big 12 QB names at the top of all the QB lists, and we all know QB is far and away the most important position. Thanks I look forward to listening to you all!

CLudMOOld Stud HS prospects still playing.Been listen since before Cam Rising was a freshmen. And I never miss an episode. Bud, you have killed summer school this year! So I have followed 247 recruiting fairly close over the years. There are a few names that I remember their being major hype about that are still playing in college where all of their recruiting are either playing in the NFL or went pro in something other than sports. What happened to guys like Julian Flemming and Justin Flow? Flemming was the number 1 WR and barely saw the field at Ohio State. flow was as one of the most physical players he had seen according to Bud, but did nothing at Oregon, and is battling for playing at Arizona now. Can they live up to their 5 star rankings still? Why didn’t they live up to their potential? I feel like we don’t see 5 stars flop in college very often so i can’t be the only one curious about this.
-
giorrgio agambenMailbag Question: Body Clocks!Hey guys, love you guys and the show! The 5 stars is not a formality for the mailbag but a legit review. Something I’ve been thinking about since last season when Colorado played a Big Noon Game at home last year, which I think was a 10 AM local kick. Is this body clock issue overrated?! These players are accustomed to waking up early in the morning for practice everyday right? Is playing a game at 9 AM (whether that’s based on body lock (circadian rhythms, had to slip that in) or a west coast team actually playing a home game at 9 AM) actually more aligned with what the players are accustomed to due to practice schedules?
-
PokeyHogFanMailbag QuestionHey Cover 3, I’m so excited to be getting closer to another season of the greatest sport on Earth. I have two quick questions for you guys for a mailbag. 1) Where does Bud vs. the mute button rank in the pantheon of college football rivalries? 2) One of the most fun things about college football is trash talking your rival fan bases. When it comes to trash talk, what do you guys think is more valid/effective; head to head results or total program history/tradition? If team A loses to team B the last 3 years, but team B has one 2 conference championships or a handful of playoff games in that same span, which team would be the “winner” in a trash talk battle?

OLD Grad in ParadiseNCAA Settlement/Realignment Impact on the service academiesLong time listener and enjoy every episode, especially the humor and camaraderie. The next time you examine the Service Academies could you do a deep dive on their future in FBS G5/potential P4 given all the earthshaking developments in CFB. The service academies don’t do NIL, but every player is on scholarship. All are in a G5 Conference. What will be the impact of unlimited scholarships & roster sizes on them. Could Army, Navy & Air Force be a consortium to replace ACC losses if “the Magnificent 7” move on to greener pastures? They are an academic fit for sure. What do you think?
-
Zach DerkLove the podLove the pod. Watch live on YouTube whenever possible. Question: How much of your season bankroll do you allocate to betting futures? Win totals, conference champs, playoff teams. Do you tie up 5? 10? 20%?? Until November-December? Go Noles!
-
Bored without SteveMailbagHey guys, I’m a fifteen year old diehard Nebraska fan whose only really experienced loosing seasons. When can I expect more wins and or playoff contention?
-
Michigan NoleMailbag: is a timeout worth 5 yards? So many times I see teams take a timeout on 1st and 10 when they are about to take a delay of game and then need a timeout at the end of the half and it’s not there. Is it really worth it? Obviously on 3rd or 4th and short I see the need, but overall is it?
-
jallen2347Sec realignmentLong time listener love the show! You guys mentioned that if the sec expanded it could be North Carolina and Virginia, but wouldn’t it be better if they went for the heels and Duke? They would greatly increase there basketball conferences and many other sports as well as add another historic rivalry and still give them competitive football programs that wouldn’t necessarily upset the powerhouses in football.
-
Mikez7245 star mailbagHey all, Love the pod, yada yada. Ok, to the point, are you taking +150 odds that 3 of 4 semi finalists this year begin with the letter “O”. No, not you Old Dominion. Thanks, Mike
-
kool cajun 99AwesomeEntertaining, informative and smart. No laughing to just fill time which I cannot tolerate. Good genuinely funny stuff especially from Danny. 😂
-
ericlw1234Mailbag QuestionIf it wasn’t insane enough that CFB 25’ rated Neyland Stadium #13 “toughest” stadium (lol), now I see the VOLS are the 14th rated SEC team in the game, only ahead of MSU and Vandy. Do you agree with EA Sports rating the VOLS near the bottom of the SEC? Also, Neyland is objectively the top 3 loudest stadiums, where would you rate it in terms of “toughest places to play”?
-
bob2457;654765Basically a P2 podcastAnd disappointed in that. We get SEC media day previews, mailbags, and reactions, similar for B1G but any coverage of ACC media days? Further proof for why FSU needs out of the ACC.
-
Msw5045Best in the business!Besides Jeremiah Smith, which freshmen are you most excited to see in action this year who could make an impact on a playoff-caliber team?
-
Snik TabCover 3 Best BallHi all, huge fan and love the show. I have seen Bud in several Underdog Best Ball drafts. What is the likelihood that we can get a Cover 3 live stream draft? Would love to see who the four of you see as good values and hear your opinions. Thanks!

UMass BandBilly Napier future with change in UF administrationHey Bud, Now that Ben Sasse has stepped down as University of Florida President and there is an interim person (previous President Kent Fuchs), do you feel this gives Billy Napier more breathing room? You’ve said you don’t feel Athletic Director Scott Stricklin would get to hire another Florida football coach. But would an interim University President be likely to make such an impactful move as firing/hiring an AD? And since Stricklin hired Billy Napier, would this uncertainty in UF leadership give the Gators coach another year, regardless of what happens on the field this Fall? Thanks for your time. Tim Anderson Amherst, mA

Steven_1321Mailbag QuestionConference realignment has only been about additions to conferences so far. Will there be a day when conferences start subtracting members? Once a school accepts a conference invitation, does it end with each media deal or is it irrevocable? If it is irrevocable could we see a day that a bottom feeding school is offered such a disproportionately low share of the revenue that they would make more money and be more competitive at a smaller conference so that they are heavily encouraged to leave? Example being the big 10 only giving a low offer of 20 mil knowing the school would be offered 25-30 by the big 12. From Steven in Savannah. (The train of thought comes from non productive scholarship players being encouraged to hit the portal)

Brycenwalker12Great Pod + QuestionGreat Podcast! The analysis is always spot on and the banter keeps it fun! Listening to Cover 3 has made me much more aware and knowledgeable about the wider college football landscape. Truly the best college football coverage! Question: When talking about Kalani Sitake and BYU football you always mention 2020 as the one year the Cougars popped off with an easy schedule and a QB taken 2nd overall. Why don’t you acknowledge the following year, which was even better in my opinion? BYU went 10-2 in the regular season with wins over Utah, Utah State, Virginia, USC, and Wazzu. The bowl game loss to UAB was definitely a number but BYU still finished ranked in the top 25. Why isn’t this acknowledged more when talking about the Sitake era at BYU?

Markbeede1Enough Of The Video GamePlease, for the love of God enough with the video game talk.
-
Alex PoochBest in classWhat’s up guys- long time listener of the pod. Used to be in the tailgate for every show during the WFH Covid days. Bud asked if we’d watch a live streamed game and I say- do one better… make it a four team playoff and live stream that. Seeding as follows; 1. Bud- for being in the credits 2. Tom- big ten for life 3. Chip 4. Find a Bama alumni and leave Noles Danny out. 5. Danny has to play Georgia with his 2nd/ 3rd stringers on Heisman. - coach Gym Hardbruh Head Coach at the University of Michigan. Go Blue!

PyatttttMailbag questionLove the pic and how it enhances my football viewing experience. My wife is pregnant so this might be the last season I get to really take in for the next 18 years. Question: is there any metric similar to the blue chip ratio that looks only at 5 stars? If the logic of the blue chip ratio is that to win a natty you have to have a high talent level, could there be similar logic that says you need a certain level of physical freaks to get that same mark?
