AppReviewTTExcellentOthers have said it better, but will add my applause. Just found this podcast. After hearing the fabulous interview with Donald Hoffman (entitled The Case Against Reality) I will definitely be listening to more After On. I’ve heard quality interviews with Hoffman several times before. This one is the best of them by far.

SufiboysVery engagingLove Ron’s voice. Both his actual voice and the sensibilities that animate his topics and their coverage. A little gem in podcastverse!
-

DispelledA Fantastic Podcast!Fantastic podcast! The podcast brings in a range of guests and topics that stretch across technology, science, and the nature and meaning of life. Rob Reid thoughtfully engages guests and topics; he is really effective at bringing the topics to life. The only downside of the show is Rob puts so much time into these episodes that they come in fits-and-starts. If you’re new to the podcast, there’s plenty of content that has maintained its relevance. Because of their depth and engaging quality, the episodes lend themselves to re-listening.

MKULTRA83Glad for the returnGreat podcast and host. Keep it up
-
Andyreader1969Fantastic!It is just delightful and so intellectually enriching to listen to this podcast, the host is as intelligent and articulate as the outstanding guests. This is a force for good in the world!

Huffer3220Perhaps THE best podcast there isHaving just marveled at the information in the Octopus (cephalopod) intelligence episode, I have to rave a bit. This installment is just another in a virtually uninterrupted run of home runs Rob Reid brings to us. Just browse through the topics and if you’re not drawn in, you don’t have a pulse. These are potentially life-changing revelations, and in aggregate will give you a glimpse of the future that you won’t get any other way. The episode before that about the BCG vaccine? I’m not exaggerating about that “life-changing” comment. Anyone in any danger from ANY respiratory infection (spoiler: that’s everybody) may likely alter their future for the better by finding a way to get this as a prophylactic. If you’re not made of wood, and have not been plugged into this show yet, you have been missing out. Make the time, take more more walks and dive in. (You’re welcome in advance)

Bob LBKAfter on podcastI first heard Rob Reid presenting a 3.5 hour presentation on existential threats on Sam Harris’s podcast. I was so impressed with Rob Reid as a presenter of diverse topics that I wanted more. So I googled him and have listened to all 56 current episodes of his After On podcasts which began in 2017. Every time I listen to an episode I learn something new such as space archaeology, Cryptocurrency, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, robotics, genetics, astronomy, Crispr, existensional threats, medicine and many other areas of Science and technology. Rob prepares 40 hours for each episode. He is so prepared about the subject and the interviewee that his interviews are more like hearing a very stimulating conversion. Rob has a way of paring down some of the difficult sciences, and technologies being discussed and presenting back to the listener explanations in lay language for listeners to easily comprehend. I recommend After On podcast to everyone. I already have two friends who are listening to episodes. Robert Dreyfus Longboat Key , Florida

Winston2356My new favoriteOver the last 10 years, I've tried at least a couple dozen science related podcasts. This is the best. Great depth, well produced, very knowledgeable host and very little politics. Even the titles are descriptive so I can easily find what I want to listen to. My only complaint is nit picky; the title "After On" is not exactly descriptive or memorable. Keep it up and I'll continue to support it.
-
greenguardFave!I’m generally a fan of nonfiction history and science podcasts. Mr. Reid has a well balance voice, excellent audio on all his recordings, seemingly endless and appropriate follow up questions, and a wide variety of guests. If I could give more stars I would.
-
RM_UTMind CandyFirst read Rob’s book if you enjoy science fiction. But even if you don’t you will love Rob’s in-depth conversations with scientists that give you a preview into what our cool future holds in store for us. You won’t regret the time investment.

GinderwoodMost Interesting Podcast!!Rob Reid interviews so many interesting people and I have felt my mind expanding. I appreciate the work it must take to put these together. It’s such an entertaining education for me to learn about fields I’m unfamiliar with like physics. I love listening and I’m so grateful it’s back and new episodes are coming! I Hope lots of people let him know how much we appreciate this podcast and the bonus material on Patreon!! So great.

Namaste_NYHope for humanity!I am a late comer to this podcast and I just had to write a 5 star review with many thanks to host Rob Reid for his dedication to bringing cutting edge discoveries and technologies into our awareness with such passion! The topics are fascinating and it is obvious that the host spends countless hours carefully researching the subject matters and selecting amazing guests who clearly appreciate the attention Rob puts into crafting these insightful interviews in a way that is accessible without being overly simplified. More than anything, these rich conversations give me hope for humanity! They are awe inspiring and great for lifting me out of the doom and gloom of current events, world news, and our insane political divide… Today for instance, I listened to episode 39 during my daily walk… the guest is professor EJ Chichinilsky who discusses how his work at Stanford could soon restore vision to the blind and potentially do much more! Everything I looked at, as I walked, became so interesting as the professor explained how visual information is processed! I highly recommend this podcast to anyone looking for captivating conversations about technological and scientific advances that will greatly impact our future!

Andy Galloway IIIMind-blowing contentThis is all cutting-edge science content, no new-age goofiness, but as mind-blowing as any new-age theories you can find. 🤯
-

-
ScyriousFinally back! One of the most informative podcasts out.AfterOn has been one of my favorite edutainment podcasts hitting that seldom achieved long form podcast formats while never seeming to long. Depth in content and the stellar lineup of guests will ensure you walk away with a better understanding of the very eclectic range the subject matters covers. Years later, I still reference interviews to others who are exploring scientific concepts.

KeepItCheapMiss the showWish there were more.

dhkhgedggAbsolutely Amazing and EducationalRob Reid consistently presents a wonderfully educational podcast that is always a pleasure to listen to. While I didn’t read “After On” (and likely won’t as Science Fiction isn’t my area), this podcast is for anyone who enjoys learning about the technology of tomorrow that people today are working on.
-
thejacobhSuch a smart showI am so impressed with the way Rob is able to make you feel like you learned so much without going into so much detail that you are confused! I would love to hear him talk with an expert about the Covid-19 pandemic!
-
Justin ElstrottExcellent deep dives into fascinating topicsThoughtful interviews with top notch guests. The longer interview format allows for a nuanced discussion of complex ideas.
-
DrosomycinThis podcast has climbed to the top of my favorite list.Well researched, just the right amount of detail. Rob Reid asks insightful questions that drives the conversations organically. He is curious about a wide variety of things so the episodes cover an interesting array of subjects both near and far from my expertise (which is cell biology). This is the first podcast to which I’m going to donate my limited $$. Keep it up!!
-
AFlores444Just helping outI love your podcast man, great content! You’re doing an amazing job!
-
DabaDeeSimply the bestQuite simply the most interesting podcast available. Rob makes easy access into some of the most brilliant and innovative minds available to us interested mortals. There is no better way to convert your otherwise wasted commuting time into knowledge of cutting edge science than by getting mentally absorbed by these interviews
-
patrickwalLove this podcast - I frequently repeat listeningsOnly frustrations involve the long lag times between podcasts at times. Which is another way of saying how much I love these conversations, which I would describe as “accessible, but still steep conversations”, and well worth the attention and effort. Highly recommended - great guests and discussions, and Rob is a superb host.
-

RawzkidReally interesting topics and discussionI’ve literally listened to the Don Hoffman interviews 10 times. Just Excellent!
-
Brant FetterSeriously fun, smart, and inspirational.Rob Reid started the podcast saying he was new to this and doesn’t really know what he’s doing, but I think he has everyone fooled, at least initially. I think he’s done a fantastic job of providing inspirational and thought-provoking interviews with brilliant guests, that truly need to be heard. I especially like the underlying focus on tech but it’s not the limit. I’m inspired and appreciative. That’s also why I subscribe and contribute to his patreon account. I hate ads and endorsements, and Rob’s done a great job of avoiding that, generally. The most recent patronage of a VC firm seems to work well with his ethos and the content of the podcast, so as long as we stick with this format, I’ll keep contributing.
-
NatedugiturnerOne of the bestProbably one of the best prepared interviewers I’ve ever heard. Amazing guests. Fascinating science. Somehow manages to feel both very advanced and very accessible. One of my favorites! Hope it’s around for a long time.
-
DaneGHEye-opening, articulate, immersiveHard to overstate how relevant, engaging, and altruistic these discussions are. Thank you Rob and guests!
-

YGlenMind B L O W N ...… my new favorite science podcast!
-
leemsparksExceptional WorkAfter On is an onslaught of mind expanding jaunts into technological topics that are educational, insightful, and above all, thought provoking. It’s clear in the quality of work here that Rob puts countless hours of effort into curating his content, choosing his guests carefully, and asking the right series of questions that allow experts in their fields the opportunity to speak more understandably to the lay-person, while still respecting the audience as intelligent technologists themselves who don’t need things dumbed down to simplicity. I have only been listening a short time and am slowly making headway through the backlog of episodes, but I already consider this to be one of the best Podcasts I have ever come across. I’ve become informed on topics that I have wanted to learn about for years without the medium to easily do so, and been inspired to take on my own creative work as a result. Rob, please keep up the good work - you’re doing an invaluable community service to society and mankind by spreading knowledge of these topics.
-
sultrydeerProvocative conversationsGood food for thought on a wide variety of engaging topics. Looking forward to future episodes as I make my way through the backlog.
-
