nmf005Elite but not ElitistI’ve been listening to Alyssa and Haley on this podcast since they began recording 3 years ago, and they’re one of the most consistently entertaining, polite, and professional podcast hosts of all of the podcasts I listen to. They bring a variety of guests on the show, from experts (and the credentials to back it!) to Ironman champions. While they are Ironman champions and professional athletes themselves, they always keep it real and never have an elitist tone. A range of appeal to all listeners! Now this podcast has split out into several sub-podcasts: Hit Play not Pause, If We We’re Riding, and The Ironwomen Podcast, which was the genesis of this account. The If We Were Riding Podcast has gone through a few iterations and hosts, and right now it consists of up to 5 people, two of which are less informed and often have hot takes without knowing all of the information, which I find very difficult to listen to and has made me stop listening. The Ironwomen podcast is still my favorite, however, and I never miss an episode!

Wyatt D. HarrisStruggleThe dialog is hard to follow and it lacks substance. If you don’t know the personal backgrounds of the podcasters it’s tough to understand what they’re talking about. I’ve tried to get into this a few times and it’s just not great. The Ironwomen pod is much better.

CSfromCOHere for SidMore Sid, less Kelly interrupting Sid- otherwise great. We need this pod for non-bro ego takes on tri.

JcwallerWonderful interviewsThe interviews are great and I really enjoyed the one with Laura Matthews. Professional Triathlete while pursuing a PhD. Wow. Very inspiring.

yarnnnnnn.Love Ironwomen!!I have absolutely loved the Ironwomen Podcast since finding it a few years back. Haley & Alyssa are both incredible athletes, & also genuine people & excellent hosts. I love hearing their personal updates, the way they vibe with each other and their guests, & the excellent conversations with a range of guests. Thanks to this inspiring podcast, I’ve discovered many amazing athletes that further inspire me. Keep on podcasting, & thank you!!

DJ in HtownGreat podcast discussions and interviewsI love listening to Alyssa and Haley, as they discuss their own race experiences and interview other female athletes. I have been introduced to so many female athletes and can now cheer for so many more. I really like learning everyone’s stories! Keep up the great interviews. It is almost like getting to listen to friends just chat and learn more about one another- while I also get to learn from more experienced racers about various events and racing strategies that I was not privy to before.

Cathleen KGreat company for a run!I love listening to Alyssa and Haley and their guests. I usually listen on a run and it feels like catching up with old training partners. Their interviews have introduced me to more women in sport that I want to cheer for and support. Great job!

Betty JanelleTrials & TriathlonI listen to Ironwomen Podcast every week but have never written a review. So here we go! Haley and Alyssa do a fantastic job finding amazing women to interview every week. Their research is astounding and the topics are always totally relevant. Locating and scheduling Victoria Anderson this week was an example of them working so very hard to find women that will add value to our lives. Victoria’s story of participating in the Astra Zeneca Covid trial was fascinating and loved her willingness to give back by enrolling in the trial. As Haley and Alyssa stated afterwards, the vaccines, thanks to people like Victoria, gives me so much HOPE! Also, her update on the gender equality at ITU Multisport World Champs was so wonderful to hear. Super opportunities for women in triathlon! Last, Haley’s mini episodes during Covid were fantastic and much appreciated as we all navigated an unknown world. Thank you Haley and Alyssa for your continued good work on the podcast!

alma brllnteA rare weekly listenThis is one of the very few podcasts I make sure I listen to every week. Alyssa and Haley are great hosts, I often feel like I’m just hanging out with some friends talking about races. I appreciate learning from their guests from different areas of the multi sport and endurance communities

Jt appSo refreshingThis podcast is fantastic. I love listening while I’m in the car, riding the trainer, running, and walking to work. The ladies talk about real issues and helping to develop the female athlete. They are working to develop mind, body and spirit while promoting equal opportunities for women i sport. It’s funny, entertaining and educational! Thanks ladies!

Ashlehartmn ohioNeeded. Funny. Empowering. This podcast is so necessary. I completely agree we need female pro athlete role models. This podcast not only has helped me on my own triathlon journey but also encouraged me to advocate for women in sport.

Cassie TripldiCould Listen to you bada$$ ladies chit chat all day long.Since I usually train around 15hours a week, atleast 10hours being aerobic cardio, podcasts rule my existence during these hours in a way. I truly love your podcast and believe I have listened to atleast 30 plus episodes in the past two months, great stories & I enjoy how you stay on topic which a lot of podcasters don’t!!! I am a age group triathlete and even though most of your inter-view-eys (is this a real word?) are mostly pros or retired pros they speak about very relatable issues for someone like myself on a lower platform. My favorite episodes are with Holly Benner and of course Stacy Sims. Keep on keeping it real!

SaveSeaLifeLove love loveYou ladies rock and give so much inspiration. I start out my long runs listening to this podcast. Keep up the good work. The only thing that I don’t love is the new intro. Let’s not focus on the past....but on the future of where women are going.
-
66cabotA lot of product pushing!!!I listened to the opening dialogue and mailbag questions for 35 minutes before you got to the interview. The ads for the sunscreen and Nuun are so repetitive and tiresome! I did at one point LOVE your podcast until now. :/ I never review anything but felt the need to tell you so that maybe you’d bring back your old format with less advertising. I understand the need to do it, but it was too much.

Julie BockeyMust listen more!Loved the ones I have downloaded ... particularly with MBKessler.... she got me through a tough long ride before my first (only) IM. Looking forward to more video coverage as well at races! You guys ROCK! 💙💙💙

Courtney LovegreenThis is a must for all lady triathletes! This podcast is awesome! 2 professionals in this sport that come from different back grounds, and they train different due to living locations. Between the 2 I think they have tried every running, biking, hiking, snow shoeing, swim-run, ultras out there. They have awesome sponsors! I have purchased over $100 worth of nuun with the ironwomen 30% discount, and just bought my racing kit from smash Queen with a $10 discount. These ladies talk about raw topics we are all wondering about. They bring in and interview some of the biggest names from all genres. I enjoy listening to these ladies on the treadmill or on the trainer. They make an hour go by fast and they created a podcast for the listeners and not to publicize their names. Love these ladies! Thank you Alyssa & Haley!
-
DailyphdFantastic!I found out about this podcast while listening to Triathlon Taren. I listened to an episode and have been binge listening ever since. I love it so much! In very much an amateur triathlete but its super inspiring to hear the pros talk about the challenges they face. Also, as a Mom of a 15 month old, I love all the Mom perspectives as well. Great job ladies!!! Keep’em coming!
-
qdrunnerI love ironwoman podcast!I’m finally caught up to date on this podcast and love listening to it weekly. I myself love racing and competing but I’d have a long way to go before I earned a pro card. At my last race I saw Haley glide by me on the run for a win! Such an inspiration. I highly recommend this podcast!
-
Tucson daveIron WomenI love the Iron Women podcast! The topics are fascinating and the guests so inspiring. Keep up the great work!!
-
ccsaleebaThe best!!I absolutely love this podcast! I save them all for my long runs and it makes me feel like my BFFs are running right there with me! I love triathlons, but definitely am not winning races weekly, but the topics, guests and hosts are all so relatable and so interesting! Thanks for putting together a great show!! It’s the only one I look forward to on a weekly basis!

AlexisNTexasA VERY needed voice for times like this!Alyssa and Haley are entertaining and informative. Educated and well prepared for every interview. The depth and breadth of guests keep me constantly entertained and challenged to increase my awareness of the issues, topics and women at the forefront of triathlon. AND, they make me laugh and keep me company on my runs. Triathlon is a better place of women because of this podcast.

nighthawk24601Amazing hosts & interesting guestsI’m a former swimmer and causal runner, but I can’t get enough of this podcast. I have enjoyed learning more about triathlons as many of my friends do them, and one of my best friends is a pro triathlete. Alyssa and Haley are excellent hosts - both in terms of their delivery and the way they gel with each other and the guests. Keep up the great work, ladies!
-

S from VAFun and InformativeIf you are a triathlete (or aspiring triathlete) or a fan of the sport of triathlon, this is the podcast for you! You'll learn a lot through interviews with the pros, race recaps, and more, and the hosts are down to earth and funny. It's a very enjoyable listen!

TriathletebVery entertaining!I have really been enjoying these podcasts. They are good length for short runs but last week I had a few saved up to get me through a long run. They entertain me and but also educate me. I especially appreciate all relatable the hosts and guests are even though I am a MOP age grouper at best!
