    3.5-3.75 stars
Acting-good Storyline-really good Writing-could of been better I skipped foward cause I was sick of waiting for porter to tell his secret and then u gotta put up with the secret waiting all over again with Dax 🤦‍♂️.. It’s one of those shows that u shake ur head and say why would u or wouldn’t u do that, very frustrating but I guess that makes a show. so I gave it a 3.75 for bringing out emotions in me, not good emotions but I felt something

    Bro I hate Porter
I listen to a lot of audio drama podcasts while I work and I honestly don’t mind if the acting isn’t like super amazing or the story isn’t realistic. I can really appreciate all the work that goes into these shows and honestly people can only get better. Listening made my crap job fly by so it’s good in my book. But Porter OH MY GOD he’s such an unlikable character. I get he’s been through a lot but he just comes across as a whiny, immature, little boy child. I don’t see what The girls saw in him. Like what is so good about porter?? And every time he’s about to have seggs he has the dumbest lines that make me wanna go PORTER YOU BUTTHEAD SHUTUP

The voice acting was so stilted I couldn’t even finish one episode.

    FANTASTIC
Holy cow…. This thing draws you in from the very first episode. The author is a gifted storyteller. Her prose is fluid and effortless writing the way a natural dialogue would flow. The storyline is gripping and compelling. You know you’ve found a good podcast when the end of an episode sneaks up on you. Highly recommended along with the other works from Observer Pictures

Satisfying in a “How Did This Get Made?” way
Logic is basically out the window in this fairly outrageous series that won’t have you asked “Whodunit” but WHY?!?!?! Character reactions, motivations and decision-making resemble nothing even close to real life and the action seems to take place in a world where law enforcement, communication red flags, news coverage and an understanding of the medical/therapeutic fields barely exist — but all are played with such seriousness that it’s incredibly fun to listen to. You may scratch your head multiple times— but you’ll laugh too. Irresistible.

    Just alright I guess
Because I’ve run out of podcasts to listen to, this just plays in the background while I work. It was alright until the constant “love you mister”. We get it. It’s so ridiculous to me and crocs get having to hear “love you mister”every 5 seconds that I’ve just had to scrap the podcast.

    Most underrated Drama Fiction Podcast
How did I not know about this. If you like drama podcasts like the black tapes, tumanbay, all the qcodes and wondery’s then do not miss this. This is sooo good. Thank you Faith and the team for putting this masterpiece. Hope apple podcast features this podcast someday. 💯💯💯💯💯

This is one of, if not the best, audio drama I’ve heard so far.
Title says it all. Extremely good, hooked from the beginning.

    Refreshing Change!
As one who listen to this podcast during the Covid pandemic, the last thing I wanted to do was listen to a Nother apocalyptic or speculative fiction podcast. What a nice change. I truly appreciated the storyline and all of the work that went into this podcast; four seasons! I did find the characters a little entitled and whiny, particularly Porter but then that just means the suspension of disbelief was working really well. I would definitely listen to another podcast by this team and especially the creator of the podcast. Great job!

    Contemporary and Realistic
It’s so fresh to find a fiction podcast that is in a realistic contemporary setting. I hope we get more shows like these. Goodshow. Good cast.

    Season 4?
The first 3 seasons were absolutely phenomenal.. not sure what happened with the 4th season, it is a total train wreck! Not exactly sure what the writer was trying to accomplish, it was boring and utter garbage
  • SocialMediaBossLady
    Season 4
The way it ended wasn’t captivating at all. I think it was stretched too far ... and lost its feel... and the last episode seemed like you were trying to feel potholes in the story with epilogues 🙃 #mythoughts. Please return the fire it had in Season 1
  • Genevajeff
    It ended with a fizzle
Sorry but the last season was a disappointment. I would rewrite and try again

    Gripping
    Interesting story with complex characters

    Extremely good!
Love the pod! I did find all the main characters (except Dax) extremely unlikeable & annoying--especially Porter! That hot temper and lack of respect for the people in his life make him extremely unlikeable

    Good but not great
The story is entertaining & it started out great! Season 3 started to become so cheesy. Some of the voice acting is painful, like Dax and Luke. Don’t even get me started on Myra’s awful songs. Also, Porter’s character is so unlikable! He’s either whining or being a jerk to everyone around him. The only solid characters are the lawyer and Dr. Abbott because they sound the most natural. I’m hoping season 4 is better and closer to the first two seasons, fingers crossed!

    👍🏼👍🏼
Amazing voice acting and storyline! This podcast will definitely keep you on your toes and have you begging for more after each episode!

    Weird
There’s nothing believable or likable about the story or characters, nothing anyone says or does is logical or realistic.
  • LadyLaw12
    Excellent StoryTelling
The Boom podcast is excellently told and I NEED season 4! Please provide updates on when it will be available.
  • weirdostephy
    Love it
Great storytelling that keeps you at the end of your seat. I can’t wait to find out how this story ends.
  • Craft Matters
    Poor Characterization
In terms of speech, thoughts, and actions, the characters tend to skew heavily toward whiny, self-entitled stereotypes. Whether talking about the protagonist or antagonists, who has a community where these sociopathic behaviors are depicted as normal? Further, the ostensible people of color are flat caricatures who only serve the needs of more prominent characters and still the voices come across as servile. The investigator is an amped up rehash of every over-the-top procedural drama on TV. In terms of suspense, mystery, and action, podcasts such as Carrier, Homecoming, Sandra, Passenger List, and The Amelia Project price a much better use of your limited time and energy.

    10/10 Worth Binging
Was in the mood to find an audio drama to listen to, randomly chose this one and am very happy. All other shows will need to live up to this now and I doubt they can. Great work to everyone that’s involved with this show!!!
  • jenveee
    Different
It’s nice to listen to a story that’s not horror or sci-fi. Story can be a bit dark but it’s pretty good. Still recommend

    Well done
I love this podcast. I love audio dramas and this one really keeps me on the edge of my seat and look forward to every episode.

    LOVE IT!
So glad I found this podcast! I love audio dramas but wanted something that wasn’t just sci-fi! This fit the bill!
  • RelayEMS
    Fast paced
I like the short episodes and quick pace. The acting isn’t the best, and I wish they’d stop including weird mouth noises (kissing, etc), but the story is original and enjoyable.

Wish I found this sooner. AMAZING!
stumbled onto Boom thanks to a tweet by KC Wayland (We’re Alive). Didn’t know what to expect and boy was I blown away. Truly amazing show with a unique way of story telling. Can’t wait for season 4, and hopefully many more. Murder, Drama, Mental Health, National Parks, what’s not to love?!
  • Katy88j
    Porter is annoying
Unsympathetic and not very bright main character.
  • Scofflaw1074
    Low rate acting and music
Great writing and storyline but the voice acting is embarrassing at times, especially Dax, Luke, Porter’s dad...just awful. And Myra’s songs/singing? Ridiculously bad songs and performances; some interludes on acoustic guitar are below amateur, so bad. Combined with bas voice acting it takes away from the realism of story b/c they’re so bad. Also episodes are way too short, annoyingly so.

Great Writing; Great Execution; Great Story
I have usually just listened to self-help podcasts. After chance caused me to stumble upon this drama series, I have introduced it into my regular rotation. Listening during my evening workouts, I am now four episodes into the third season. I am enjoying each episode, still eager for the next, as the thickening plot and building conflict distracts my mind from the physical resistance of fitness. Overall, well done Faith, cast and crew!

    ORIGINAL!!!!
In a world of 1500 podcasts basically being a copy of 1500 other podcasts it is so refreshing to find something that will pull me into a space and keep my attention with originality and intensity. Way to go y'all!!!!
  • tmilli4077
Good story but too brief per episode
It's a pretty good storyline but the episodes are so brief (Usually less than 10 min). The intro is about 30 seconds & then the ads, music, etc at the end is about 2 min. As a result I'm not able to get much of a task done before going back to my phone to skip to the next one. There's not enough meat here to have done more than 1-2 seasons. Logically, I think each episode should be about 40 minutes & have less seasons.
  • Poohpig
Get rid of hubby and dogs!
If they leave me alone I can finish this!!!! It is SO good!!!
  • Brad.Oxnam
    Fantastic drama
BOOM! is a well-written psychological drama that will have you clamoring for the next episode !
  • MadDad33
    Keeps getting better
The guy who plays Luke is amazingly good. The Luke-POV episode in season 3 is my new favorite.
  • all names are used
    Can’t wait!
I just binge listened to all three seasons and now that I’m all caught up I can hardly wait until the next one comes out!!
