This is my third year listening and Mike and mike always serve up the best dosage of moviemaking fun alongside intelligence and humor. This is my favorite awards season podcast. The gambling odds are the best, even though I have no idea how to find a bookie or bet, I always laugh along with them as they plow through Vegas’s inane odds. Thanks mike and mike for a thoroughly enjoyable awards season stop off. David is my favorite guest by far.

Hi I’ve been a long time listener of the podcast and love both of your takes on the film industry and awards races as a whole. I recently attended SXSW for the eighth time since 2016 and it was for the most part a pretty decent year as far as the film lineup goes. However, I just wanted to inform you guys in case you didn’t already know that we should probably take many of the reviews coming out of here with a BIG grain of salt if they are from the huge industry trades owned by Penske Media (I.e. Variety, Deadline, Hollywood Reporter, IndieWire etc.). When SXSW nearly went bankrupt after cancelling in 2020, Penske Media bought a 50% stake in SXSW, and therefore the festival gets immense coverage and the trades are generally extra favorable in their coverage of it. That’s not to say there are always some real gems that play SXSW, and it’s a great time nonetheless. I just think some of it is getting overhyped due to the interests involved. Still love listening to your podcast each week and look forward to your continued coverage.

Both Mikes are great. They have a great rapport that pulls you in and keeps you entertained while they discuss movies, those who make movies, and the awards associated with movies. I think this show has a lot of staying power, and it’s a good companion during long car trips. It was easily accessible to me as a new listener, and I appreciated that it stands apart from other movie review podcasts with its specific, understandable premise: It’s a podcast about movies that, according to the show description, “celebrate[s] the Oscars by making awards season year round.” I will add that they discuss awards other than the Oscars as well, such as Golden Globes, BAFTA, PGA, etc.

The hosts mirror, my conversation about movies with my friends. Start talking deeply about the themes of the film and then somehow it’s lead to what meal we had at night. The Mikes are awesome. Great film podcast.

As a listener of many film/Oscar podcasts, these Mikes definitely have a rapport of their own and a dialogue unlike any other. As someone who doesn't live in a metropolitan area to see the latest films, I turn to podcasts for different perspectives of the film scene at large, East coast to West. Thanks for your dedication and hard work, Mike & Also Mike. Maybe someday when I grow up I'll be a podcaster like you.

No other Oscars/movie podcast is as consistently entertaining. Mike and Mike mix the personal and information about the movie industry better than any other podcast. I even listen to most of the horror movie episodes, and I don’t care about horror movies. Thanks for the information and the laughs!

Though I like the show for it’s Oscar predictions and box office talk, I’ve long ago stopped listening to the review shows. You know when a critic likes what you like it becomes a handy guide but I disagree so much with M&M say and think that I just don’t find their reviews to be useful

It’s such a refreshing Oscar conversation to listen to! Mike and Mike are real people who love the Oscars and love talking about movies. Listening to them and their guests is like stepping into time machine and going back to a time when you used to just love talking about movies….before college when life makes you cynical and teaches you to hate everything. I love listening to every minute of this show because it reminds me why I love talking about movies!

I like the content and the hosts but one is screaming all the time and the other is super quiet. It’s very hard to listen to. Something needs to be altered with the sound levels or the one Mike needs to be aware of his volume.

There aren't many shows explicitly Oscars or Oscars adjacent that I'd say I enjoy. After all, I haven't watched the Oscars in years. Yet, MMO somehow makes the Oscars exciting again because they cover the year in film in a way that the Oscars themselves can't. This is a deep dive into the world of cinema, from production to casting to all the bits between. The show is fun, informative, and, honestly, way more interesting than the actual Oscars. So if you want a different way of exploring awards season, give this show a shot.

Ansel Elgort’s case is different than the ones you mentioned. He has one anonymous accuser. We don’t know if he did this. He had just turned 20. If This was over 5 years ago. We really don’t know what happened. I agree we should believe women but this case is very shaky and I don’t think we should bring out the pitchforks toward Ansel Elgort. More info needed. More reports need to come out. This isn’t Salem.

The quality and sheer volume of what these guys put out is astounding. Everything they do is solid but definitely check out their series re-watches, the Halloween and MI re-watches are where they truly shine.

Engaging and entertaining!

This podcast is a lot of fun to listen to and it’s clear these guys have a blast putting it together.

These guys have an infectious quality to their podcast. It’s like the old sport radio show Mike and the Mad Dog with the same energy and opinions except for movies. The are prolific and research their stuff. They do deep dives into a wide area is subjects like Quentin Tarantino and his films, media streaming services, Oscar insights, and the politics and ecosystem of Hollywood movie production. I think it’s worth adding to your weekly listening list if you want unvarnished opinions about the world of movies.

While I am heartbroken there is no “Oscar” in this bunch it is a fun listen! Any show who can make me laugh sitting in traffic on I-95 during rush hour deserves more than 5 stars!

I don’t get to the movies often but this podcast covers so much that whether I see a small indie Oscar hopeful or a mainstream blockbuster, they cover it in a hilarious and analytical way! Plus they have news shows that keep me in the loop of anything I do miss. Clearly 2 guys that love their craft! If you like movies you have to hear this show!

Mike and Mike are extremely knowledgeable about movies and are an absolutely hysterical duo. They’ve got podcasts on the latest movies and classics so there’s something for everyone. I love their Oscar roundups to gear up for award season so I know which movies to watch and skip. They put a ton of effort into their podcasts and it really shows!

Where to start? This is a podcast that has absolutely no respect for its audience. They average roughly 3 hour long podcasts a week, which would normally be fine if these guys had anything to say. Instead, your feed gets bogged down by nonsense. Their idea of a non-spoiler review is to tell you about budgets, actors, crew, anecdotes about production, etc. That's not a review of anything, that's just a statement of facts. Countless other podcasts are able to speak generally about a film and then segue into spoiler filled thoughts, take a page from them. The Oscar speculation episodes are nothing more than 2 guys regurgitating what they've read from countless media outlets online and passing it off as an opinion. Cut back to 1 podcast a week, perfect that, then expand from there.

You should definitely check out Mike, Mike and Oscar! They are two sweet, funny, crazy smart guys who talk so in-depth about so many aspects of film! I didn’t even know there were so many things to talk about! Make any day an Oscar Party with Mike, Mike and Oscar!

Smart film podcast. One of the hosts is a screenwriter so you get a unique take on the industry. Great podcast. A staple in my rotation.

Mike 1 and Also Mike are a weekly fixture in my ears and bring all the banter that appeals to all of my sensibilities. Their ability to stuff so much show in a little over an hour without leaving almost anything on the table is impeccable. Their timing is great, the comedy is great, and their vigor for talking movies, and I mean all movies is awesome. Their super interactive, love to play games with their audiences and don’t hold back the shoutouts either. Super engaging and super fun. These guys would be 10 star worthy is that was an option especially when they start to introduce a special Guest “Mac” episode every couple of months. Lol. #Kolbytoldme
