Women Who Dare

61

Kerry Gross figured the best way to find stories of inspirational women would be to go meet them herself. So, she packed her panniers and set off to meet and interview women whose lives have inspired others. This was the start of a 5-month mostly bike-powered journey from California to Maine. The Women Who Dare podcast tells the story of Kerry's 5,700-mile ride and features her interviews with remarkable women.

    Wonderful adventure podcast!
I’m a bit of a late adopter on this podcast- I saw it a couple of years ago but only just around to listening to it (I’ve heard all the episodes about the ride and am still working my way through the interview). Wow!! I love the super relatable tales from the road (I’ve traveled solo a bunch and biked across the US in 2013) and all of the amazing people you meet and experiences you have motivate me to want to get out on a self-supported bike tour! Thanks for your tireless work at sharing important stories, your lens of anti-racism, your consistent acknowledge of your own privileged viewpoint, and the effort and energy in creating this podcast— an everyday way to get inspired!

    Awesome and essential
Just on episode 2 but loving the adventure and interviews. It reminds me of all the miles I cycled as a teen and woman in my 20s, leading teens on bike tours. Looking forward to following Kerry Gross across the country and listening to her interviews with all these strong amazing women.

    Fascinating and inspirational
I'm a lot older than Kerry Gross, but I have always dreamed of riding my bike across the United States. I am living vicariously through Kerry's stories. In the short term, I signed up for the "Tour de Tahoe," a 72-mile bike ride around Lake Tahoe. I might not have been inspired to do so had I not listened to Kerry's podcast. Keep riding and telling us your story, Kerry.

    Wonderful storytelling!
Kerry has a gift for telling stories, and she puts it to great use in both the interviews and the episodes describing her trip. Don't miss this fresh new voice.

Why not get an uplift of fresh air
I am a person that is recovering from knee replacement surgery and my new best friend hip/s bursitis (hmmm fun stuff) ... soooo I am forced to battle the brain for space to believe I will one day return to long bicycle tour days ... and what happens now I get to travel vicariously with Kerry on all her adventures and interviews ... this has been a gold doubloon I found on the podcast beach that has made a life saver full of encouragement ... so to say I love this podcast and highly recommend this would be a understatement ... do yourself a solid listen and tell all your friends about the gold of women who date!

    Inspirational and motivational!
Kerry Gross is following in the footsteps of Terry Gross! Each episode in her debut podcast is filled with wonderful fresh air, whether the air of the interesting and accomplished women she’s interviewed or the air Kerry enjoys on her bike as she pedals across the country from one to the next. Well worth a listen!

    What a great listen
Love this show, it makes me want to take the summer off and ride. I’ve been recommending it to all they young people in my life. It’s a good listen for everyone but I think it could really inspire greatness in a 16 year old wondering where to go in life.

    Snakes and Stoke
This podcast has taken priority over all of the rest of the backlog in my library. I love Kerry's narrative style and honesty. We binged several episodes on the way back from Tahoe last weekend and the incedent with the expired serpent had me giggling! I'm glad to hear move voices adding visiblility for all of the rad women in the outdoor community. Keep Killing it Kerry!

This podcast begins to fill the longstanding void in inspiring women’s stories. Vital for both women and men to hear, particularly young women starting to make their way through the world.

    Carol Hasse: Adventurer, Sailmaker
Wonderful interview with Carol Hasse! I could have listened to her story for hours. My husband and I had the great fortune to have Carol and her talented staff make a suite of sails for our Shannon 38 in 2004. The sails were a work of art! What an interesting life she has led.
