    Sci-fi comfort food
This is intelligent, thoughtful and joyful coverage of some of the best (and worst) in sci-fi media. I’ve discovered material I’d never heard of. I’ve learned some philosophy. The current hosts are a great pairing, with passion for the content and clearly having a lot of fun with the show. It’s one of my favorite feeds.

I haven’t listened for awhile, takes 40 minutes to get to the fun philosophy part nowadays
So, the hosts act like Richard Stanley hasn’t done much, yet he has made Hardware, Dust Devil and amazing docs. Then, the hosts put down Wicca when a quick Google search would show the LBRP that Lavinia is doing. I haven’t listened for awhile, has the quality gone down? Plus, there’s more than two POC the film. Podcast needs to fact check. I miss Thomas on here. He was the glue that kept this from off roading too much, IMHO. It takes 40 minutes of ok joking to get to any philosophy and by then, I check out mentally. I barely hung on to the BNCF episode. :(

    Just the BEST
This is an amazing podcast, and this episode is just the best

    Fascinating
Very interesting, gives me new insight into the sci-fi I love.

    Excellent
Smith is entertaining and has a wealth of podcasting experience, and Rabi has a deep knowledge of philosophy. Combine those with nerd pop culture and its a philosopher's dream. Also helps me find new movies/books that I might have missed with great voidy themes.

    Fake woke
The performative wokeness makes this show at time un listenable. Being a stick I’m the mud doesn’t make you an ally. It makes you a phony.

    How?
I can’t see why this podcast has so many positive reviews. This is a case of the worst possible people getting to a great idea first. I live Sci Fi and philosophy. This is an abomination of mutually masturbatory unlikable wannabes. The show is 50% two unfunny ‘personalities’ telling each other they have worth, and 50% crapping on the accomplishments of people with actual talent. Two white guys congratulating each other on being woke. They are still witless, castrated Jerry’s.

    Needs more lists
This show is great. If the title sounds good (at least in the Top Gun sense), this might be your jam. Definitely not enough lists, though. They could really spend more time going through lists. For example, which cults does this cult have better orgies than?

    Fantastic
The show is a great guide to many familiar and some new episodes of classic Sci-Fi. I found it via Opening Arguments, another gem featuring Thomas Smith. Keep up the good work!

    Thoroughly enjoyable
I've learned more philosophy from this show than all the interviews of Daniel Dennett, Massimo Pigliucci and countless other professors. Aaron and Thomas break down topics in a digestible way, focusing on a piece of fiction to demostrate them. And yet, I still am not quite sure what Anathem was about.

    Could be so much better
If Thomas Smith would stay quiet ( he’s not funny) there would be so much more time for the good analysis that can be found here. Recommended if you can get past Smith.

    Taking philosophy to nerd culture
Thomas is a great interviewer (see any of his dozen other podcasts for more examples), Aaron has great philosophical insight. They are both nerds who bring interesting takes on nerd culture by taking apart movies and TV and trying to bring a new way to look at things we all love. The cast is always a delight to listen to and often a new take on things I thought I knew.

I want to be in the audience on a live podcast!
These guys & their audience are my people. My grandpa told me stories: based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs & Jules Verne that he read. So anyway, here I am & I really like this podcast.

    Satire of a Satirist
I have always been a lover of science fiction, scyfy, sci fi, and fantasy. I have never been a lover of philosophy. But now Thomas has taught me that I hate all movies and Aaron has taught me that by embracing the void created by that hate, I can philosophize.

    Great show.
I enjoy this podcast immensely and much like opening arguments the cohost makes up for Thomas smiths lack of funny. I enjoy all of his shows but he isn’t funny. He does great shows though and this one gets top marks. Sometimes wish it was interactive.

    Beyond Logic
As Frank Herbert wrote in Dune, "Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic." That one step, is Philosophers In Space.

    Great podcast
This is a great podcast if you enjoy intellectual discussions and science fiction. I love both of the host’s perspectives. The podcast has also encouraged me to read and watch some science fiction books and shows that I might not have necessarily been exposed to for a long time. However, I would say that my favorite part of the show is the music. It is so fun. You should definitely check this out.

    Fun with philosophy!
I love listening to this show so much! They explore science fiction in a fresh way, using it as an entry-point to discuss philosophical issues. I've learned more about philosophy and I'm loving it!

    The best podcast
In a world where the Goop podcast is somehow on the "educational" category charts, listening to this podcast just once actually means you have an instant PhD in both philosophy and space.

    Not only for experts.
Using the familiarity of sci-fi, and a healthy dose of humor, Aaron and Thomas break down philosophy in a fun and entertaining way. Great for people interested in philosophical concepts at any level.

    Just what I needed
I'm overly analytical and love tech, sci-fi, and philosophy. Aaron and Thomas are awesome in their jovial style, and go way deep into the philosophical relevancies of the most famous & favorite shows & movies.

    Good stuff!
Great new show, I enjoy the premise, I enjoy the personalities, it’s a good fit and a fun listen. Became a patron after the first episode. If you think you might like it, I’d say try it and you will.

    Informative, Insightful, Entertaining!
This show is a great ongoing conversation between the two hosts: Aaron, the professional philosopher, and Thomas, the podcaster with a lovely personality (and amateur philosopher). Listening in on their discussions, we hear their reviews of sci-fi, classics and newer material as well, from a critical but primarily philosophical view. With Aaron’s help, they examine the themes of the piece, and drill down on the philosophical underpinnings, even going to sources from 19th century philosophers and exploring the connections between that and the sci-fi of the week. If you have any interest in Star Trek, and especially if you prefer it over its action packed, but thoughtless company, this is the show for you!
