shanickelpickleA great and fun podcastAnyone writing a negative review are just people with their own personal bias getting in the way of facts.

Dr. KasiaRutherford Flipping HayesGuys. I started with the latest episode-Trump. Blurg. So over that guy buuuuut I love a rexy pod so opted to give it a second chance with a president who didn’t make me nauseous. I ended up clicking on Rutherford B Hayes since I didn’t know much about him. What a treat! Best president ever, apparently. Hayes would be thrilled to know that I liked his episode. Anyways, I’ve been hooked since Hayes, but no one else comes close. Huzzah for Hayes.

William Jennings Bryan IIStopped listeningDespite the liberal bias, I used to enjoy this show. However the guys became fan boys of Obama as opposed to presenting an unbiased narrative.

DchoboLabor Party BritsLabor Party Brits weigh in on a country they know very little about. They read a few books so they can convince themselves they are experts. Solid effort, I give them that but they’re essentially guys on the street talking on something that they’re incredibly biased on.

Prospero EatonFantastic Podcast Despite Zeppelin Error :)I started listening at Grover Cleveland a month ago and am now on Gerald Ford. Your series is both entertaining and informative. However, you made a mistake in saying that Led Zeppelin were past their prime when Ford was about to become president. Physical Graffiti is their best album and it came out in 1975.

Gmoney$$€sadReally enjoyed the game podcast until the modern cracks began to appear in the 1900s. After that it was hard to listen as every conservative ideal was bad and mean while glorifying liberal ideal. In addition conservetive presidents had greater focus on their negatives while glossing over or rationalizing any from a liberal president. In addition great focus was put on conservative halting government but not any when liberals the same in recent years. The beginning is very infornative and funny though as I think Rutherford Hayes may be a new favorite. Though definitely listen with care towards the end as it becomes very bias.

jam_153oh nono no no. i’ve stopped listening to the podcast (don’t want to give them one more listen in their overall count) and simply reading the transcript. What a load of liberal-tears, non-american, unessential dialog about the presidential legacies. To have placed FDR over Teddy is laughable beyond reason. This review is after listening to all the episodes to-date, and here at the end “semi final I.” Bless their inability to understand strong conservative, American values, and as they’d hear if they were to be raised the USA’s Southern states, “Bless their hearts!” Is there a word for being embarrassed for somebody when they don’t know they should be embarrassed? Because I’m that for them.

AtohiEntertaining and relative detailed walk through American PresidentsJust finished the 44th President, Trump (I refuse to count Cleveland twice. Join me in the revolt!), and decided it’s time to review this lovely podcast! Jamie and Rob have created one of my favorite podcasts to listen to on American History. It’s light hearted, informational, and there are absolutely no ad reads of any sort, which make it perfect for binging while doing projects around the house and staving off existential dread. I love to recommend it to friends who may not normally enjoy history podcasts because it’s so entertaining. A lot of time seems to be put into creating a narrative and to keeping the story moving with only small tangents for joking around. It’s not uncommon for Rob and Jamie to poke fun at our culture or politics here in the States and I often disagree with their rankings but because we’re all adults, we can all enjoy other people’s perspective and laugh about ourselves every now and then, right? Right?? So pour a glass of whiskey, make sure the area is free of turkeys, and enjoy an episode.. or 2.. or 10.

Mike CerabonaGreat podcastFun to listen to, historically accurate look at the presidents, with some good humor mixed in. Recommend for anyone brushing up on their American presidential history

Randir02Hilarious and educationalI would have retained a lot more from history class growing up if more humor had been included!
-
KelleekeyHilarious, Fun and Well ResearchedI really love this podcast! I couldn’t believe anyone could make the boring presidents (the ones between Jackson & Lincoln and between Grant and TR) interesting. My favorite Brits (Rob & Jamie) have hilarious takes on aspects/antidotes for each president’s life along with accurate information on their strengths and weaknesses. They also have an outsider’s point of view that is funny without being condescending. I’m a history nerd and former Republican. What MAGA has done to my country and my family is beyond depressing. This wonderful podcast helped me to realize just how many times our government has almost self imploded and yet we are still here. I am raising my big red plastic cup in honor of Rob & Jamie! Thanks, guys! Kelly J from Western New York (that’s NY state not NY City)

Ronin GodsbloodFell off in the modern eraStarted out well, but the closer they got to modern day the more inaccurate they became. The episodes at the end of the series were full of errors and inaccuracies, and seem to have been researched from news headlines.

Mije BryanEntertaining and informativeIf you’re looking to learn history and be entertained, look no further this podcast is amazing.
-
spidermansarahPresi-BingeI’ve been binging all episodes for a few weeks and have enjoyed learning about each of the presidents. I don’t love the intros and don’t always agree with their rankings, but the content is interesting and fun. Their political preferences are evident so if that’s something that bothers you, this probably isn’t for you. I, however, am pumped that I can name all of the presidents in order AND tell you something about each of them! A+ for these teachers turned history-casters!
-
History Loving KidVery goodVery good highest praise, a little to critical of conservatives though
-
lynne juliaFantasticAbsolutely hilarious and a great way to learn America history.
-
nxavisGreat sense of humorI like these guys and they are hilarious. The episodes post-WWII are more spotty for me since we have political differences (like calling NAFTA “good for America” without discussion in Clinton II) but I need to lighten up—this is not a podcast for serious education, it’s a romp through history full of 5 star worthy British humor!
-
Moroni 17#1 FanI absolutely love this show!!! Rob and Jamie do not hide their bias of being anti-Trump, but their commentary and ranking is still pretty darn fair and so funny. I have studied US Presidential history for over 20 years now, and I still learn something new from every episode. I love hearing these 2 Brits go on about the USA, its leaders, and are an entertaining duo to better understand two different cultures.
-
Cool Hag FamI love this show!Everyone should be a student of all history. Nothing that is happening today, just happened; there is a direct line from history. As an Oklahoman, I think the bombing and Waco should have been mentioned, as well as Rwanda. Keep up the amazing work.
-
OptimusdaPrime1990Funny! great overallSo are you gonna do 3 episodes of Clinton? Seems like you’ve only done 3 episodes on (Republican) Presidents. Nixon, Reagan Bush….. Lots of things you could point out about Slick Willy…. You didn’t do 3 episodes on Gerald Ford so I’ll give you that. Love the podcast though

hwymEducation and laughsTo much fun being had

JStreet4488These guys are Ameri-CansI’ve told so many people about this podcast. I’ve really enjoyed learning about the leaders of my own country. Almost as much as I’ve enjoyed quietly, and only to myself, correcting Rob’s pronunciation of some towns and people! These 2 seem to be genuinely good people, who don’t take things too seriously and are clearly upset when they come across the nastiness of humanity. Instead of just saying “we’ll that was how things were,” they usually continue with “but these were still people they were hurting.” Super excited for you guys to finish up the Presidents and then I’ll have to go check out these Roman Emperors everyone keeps high-fiving about.
-
Susanna in SeattleExcellent podcast! It’s refreshing, fun, and sobering to discover so much about American presidents from a British perspective. Thoughtful context, amazing AmeriCAN accents and OMG Warren Harding. Thanks, Rob and Jamie!
-
Mr PresenterNever been a better podcastAs a future president (2048-2056) I am looking forward for my episode.
-
hp71Clever & well doneTotalus Rankium has become my new obsession. Of course I’m catching up from the beginning, but I’m learning a lot. And I’m very amused by their ranking system. The Andrew Jackson episode was a favorite (despite him being trash). I’m trying to not binge, but I’m excited to see where they go with some of the Presidents I know more about.
-
ApplegrinPay attention Americans!Great podcast! If you can handle the fact that these two guys are clearly left leaning politically, they really have done their research, although very opinionated. If you’re a conservative you’ll be put off by some of the opinions here. e.g. democrat and republican parties (both very racist in the beginning) have shifted in their beliefs since their birth. Most logical Americans know this to be false. To this day, democrat policies are clearly racist beneath the surface. But, it’s their podcast. Give it a listen! You’ll learn something.
-
Gram brainLol HistoryYou make me laugh through your English storytelling of American history. I applaud you both, what a team! Since I just recently found this podcast, and am retired, I spent hours each day listening. Thank you Rob and Jamie for all the research, planning, etc it takes. You are the best. You make me laugh out loud while learning. I Love it!.

OutragedBrushGood showLove the show but could you stop saying “anyway” so much?

AnotherEmily27Engaging and InformativeThis is one of the few podcasts I enjoy listening to hours on end. High quality content portrayed in a very engaging way!
-
pplllqqqDelightfulInformative and silly—exactly what I look for in a podcast. The recent riff about “treacherous currants” really tickled me. You guys are fantastic! Thank you for all your hard work in putting this together.

Owen From CantonAmerican Football. You are correct I wanted to claw my ears off listening to you talking about American Football 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ the center doesn’t say hut hut. The quarterback does 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ other than that I enjoy the show
-
Galaxy girl 6PerfectI love listening every day and get through about one a day, I love all the jokes and the British opinion about our presidents! It makes it so fun to listen to, but the tackle the important issues too.
-
Houston TailorSuperb and this is the History the World NeedsDid I mention this and the Roman Emperors podcast were the first podcast I ever listened to? Masterful and self-referential and snarky in the best way. Gets us to do our own research to link up with the “I’m not going into that, tariffs are boring” segments. I literally found it by looking up American Presidents as a podcast topic and this was the first one that comes up. Start with the lesser known presidents; the hosts’ comic skills are very much in evidence when there is less information to sift through. The James Buchanan episodes in particular will never get old. See the Historia Augusta school of historiography for info. “Whatever we say is what all historians will agree actually happened. Complete with Rocky and all the Omens.” Also worth it for the classic and meta ending skits! And definitely good for a British perspective on US history that is really illuminating! Especially when any of these people are ambassadors to the UK. Or when Britain questions our title to Oregon… Andrew Schneider

It's James, James BondAnything but BlandSaw a recommendation for this podcast in a comment section on Instagram… I figured I’d try it out (it was one amongst many) and it’s my new go-to podcast. Love listening to the commentary. Fantastic overview, not one that gets too lost-in-the-sauce, but very far from dry. Great content. Would (and have) recommend(ed).
-
ManFooFooGreat hosts, great showRob and Jamie are a pleasure to listen to. This is a very entertaining and informative podcast!
-
damango15Rob and Jaime feel like old friendsI started binge listening last summer, but let up during the school year. When I picked it back up again, I realized how much I enjoyed this podcast. When I started listening again, it felt like catching up with old friends. I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone.
-
Jackie bluebirdExcellent, fun & well researched!Never would I imagine I’d be listening to a podcast for hours and hours! It’s entertaining, well researched, full of interesting information and fun. I leaned so much and am excited to keep listening. Highly recommend for anyone.

Spenser McCoyI Need MoreThis is the best podcast I’ve ever listened to. I need more episodes!! I miss it!!
-
Oz in AllentownHistory is now Fun!I found Rob and Jaime in 2021 and was immediately hooked. They are literally laugh out loud (Jaime’s accents!!!) and offer American historical commentary from a British perspective. They are changing what I thought of both American and Presidental history, and it’s a great thing!!
-
A-Rod2012Absolutely L-O-V-E, love!If you love history, plus a splash of humor, this podcast is for you! Rob and Jaime are hilarious and keep things light hearted. I look forward to every episode.
-
KimmieBleezHilarious & HistoricalA fun guide through the presidents with a competitive ranking system thrown in. The hosts work perfectly together. Couldn’t ask for more. Love their Roman Emperors podcast as well
-
Denver1601British biasThis is American history told with a heavy British bias. Years ago I remember hearing Rob complain in the preface of Roman Emperors T.R. that oh so many Americans have covered the them! It was time for the “British” to get it done. After hearing Rob lament about the Americans, I was apprehensive to even listen to the Roman Emperor series. However I gave them a chance and even became a monthly supporter. As for the U.S. President’s ranking, I am disappointed they didn’t remain neutral and just deliver some history. I’m wondering if that is the difference between a professionally trained historian and two nice guys with a podcast that enjoy history? As for Rob and Jamie, it’s irritating when they either get something wrong, twist the facts or slam on slavery as if to belatedly shame us descendants of the evil ones. Then there are snobby slams hinting of English superiority. This is no fun. It’s like hearing two bullies pick on your country. I enjoyed the first 15 episodes of their previous work. It was especially fun. Hysterical actually at times. Keep trying boys! I hope you’re working on a fascinating ranking of your own Prime Ministers?
-
Ferret1973Phenomenal!This is, by far, my favorite podcast! I love American history and the way Rob and Jamie take us through the presidents is brilliant! As an American it adds a level of fun to hear two British guys presenting our history and, it seems, learning themselves as they go. Love it!
-
Luna Lovegood 34Amazing 😍😍😍I am a huge American history junkie, and this is one of my favorite podcasts. I really like funny American history podcasts and audiobooks, and this one takes the cake. Thank you so much for this hilarious podcast! (PS) bring Sensible Samuel back!
-
cnbradford6HookedI am an avid podcast listener but for the last couple weeks I have neglected all my regularly scheduled programming to listen solely to this show. I love history and sometimes it’s hard to make a history podcast fun. Rob and Jamie are so lighthearted and literally make me cackle on the reg. Their horror when learning about some of our former leaders “disgraceful” behavior is so on par. Thank you for making the show!
-
TippecanoeAndTylerLockettTooFavorite podcastI have listened to every episode at least twice. The humor and chemistry between these two is fantastic. The best thing is how Rob brings the nerdy/rabbit hole energy to presidential history that I appreciate and relate so much to. So many fun facts about these folks that you don't hear in history class.
-
chelsigeneHooked on historyThank you for making history binge worthy!
-
Funbobby02001For the Love or God….Release another episode!! I’ve been waiting for months for Part 2 of the Kennedy episode. Criminy!!!!
-
jwhis63Entertainment not factI’ve read almost 100 presidential biographies. This podcast is entertaining but snarky, so not entirely accurate. Still worth listening to, but take some of the negativeness with a grain of salt. I think the rankings on the more recent Presidents are particularly off. Truman and Eisenhower in particular.
