Forever grateful to be provided the Whole Truth of the Word of God, The Holy Bible… thank you for sharing the knowledge of truth that, in short, The Holy Bible was written to a culture over 2,000 years ago in a World Perspective that is an Eastern World Thought Approach in a language that is truly unique and seemingly not known based on my knowledge, which is humbly based on life experiences… it always seemed to me that there were adult sermons creating confusion, contradictory, and delivering the sermon in a manner that took away from my Fruits of the Spirit… the patience and love of God must always be explained and encouraged… God loves us more than the strongest, earthly love someone has for us OR the love we have for them… may the Holy Spirit lead, guide, and protect you all.

Been such a great journey of discovery and learning how to be the people God has called us to be. Love how the Eastern and Western views of the context and teachings of the Bible are brought together to the glory and praise of God.

Recommended by a coworker. Love the Eastern World perspective on the Biblical texts. Brent’s hilarious. Would give 10 stars. Praise God!!!

This is an amazing podcast. It has really changed the way we read, interpret and apply the Bible. It provides cultural context and historical background, allowing for deeper meaning as we read and listen. Thank you Marty and Brent.

Life changing!

Season 1 was great. Season 2 started strong but Psalms, Proverbs, and Prophets have been lacking. Example: Marty talked for 15 minutes about how people don’t talk about Songs of Solomon. Then spent the next 15 minutes skirting around it. Psalms did no justice. Proverbs the same. But overall it’s been enjoyable. Just hoping it picks up!

I love the historical context that is provided and is such an important part to understanding the Bible. Thank you!

I’m a 15 year old young Christian in the faith and have learned a lot from this podcast. I’m currently on episode 25. But have learned a lot of Jewish culture which is fantastic. To know what it’s like to be in a Jewish culture gives a lot of insight. Thank you bema!

This podcast opens up the Bible in a very meaningful way. My wife and I just finished session 1 and it has been great. It is both intellectually engaging and heart/soul changing. I highly recommend it.

BEMA is a great way to see the Bible under a new light! Marty has a great background and has done a lot of research. It’s very uplifting and causes my brain to rethink a lot of things. I may come to the same conclusion but I now have taken the time needed to firmly understand why I believe the way I do.

There are good podcasts. There are great podcasts. There are podcasts so great, they become a part of your life. This is one of those podcasts. It reframed, revealed and rejuvenated so much of my spiritual life I cannot begin to put it to words. Do yourself a favor. LISTEN.

I feel like I’ve been aloud the see a masterpiece through a keyhole only. Then Bema Discipleship opened the door. I’m blown away. It’s like drinking from a firehouse and then when you think you can handle it they open the spigot up. For so long I felt like things were incomplete and unclear and now I am experiencing so much more of the Bible. This is the meat that Paul was talking about. Makes me want to find a messianic rabbi. What a blessing. You will not be disappointed. Start at season 1 episode 0. Relax, take a deep breath and let it consume you. I started in the beginning of September and I’m already on episode 105. I’m 52 and wish I had found this in my teens. I feel like my life would be so much different. So thankful for it now. Such a blessing.

Thank you for doing this series. For quite sometime a voice inside me has been crying out for answers to my questions in the text, honestly questioning if there is another way that we were meant to read it. A way that is closer to the point of origin.

If you think the Bible is cool now, wait until you listen to this podcast. Nothing makes the Bible come alive like understanding the historical Jewish context. Well paced. Not boring or overly academic at all and it always comes back to living it out.

When I found this podcast was thru a recommendation of a person who was teaching a class at my church about the cultural context of Jesus’ day and how it affected the Bible context. At first I was a little shocked to learn so many things that I never knew but as I kept going I found myself fascinated by the teachings and all the little things that I missed because I couldn’t understand the cultural context which now a lot of things clicked and have help me to grow in my faith

I love this podcast. Is it perfect? nah. Has it pushed me to closer God? Absolutely!! Am I perfect? nah. But I want to continue to trust the story. Session 3 has only been stellar. It’s so tempting to skip to this session but like it’s soo good, session 1 and 2!!
