    Great Concept…Host Needs to LISTEN
The constant interjections are incredibly distracting. Just be quiet and let the guests talk. 2 episodes in…can’t take it any more.

If you love cook books and the cooking lifestyle this is for you!
This is my top 3 favorite podcasts. I have been listening for over a year and I am always so excited when it comes on. I want to buy every cookbook they talk about and their discussions are fascinating. Please don’t ever leave us.

    "Sort of" a good podcast
If we could get Brian to stop saying "sort of" twice in every. single. sentence, this would be a great podcast.

    Racist and sexist at times
I love salt & spine, what I do NOT love are the racist comments or sexist comments about men or causations. It’s disheartening to put snide comments about men or rude comments about causations. Even having podcasts directly about getting rid of or having less Causations on the podcast or in the cooking world. That is extremely racist and sexist! We should praise ALL walks of life, all people, all culture, men AND women, and embrace them. Not put people down. People do not choose their color, there is no place in our world for racism or sexism.

    Love these interviews
I love this podcast and always look forward to the very thoughtful and diverse conversations. Brian is a great interviewer and asks some of the best questions to get really great interviews out in the world.

    Great cookbooks, great conversations
I’ve been listening to this podcast for about a year. It has probably cost me several hundred dollars in cook books, for which I am really grateful. Hearing the authors discuss the whys and hows behind their books is awesome.

    Elegant and full of respect
I listen to a number of food related podcasts and this is definitely one of my favorites. Always conducted with the upmost respect and dignity. Great content and thoughtfulness. Keep up the great work!

    Loving this!
I’ve been anxiety baking, which means I’m actually working in our kitchen rather than admiring my husband’s food. Part of that means I’m reading more about food, watching videos and ... reading cookbooks. I’ve always loved food writing—Ruth Reich’s Garlic and Sapphires is a long-time favorite—but reading cake recipes and baking books, being addicted to the Bon Appetit TV app and YouTube channel somehow led me to this podcast. Keep up the great interviews with brilliant cooks and writers.

quality food & quality storytelling !
Salt + Spine is delightful! I was looking for a podcast that merges my interests in both quality food & quality storytelling - I’m so glad to have found it in Salt + Spine. I really appreciate the variety in authors & cuisines, and love learning more about them through Brian’s interviews!

    TOTAL RIP-OFF!
This podcast is a total rip off of the Cookery by the Book podcast! The website looks the same, the podcast sounds the same. This whole thing is purely a rip off. If you want to listen to a cookbook podcast, listen to Cookery by the Book. It's so much better.

Great for home cooks and foodies alike
The recipes, stories, and lessons shared in this podcast are fantastic! Brian approaches each interview as a story to learn more. I enjoy the diversity of cuisine and culture that is shared. I’ve added to my cookbook collection as a result!

Inspiring as someone who identifies as a “bad cook”
Listening to this first podcast has helped inspire me that cooking can become easier after a few tries (terrified of cooking poached eggs until now!) and it’s ok to use frozen peas 🙃excited for the others to come!

    Great pod for home cooks!
As someone who loves to cook (and listen to podcasts while doing so) I really enjoyed this podcast. I have often wondered what inspires someone to write a cookbook and the work that goes into it, and I found the first episode with Nigella Lawson to be both engaging and educational. The host does a great job teasing out details from each guest. Can't wait for episode 2!

    Inspiration for the aspiring chef!
Loving this podcast! As someone who reads cookbooks like novels and idolizes Ina Garten, it’s so exciting to have a podcast that dives into what makes a great cookbook. I enjoy cooking in my tiny apartment’s kitchen, and I’m already feeling inspired to go outside my comfort zone and try some delicious new recipes. Can’t wait to listen to the rest of the season!
