Great info but sound quality needs improvements
I really like the topics and both presenters are very knowledgeable about the age group. But, I have found the sound quality makes it hard to listen and focus and deters me from listening. That said, I haven’t listened to an episode since summer of 2022, so perhaps the sound quality has improved since then.

    Suspension episode
We do NOT have enough trained staff and smaller class sizes to safely accommodate the children that need one-on-one instruction. We try really hard to have someone push into the classroom but simply can not do it without proper staffing. Lots of ideas that we as educators already know and can’t achieve without help! Very discouraging all around. In school suspensions keep tuition going and parents have a place for their child to go!

    This could be amazing
I do enjoy most of the content on this show. These women know what they are talking about! However, as a preschool teacher, I find it off putting the way they come down on teachers that aren’t doing things their way. We are all trying to learn and evolve. I feel a better way to do that is to link arms rather than telling people how wrong they are. I was willing to overlook this, and I did. Yet, the sound quality (I had to continually adjust my speaker setting to either hear what they were saying or drown out the rustling) and the continual dog barking were too much for me.

Looking for a more positive approach
Thank you for your work on this podcast. I appreciate the work you do and the knowledge you have and are willing to share. As a preschool teacher I was looking for a podcast to help me improve and after listening I felt discouraged and like I was doing terrible things. It would be nice if you could find a more positive and helpful way of talking about these topics. I need to be built up as a teacher, given suggestions and instead I just felt a lot of negativity and all the things that are bad, I would appreciate more practical suggestions and help on how to improve.

    These peeps are my peeps!
After taking a 15 year break of teaching preschool I was nervous getting back in the classroom. I searched for teaching podcasts and found this one. Listening to Cindy and Alison have given me an extra boost of confidence while in the classroom! The subjects they talk about have given me reassurance, I am on the right track of how I approach each day in tHe classroom. They give little nuggets of information that I glean from weekly. Grateful for this podcast.

    As A Podcaster Myself...
I host the podcast “Cherishing Childhood.” I completely understand dealing with household noise. I ended up setting up my studio in the guest room closet, locking the dogs and kids out with my husband lol, so that there would be zero background noise. I love these ladies and their knowledge, but the echoey sound, mixed with dogs barking loud, makes it hard to listen to, let alone retain the information they’re giving. I’ll keep listening, but it’s definitely getting harder to do so.

    Great podcast, with one criticism
Update: I’ve continued to listen in hopes of getting more references and resources beyond just their opinions, but so far, there has been very little. And, as other reviewers have mentioned, the pet noise has got to go. It has gotten increasingly worse. I love birds—own three myself—but it is so, so distracting to hear them in the background of the podcast. Alison’s dog was quiet for several episodes, but he’s back now and I just don’t understand why anybody thinks it’s ok to record with a dog barking. I may sift through the remaining episodes to see if there’s anything interesting enough to me to listen to anyway, but I think I’m done here. I recently discovered this podcast and have been working my way through the episodes from the beginning. I’m into the 2019 episodes now and enjoy the friendly banter between Alison and Cindy and the real-world stories that they share. One criticism I have—and perhaps they do more of this in more current episodes—is that the information they share tends to come across more as opinion than expertise. Their tag line mentions their “research-based knowledge” and I’d love to hear more references to the research they are basing their information on—references to other experts in the field that focus on whatever the particular topic for that episode is so that we can dig further into that topic through books, webinars, websites, etc. Aside from that, I’m really enjoying the podcast!

The barking has got to go
I want to give this podcast 5 stars because the subject matter has been great so far, but the near constant barking of a very loud dog makes the entire experience extremely off putting. I can’t move past it and have to stop listening, I’m sorry.

    Great topic, hard to hear
I started to listen to a podcast regarding covid19, but could not finish do to the extra noise. The background noise of birds and the dog was very distracting. What I did hear was really good.

    It’s a shame, really
It hurts my heart to give this podcast a subpar rating, especially since the information presented is so valuable to teachers and parents. With that said, I can’t abide pushing MLM or pyramid scheme products like DoTerra while listening to a podcast about education.

    Great show!
I love this podcast. As a first year, preschool teacher I need this to further understand how to work with children. My only critique of this podcast is that Cindy does interrupts Alison when she’s speaking. There was something that Alison said that found I intriguing and Cindy interrupted her. I was thinking “oh no, I wanted to her experience on that!” Other than that, great show!

    Love this podcast
The techniques and tip offered are priceless. I have been inspired and encouraged. It’s great to know other ECE have similar beliefs as mine. Positive guidance and redirection. I personally can’t stand timeouts, that older episode is my favorite. I recommend to everyone, parents as well. Thank you!

I just bought Cindy’s book as well and with these together I am so grateful for all the information I’m getting! Better and more real than any class I’ve taken. Thank you guys!

    Great resource.
Thank you for putting this out; please continue! I had to pull my twins out of preschool for health reasons. There’s plenty of resources about kids and home, and homeschooling for school ages, but I haven’t yet found much about the preschool level. Again, thanks!
