This podcast is a phenomenon. I have three podcasts I love. They are my go-to. This one is number 1. I anticipate the subscription episodes then I get sad because it's over. Lol 😆. Your voice is easy to listen to. Thank you for this podcast.

    Amazing
I love this podcast me and my boyfriend drive a lot as our family is spread out and we don’t have the same taste in music so we turn this podcast on everytime and it’s always good.
  • Seriously?Seriously!
    Top podcast
Look forward to each one, a favorite of mine. Good content every single episode.

Another riveting production, Michael - wow 😯 This one I sat for; no multitasking. First, it’s so fresh a crime (2023/24) and prosecution. My condolences to Valerie’s family: Godspeed & Hugs to you 💔 This was well-researched and the interviews so humanize (and demonize, apropos, the murderer). Your inclusion of the victim’s family’s commentary on Valeries previous assaults by a family member as a child spoke volumes to me. Predators sniff out the vulnerable always. I’ll be processing this one for days..👍💕

    Best Crime Podcast!
Love Michael’s narration style and dry sense of humor…at the appropriate times! Stories are well researched with explicit details and facts.

    Ok
It’s just ok. The content is informative but too many “redactions”, getting facts from Reddit, and the hosts voice is very whiny for a man

    Solid
Very similar to sword and scale, but without the insane comments and political opinions. A+
  • More like Nohoo
Don’t do the sword and scale thing. The host is not the victim.
This is a podcast about murders. The victims of those crimes are the victims, not the host and their perceived slights at criticism of the show. I stopped listening to sword and scale because at the beginning, end, and throughout the host starts complaining about “woke” or criticisms (valid or not) of the show. Recently, this host has started doing to same thing. People don’t download this show to listen to petty gripes or hurt feelings. The writing and stories told here and generally good so I hope the host checks himself before this becomes habitual. It’s disingenuous and an insult to your audience.

Best True Crime Podcast of the Decade!
I have listened to over 150 true crime podcasts through the years & nothing comes close to the thorough reporting & narration of Michael. Too many podcasters host their shows purely to entertain their listeners, but Michael speaks about the cases as a way to educate the public or to inform. He never makes light of the situations or crimes he is reporting about. His voice is thoughtful, calming & sincere. It is difficult for me to listen to other podcasts without comparing then to Invisible Choir. Keep on doing great work, Michael! I’ll always be a faithful listener & subscriber for as long as you are hosting!

    Respectful & Recent
I appreciate the respectful way that Michael approaches the cases he presents. He is mostly unbiased but not so much that he doesn’t appear aloof to what he’s talking about. He doesn’t make light of the situations either. I also appreciate that he is reporting on recent cases. One thing you can run into with “true crime” podcasts is that they all share the same information on the same stories.

    First class
Great coverage of such a tragic case in such a short timeframe. By far my absolute favorite podcast! I very much look forward to every episode! Thank you Michael Ojibway and staff for consistently putting out such great content and for the compassion that you so clearly show. Please keep up the amazing work that you do. God bless!!

    Love the content but….
So to start, I began listening from the oldest to newest and binged episodes. The content and story is really good, but here is where the rating drops a star or two; I noticed immediately that his narration style changed from older episodes to the newer. Once you hear it you can’t unhear it and it is highly annoying now. In older episodes, his narration was “relaxed” and very natural, it didn’t feel like he was reading a script. This is what drew me in. Now his narration has a high emphasis on sentence endings sometime adding an “a” and running on his next word. Example: …admitted that he helddd”a” his sonss”a” head.. He also has these sharp pauses in between sentences. It makes it hard to listen to now. Someone on Reddit described it as “Chandler Bing narration”. I’m sorry for the criticism, but it is what is causing me to cancel my subscription.

    Why?
Easily could be FIVE stars (great show) but the limited release of free content seems a bit arrogant (or greedy?) considering all the other amazing free podcasts out there.

    Ridiculous price
Pods like sword and scale who have tons of content don’t hide a majority behind a paywall
  • Globberoo
    Everything is behind a paywall
Good podcast if you can afford it

    Used to be good
Great voice and great story telling, however, way too many recordings (maybe trying to make the episodes longer?) The older episodes are so much better. The new episodes are so boring and most you need a subscription.

Finally a good true crime podcast!
Great podcast, great voice, interesting stories. No foolishness. My favorite one BY FAR. And I am constantly looking. So upset I caught up and can’t keep binging!

Scrolling Thru Episodes Until I Lose Patience
First off, I do enjoy most of the stories told and it is a well produced show. I’ve listened to this genre for years and it is professionally done. That said, when I first found the pod, every episode had a forward with the creator crying about bad ratings related to having merged the free episodes with the paid content. Didn’t think much of it at first, but it’s become incredibly annoying to have to scroll through so many episodes that are only avail to those with subscriptions. If you’re aim is to encourage your listeners to consider a paid subscription, merging them is not going to do it. Create a sister pod for those who want more and are willing to pay. By forcing new listeners to scroll endlessly to find an ad-based episode, you’re turning more people off than you realize. Maybe inquire as to whether Apple would create a sorting filter bc I’m fast getting to the point where I find searching to be more of a nuisance than it’s worth.

    Just not the Same
I have been a fan of invisible choir for a long time, and it’s just not the same. The new stories are boring and I find myself going back to episodes I’ve listen to before that I didn’t have to pay for. It seems as though Invisible Choir has gotten lazy and it’s just not worth the money to me. I find myself leaving Invisible Choir and going to a podcast that’s has better content and it’s free.
  • Dankensteinnnnnn
    The podcast is fine
Inconsistent releases if you pay for it though. If anything pay for a month and binge it then drop it for another year.
  • AngelaFromCA
One of the best true crime podcasts
Stories are so well told. Host has a great voice and tells interesting stories in a respectful way. Love it!

    Not worth it
I have been a subscriber to the paid membership a few times to this podcast after you put every episode behind a pay way. It’s soooo not worth it and I’ll tell you why. Too much trickery with even making paid subscribers wait for your episodes. I’ll give you major kudos that your content is fire. But you like playing games with the fans who can afford the episodes and more importantly you don’t show appreciation for your paying subscribers. Sword and scale doesn’t need to do and it’s always in the top 5 ratings. And yes I was a paid subscriber to you. I want you to make money because of your hard work but you are not fooling me. It’s not even worth sitting around waiting for your breadcrumbs and it’s an insult to paid subscribers.
  • Brooklyn_Scarlett
    Not enough content/known stories reported
I use to love Invisible Choir but not only have their scripts become repetitive (the speech in the narration) but they don’t post enough content anymore and most of the stories they do post are stories that I’ve already heard. I wish creators would research/pursue stories that no one else has. But, alas, easy money is easy money.
  • thisnicknamestuffisdumb
    Meh…
Similar to Sword and Scale in content, but laxks the personality, heart, and storytelling flair. An adequate “also listen” for when S&S is on vacation. Not worth purchasing.
  • Jesslou8
    Lack of content
Content is primarily geared towards Patreon subscribers - new episodes are few and far between. I was a subscriber at one point, but even at a steep cost the content wasn’t great (3 episodes about the baby killer/possible coroner) were just repetitive. Most podcasters have a consistent free thread, this just isn’t one. Listen if you want to pay - and pay a lot.

    Best Show Around
This is the best true crime podcast I’ve ever listened to. The show is called Invisible Choir, and ironically I find this show to be the most transparent and first handed accounting of true crime in podcasting. I love hearing real audio of court proceedings or interactions. Limited commercials and the instrumentals are a really nice touch and match the vibe of the story. Keep doing what you’re doing Michael!!

    Love this podcast!
I was searching to find a podcast about Nakira Griner as it happened 20 minutes from me. This was the only one to with an episode. The episode was very well done. (By the way she is sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole). I’m excited to listen to the other episodes! Definitely recommend this podcast.

    One of the bests!!
This podcast is amazing! I love the intros and they give just the right amount of info needed to grasp the case. Michael does a great job narrating! Love this one and would recommend to all!

    Love Your Channel....
Listening to The Storm.... There is NO "QAnon." There is only Q and there are the Anons. There is a fringe of the Anons that have gone a bit over the edge--however, they are the exception. Q is not one man--there are ten, most military, few civilians--but Q is commonly referred to being one. That said, Q is not responsible for this man's psychotic break. There are many TI's out there who honestly believe they are being targeted. Unfortunately, he was mentally sick and didn't get the help he needed.

    Consistently high quality
I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts. This one is by far one of the very best in terms of the writing and storytelling. Michael Ojibway has a great voice and a delivery that never annoys. The stories are usually ones I’ve never heard of anywhere else. I ran through the free shows and ultimately subscribed because I just couldn’t wait for the next one to come out and knew there were subscriber bonus episodes that I was missing out on. Plus, no ads! I highly recommend this show.
