Kentucky FriendVery Helpful and HOPE-filled! Thank you!I found this podcast by searching Dr. Karyn Purvis’s name. Her TBRI videos have helped my husband and me with parenting challenges. We adopted our son 3 1/2 years ago and we are navigating some challenging behaviors and feeling exhausted lately. Thankful to have found someone who relates and who has helpful information for where we are! I just purchased the audio book, “The Connected Parent”. Thank you for sharing your story! It’s truly a blessing to have found this!

marylynnetxBest fostering/adoptive podcastI’m an mom-bio, adoptive & foster. I’m constantly seeking out help for my adopted kids. Melissa and Lisa have amazing tips and information and the best part-support. I finish each episode feeling understood, not like a failure (validated that this is hard work), and with some new tools to use/consider for my family. Thank you ladies!!
-

-
Nickey119Thank you! There are so many awesome episodes. I’ve been working my way back from #109 as I just started listening but jumped way back to episode #23 when it was referenced in another episode, to hear Lisa’s birth mom story. It really hit home for me as my kiddos are all adopted from foster care and their first moms didn’t choose adoption for their kids. And my kiddos wish their first moms would have made better life choices but these podcast have really opened my eyes to so much!!! Thank you!
-

Rae11313This podcast is full of hope!I love this podcast! The topics that are covered are wide ranging and so full of the real life issues of the adoption world. This podcast is unique as it discusses topics from so many perspectives. I love that Melissa and Lisa are so real and honest. There are so many times I have laughed or cried as they share something they went through and it’s the exact same feelings or situation that I was having. But above all, it let me have hope that I was not alone when we were in a very hard place in our adoption journey.
-
TheprizergA LifelineEvery time I listen to Lisa and Melissa, I feel like they are sitting in my living room having coffee with me. Very personable and have amazing guests for all things adoption. I listen to this religiously after we adopted our eight year old and I seriously couldn’t learn fast enough! So thankful for their wisdom, experience, and most of all their hearts for The brokenness and beauty that adoption holds.
-
guat mamaSo glad I found this podcast!I’ve been listening to this podcast for more than a year now - and have learned so much from Lisa and Melissa. I look forward to new episodes and have not been disappointed yet. They have a wonderful rapport with each other and keep me engaged by providing relevant content. Bring a parent is a difficult task - and being an adoptive parent brings more complexity to the mix. Following The Adoption Connection and engaging in their group The Village has helped me find other moms who are also struggling and determined to do what’s right for their children and themselves. While Lisa and Melissa are both Christians and I am not, I find their references to their faith to be helpful at times and never overbearing. They remind me that it’s important to have a center and some guiding principles to help steer me in the direction of self care and wholeness.

BB0084A Must Listen PodcastAs an adoptive mother this podcast is both refreshment for my heart and equipping for my life. Lisa and Melissa are honest, humble and relatable. They share from their wealth of experience covering all members of the triad’s perspective which I find very valuable. They bring on guest speakers with relevant insights on topics that are part of our daily life. I have also done parenting consultation with them one-on-one and the counsel I received made an immediate impact on some of the behaviors we were struggling with and brought greater peace to our home and our hearts. Love this podcast and the women who host it!

-
JpwynaldaSo very helpful!!I left this review on the adoption connections Facebook page and felt I should here to encourage adoptive families to benefit from the wisdom Lisa and Melissa have. Parenting children is difficult... and wonderful! Parenting children who have had difficult pasts is extra hard AND EXTRA wonderful!! Walking through it with others makes the journey easier! I’m a mom of 8. Adoptive mom of 5. I have a good support system. But Melissa and Lisa have been HUGE comforts, teachers and encouragers. I appreciate their sacrifice of time and energy to share their lives with us. Someday I hope to physically meet them, but I feel I know them already through their individual blogs- the Corkboard and One Thankful Mom- and now through their podcast. Listen, learn and take courage to do the next right thing God places in your day today. And mom’s all know that could be a huge surprise 🤪 😃😃
-

T-dot-MSuccess is...“Success is obedience to God.” Best line ever. It was said by Lisa during the mentor moment in episode 25. The entire episode was fabulous but that one line will stay with me for a long time!
-
