Walking Through the Stargate

Zach has never done a podcast. Brent has never seen Stargate SG-1! Sounds like a great combination.

    Great guys!
I recently started listening to the pod after getting back into Stargate. Love the “on this day” recap as I was in the Army in the late 90’s and hearing the “pop culture” history brings me back to some memorable times! Though I’m only on season 1 I’m hoping they continue with the historical recap. Also glad they’re still going strong today as I get new episode updates!

    Love this show
Was looking for another sci-fi podcast and stumbled across this one. Huge fan of the series (have all the episodes on DVD) really enjoying it so far.

    Full of talk about stargate
What do we want? More Stargate episodes! When do we want them? As soon as possible and as much time as it takes to edit it all! Do we love following this journey? Yes!

    Mostly great!
I tuned in because somebody said this podcast was “total Garbo” and I was like “right on, an entire podcast devoted to cinema legend Greta Garbo!” Alas, not so much. Turns out this podcast is all about a show about people jumping into a vertical pool of water and ending up in Canada over and over and over again. Also alien snakes. What we’ve learned: 1. Apophis is stupid. 2. Pyramid-shaped spaceships are stupid. 3. Dr. Janet is kinda foxy. 4. Brent needs more vodka.

What did Brent have for Breakfast?
This show is funny, highly informative, and quite in depth, even going so far as to remind people as to the current events of the time to put people in the right mindset to see the episode in the right scope. And even though the views they express are a bit more progressive than my own, I still enjoy and value hearing their opinions. Unless it’s Brents insane rating of Bane, which does not deserve a 7 chevron rating. In fact, I am writing this out just to make more work for him as punishment. But I love the hosts, and the podcast as a whole. Keep up the good work, and here’s to 12 more seasons (13 if we count Infinity, but we don’t talk about that).

    The anti-garbo
Funny, informative hosts provide excellent analysis of each episode, offer information about the cast and crew, and place each episode within the cultural milieu of its broadcast date. And we’re walking....

    Best SG podcast I've heard
This is the best Stargate First Watch/Rewatch podcast run by two best friends where one knows the show super well and the other has not ever seen it. I know that seems super specific, but there are others. Well, at least one other. This one is superb. Audio quality is really good, content is entertaining, the hosts are charming and funny, and the tangents are rare and brief. I also appreciate that it's clean and family-friendly. I'm a new listener (I'm at the end of Season 1) but I'm in for the long haul.

I absolutely adore Zach and Brent’s podcast. From their Stargate-related trivia, the philosophical analysis of small details and fan-made Previews, Walking Through the Stargate never fails to keep my interest. Although I’ve seen SG-1 several times, hearing the thoughts of a first time viewer manages to bring a new appreciation for the show. The side tangents, of course, are always entertaining as well, and make the podcast worth every Chevron (and possibly Katharyn Powers) of their unique rating system. All in all, there is only one thing to say... ...This is a Stargate Podcast. -TheMadBaron

    Walking Through The Stargate—Finally!
Okay. Now we’re talking—a good Stargate episode rewatch podcast. I like the format. I like that you put each episode in the context of the time of its original air date. I like that the knowledge you guys bring from other science fiction shows. I like that Brent has strong opinions. Just too bad they aren’t good opinions. I like that you guys rate the shows on a seven chevron scale. I rated all 211 or so episodes on a five point scale. I can’t wait to see how are ratings compare. I am only a couple episodes in but I will catch up quickly. If I have to offer a little criticism, it’s just that each cast is just a little too long. Thirty to thirty-five minutes might be good. Oh, and if I hear the word “trope” one more time, there is going to be trouble. Just saying.

    Your chevrons are LIT
The SG-1 team go through the Stargate and find themselves in a strange new world. What’s this? It’s the best Stargate podcast the Tau’ri have to offer! Be led through thoughtful analysis of the more profound episodes and some well-deserved criticism of the not so thoughtful ones as Zach and Brent plot the Kathryn Powers scale, discuss the Feline nature of wormholes, peculiar pop culture history, strange relationships to Kungfu the Legend Continues, the serene beauty of British Columbia, your position for their new world order, sorry, never mind, too much, got to move along! I give this podcast 7 naquad-…..7 Chevrons! Indeed the best STARGATE podcast! Shanks Zach & Brent, shanks.

    Garbo
Wouldn’t be able to tell this is a Stargate podcast if it wasn’t in the title. So much meandering and unrelated content.

    Weekly Fav

    Well done.
Would prefer a recap that was not just reading the wiki recap. Could use a little more prep work prior to the episode discussion, but it comes across as very natural. It is apparent they are fans of the show and their honest appreciation of the show comes through, even when the episode they are reviewing is not great.
