Mr BlindWould be 5⭐️ …if not for the host constantly stepping on his liberalism. Was happy to find this cute podcast and started from the beginning since I’ve been basically raised by 70s and 80s tv, but sometimes the liberal hand-wringing is too ridiculous. Just listened to one of the early episodes covering Molly’s divorcing parents and his guest was the lovely Trenell who happens to be black. At the end of the episode, the host says ‘it’s been great having you and maybe we will have you back for another episode that covers Tootie’s ‘blackness’. What? Why? Why so obsessed with race? Trenell can only be back because of that topic? Why does the liberal mind go to that compartmentalization? There are countless moments like this with this host. That was the one that made me write this review. Such myopic thinking. Why not just enjoy covering a dopey show without looking under every rock for race issues or subjects. Liberal mentality is exhausting.

Redstir68NostalgiaLove the nostalgia-listening to old episodes as I only recently discovered this, it’s particularly funny to hear how wrong and brainwashed this host was about the scamdemic. Wonder if he feels like as big a fool as he sounds ?

Toxic ListenerSome episodes are better than othersThe hosts: “Every episode is the worst episode.”

ShopOneGirlAn Insightful and funny trip down memory laneI recently stumbled upon this podcast and am so sorry it took me this long. I am 50 so I was the right age to be addicted to this show back in the day. I haven’t seen the episodes in a long time. It’s been nice to revisit them with you and your friends. Funny thoughtful and authentic, I will continue to download and listen to your episodes. Thank you!

mpmannionThe Perfect Deep DiveAfter being sucked into old episodes of FOL on Logo TV these recaps and commentary are the perfect rabbit hole to go down. I love the background info of the actors and guests. David’s impersonation of Mrs Garrett is spot on! So glad I found this podcast! Such a great break from the world!!

EileenmarathonTo Sarcasm with LoveDavid and Matthew are wonderful and play off each other nicely - guests are all entertainment friends from throughout their lives and interesting in their own rights. I watched TFOL when it debuted on TV when I was 13, so it meant something to me, then became more “eh” as I got older, but I had great affection for some of the characters. David clearly has love and sarcasm (my favorite) for lots of this as well, and makes my memories funnier and more interesting. Love the podcast, love these guys and hope they do something when they’re done the show because I’ll miss them both.

Amawalla80s TV funBrilliant fun. David’s love for FOL is evident by his detailed recaps/breakdowns of each episode. Also included is trivia about the main actors, day players, and references to pop culture / life as is was back in the 80s. May contain not-so-subtle impressions of Jo and Mrs. G. Very amusing commentary.

joijoiLove the nostalgiaIt brings me so much pleasure to listen to this after catching an episode on Antenna TV. The commentary, analysis, the details, the snark. Been a quarantine pleasure.

joeveceA Fun PodcastI enjoy this podcast. I especially enjoy the episodes with Matthew Arter as guest. My one critique is the interview with the guest that occurs in the middle of the episode. They go on wayyyyy too long and I usually skip through them so I can get back to the the show.

moondoggy02116Good but at times frustratingI just discovered this podcast. I’m a lifelong fan of FOL, like the host. I’ve binged on the first ten episodes and I just don’t know if I can stay with it. I’m really aggravated listening to the guests betray complete disdain for the show. It’s fine to be critical, especially of that season, but it was a mistake to invite so many guests who were clearly so aloof that they likely would never listen to any podcast episodes that they were not in. I hope future guests have more buy-in. He needed at least one guest who could match his love for the show. A couple of the early episodes also have some awkward moments where they didn’t do enough research to support their own points. For example, they berate the FOL writers for knowing too little about IQ tests, but the episode sputters as they try to defend IQ tests via a discussion of the SAT in which they confuse analogies with similes. Other podcasts in this genre are not so scattered and are more diligently researched. This feels more like a conversation at a party which perhaps is what other reviewers like about it.

dream1354A great listen — worth your timeHost David Almeida knows his Facts. I grew up watching this show from before I had control of the TV to any and all rerun stretches. This podcast brings it all back. Almeida and his guests laugh, critique, recap and praise the show. This show is all fun, with voices a person could listen to all day... and, in the heart of a pandemic, might just.

AceytrayInteresting facts!Just heard the episode featuring Patty Hawkins. Now I want to work back to the other episodes, if they are all as interesting as this one.

Ornithology101Fun Show, Great HostWhat can I say? I love this show! If you love my homegirls from Eastland, you will enjoy this show. This is clearly a labor of love for David and he is a wonderful and hilarious host. One of my favorite things about a good podcast is when you can tell the host and guests are having a good time and from the amount of laughing and snorting per episode, it is evident. A good time is had by all and I am in it for the long haul to find out the mysterious origin of the fricking sombreros. Can’t wait to hear the review of my favorite episode, Seven Little Indians, S8E12!

Tune TaurJust the Facts of Life, ma’am!If you were a fan of the 80’s sitcom “The Facts of Life” or if you ever watched it, or heard about it, or were tortured by your older sister endlessly quoting incessant drivel at every possible waking moment (hypothetically, of course) from the show, then you’ll love/enjoy/tolerate the in-depth analysis of each episode by Orlando actor, and Disney Employee, David Almeida, as he is joined by special guests every week. Together they discuss the show, related events in their lives, and pretty much anything else that comes to mind. A very enjoyable podcast that you are sure to love... unless you don’t... but what do you have to lose? It is free!
-
mdcosbyDown a 1980's rabbit hole......and happily so. David and his guests are a hoot and it's fun to listen to them discuss this dated gem of a sitcom in the context of today.
