Truly Amazing - Worth The Listen
With the end of campaign two, I was almost in tears. In more ways than one, this podcast had helped me so much in trying times, such as the pandemic and personal experiences. When I was feeling down, I would listen to this and I would get a good laugh and hear some amazing storytelling, and I would feel better. This podcast has given me more confidence throughout the years, and helped me with my social anxiety a bit. You do not realize how much you have affected me, Roaring Trainers. Thank you so, so much. It was truly a poke-ball. Thank you. šŸ’—

    Amazing PokƩmon Tabletop Show!

    Wes Side Story
This is easily one of my favorite episodes and I had to mention how great the new introduction of Secret Power and the new PokƩmon time. Please keep it up, and let Liv get a new PokƩmon in return for the ultra ball and giant Dino that was taken from Her.

So good and worth a listen
I cannot explain how much I love listening to this show. I grew up with Pokemon and this hits a part of me that misses those days. I regret that I listen to everything at 1.5 speed but it means in less than a week I have almost listened to the entirety of what is available. Mainly cause I listen to it at work everyday. NGL, I miss Wes as a character and hope he appears again. The new cast, while worried I wouldnā€™t like them at the beginning, have grown on me so much. They are deep and feel alive and are relatable in so many ways. Man, there are so many things I want to say about this show but I canā€™t put it into words. I canā€™t wait to see where they take the story and am excited about the future of this pod. Now, excuse me while I go and get some Abby merch.

    Itā€™s just a bit muchā€¦
Let me preface this by saying that I love this podcastā€¦Iā€™ve been a fan since day 1 and when it started up again with Adam as the DM I was ecstatic because he was my favorite player in ARC 1. I loved the new additions and where he started taking the podcast, but itā€™s gone a little off the railsā€¦.what started with the original 151 pokemon (with some johto flavoring) turned into the ENTIRE pokemon rolodex, thereā€™s no real 20s flair to it anymore and some of the situations are just a little too fanciful (which I understand is an odd comment for a fantasy based tabletop game taking place in the pokemon world). I gave it a 3 star for now because Iā€™m still hoping itā€™ll come around to start making a little more sense. I still love this podcast, itā€™s DM and itā€™s players

    Where do I even startā€¦
I started listening to this show when it originally released, I fell for the backstories of the characters, the story they all weaved together like magic it was amazing, then the hiatus hit and actually I was really upset, well me and my fiancĆ© both were, but all of a sudden they were back, new cast, different Dm and a great new story again. Ive been hooked again and like a addict I wait every Wed for that new ep to drop to start my work week with on a good time in Kanto in the Jazz age. - Love you all! Keep doing great stuff yā€™all! Amazing!
Absolutely one of the best podcast of its kind of listened to, really enjoy the characters and the storyline. Hoping these guys keep going and find lots of support! Lamented the end of season one. But am thoroughly loving season 2!!

    Just Pure Fun
This show was a great find. Every minute is a joy to listen. I couldnā€™t be more excited every Wednesday with the new episode coming out. The only drawback? They havenā€™t released a playerā€™s guide so I can play at home.

    Entertaining and diverse
The world of this podcast has always been fun, and I think the interruption and reboot were handled really well. I love the new cast and want to play with them sometime. Also, still not over how they appear to have rescued Giovanni ('s grandfather?) from joining Team Rocket!
  • JupesLeNupes
    A stellar new team
Iā€™ve been a big fan of TRT since day one, and my heart was broken when they went on hiatus. I never couldā€™ve guessed that when they returned with a new cast, it would fill me with all the same excitement and then some. This show will have you at ā€œblehā€ šŸ’•

    Itā€™s Back!
The PokƩmon themed DND adventure is back. Adam (Atticus in season 1) takes a new trio through Kanto in the Jazz Age five years after the first campaign. Levinia, a rich party girl who has just been cut off by her wealthy Dad, and her Caterpie; Stella, a 19 year orphan with a mysterious past searching for answers and her Psyduck; and Mynt, a laid back dude who gets a surprising encounter that kicks him into gear and his Oddish; are off on a whirlwind adventure.

    Fun and interesting
I like this podcast for the energy and nostalgia. I have always liked PokĆ©mon, but the cutsie feel turned away over the years. I like that this podcast doesnā€™t shy away from talking without restraint and changing the PokĆ©mon world. The point of tabletop rpgs to me is to bend the world around you. Even when battles are not occurring the story keeps you entertained. They donā€™t seem to get bogged down by any extraneous details.

    Recently started, canā€™t stop
I found this on my recommended and I decided, what the heck, and I gave it a listen. By episode 0, they had me hooked. I donā€™t know if they are still making these but I truly hope they are because they are amazing. The PCs are well rounded characters with realistic and sensible motivations. The NPCs make sense in the world and they all have fun chemistry with the players. I love this podcast. Would recommend.

    Long time listener
Initially I was a bit hesitant about a PokĆ©mon podcast set in the roaring 20s. However, this podcast proved that you canā€™t judge a podcast by its summary and thumbnail. Wonderfully integrated backstories and well built world, filled with Monty python like antics: when you think its going well, the guys take a sudden left and we all start sweating bullets. Overall, engaging and hilariously fresh take on playing PokĆ©mon.

    Great job!
By far my favorite PokƩmon podcast. Well worth my time and yours.

    Storytelling expertise
So glad these guys are back! The captivate my mind as I listen to what they have created. They have funny moments, deep moments, dark moments, action, and drama. Itā€™s everything you want in entertainment and in my opinion better than any television show. Keep doing what you do fellas. It beyond amazing. Pure Genius.
  • Hexibah
    One of my absolute faves
Iā€™ve enjoyed this podcast SO much. And this from someone with the barest knowledge of PokĆ©mon! The storytelling is wonderful; Gatlin does an excellent job as the GM and his flexibility is impressive. The players all work fantastically together and their humor is a delight. I canā€™t count the times Iā€™ve been sitting and listening and thought to myself, ā€œMan, I wish *I* could play with these guys!ā€ I hope this show continues for many sessions to come!
  • Boomernme
    Great story telling, good fun
This group of friends does a wonderful job from their passion through to editing. The story matters, the characters have skin in the game, and thereā€™s appropriately timed comedic relief. Freaking love all of it!
  • EFCM6476
    The best PokƩmon podcast going
By turns hilarious and sad, with a slow-burning, tense plot and characters (both people and PokƩmon) you can't help but to root for. The Roaring Trainers has everything--everything!--you could want from an adventure podcast, let alone a PokƩmon one.
  • CAJBTSKB
    10/10 Would Recommend
My fiancĆ©e and Iā€™s FAVORITE podcast to listen to together. The characters and players have great chemistry and are always a hoot. Great role playing and story telling

Always been a fan of PokĆ©mon since Red version in the 90ā€™s with my Charmander, so when I first discovered a PokĆ©mon based D&D I was completely surprised by what one could do when it came to creating a unique PokĆ©mon world with a region that is either already established in PokĆ©mon or with one that is based on the regions but is molded to fit the DMā€™s whims. I am always on the lookout for new PokĆ©mon D&Dā€™s with great characters and a great story. Now Iā€™d love to see someone do one in Alola & Galar!

    4.5 Stars
This show is hilarious! Love the chemistry between these guys. The only negative is that they donā€™t release episodes very often, one maybe two a month.

    Next Campaign
I love many things and Being DM of my group is one. Now my players are begging me to run a PokƩmon inspired campaign. Thankfully, I found some home brew stuff and now have to plan for when we are done the current one(which may have an early end.) Long story short, this show is fantastic and I love listening.
  • PKMN Nerd Scott
    Absolutely Fantastic
Found myself completely immersed in the story from the very beginning. Anyone who has even a slight interest in tabletop games or PokƩmon definitely need to check this podcast out.
  • ThorionThatNicknameIsTaken
    Pretty good
I like this podcast. Iā€™m on episode 4 as Iā€™m reviewing and Iā€™ve listened to a lot of podcasts, so I understand that my gripes may be some early podcast adjustments. If I find that is the case, I will definitely update this review and rating. There are a ton of 5-star ratings on here. Look at them for the positives. I agree with most of them. I only have 2 main negatives, but theyā€™re huge ones, hence the 3-star rating. The first is that the GM cannot seem to go more than 5 or 6 words without at least one of them being ā€œum.ā€ The other is that the battle music is INCREDIBLY repetitive and irritating. These two issues vastly affect the listenability of the show. My only other real issues are that theyā€™re referred to as Red Rocket instead of Team Rocket, and it feels like labeling the show as being ā€œin the Jazz ageā€ has been kind of pointless so far. Team Rocket is obviously mobsters, and thereā€™s been mention of A jazz bar, but other than that this is essentially identical setting-wise to the 1st generation of PokĆ©mon games. Why bother setting it in the jazz age if itā€™s never described in a meaningful way and doesnā€™t impact the story in a meaningful way?
  • The_BIG_Boss10
    How?
How do people even rate this bellow five stars? Iā€™ve listened to this series on Spotify at least 3 full times and I canā€™t wait to listen to it again on apple podcast

The perfect PokƩmon and D&D mix
These guys have impressed me, so much. You can tell all these guys have a passion for role playing and PokƩmon. You feel like you are setting at the table as you get just enough table talk to not distract, but really get to know the cast. Everyone really puts themselves into their characters and fighting is quick enough to not slow down the pace. Only 5 episodes in, but I felt I needed to review this. Will update it after I catch up.
  • Naked Ski Bum
    Amazing!
For both D&D and PokƩmon lovers out there, these guy do an incredible job with their characters and game mechanics! I wanna play this version, i hope they post their game stuff for people to follow soon and play their own PokƩmon RPG!

This podcast is so much fun! You can really enjoy the dynamic of their friendship. Amazing combo of D&D and PokƩmon. And the Roaring 20s! Totally unique and hilarious
  • abihops
    Love it!
Came here from Bombarded, was a bit skeptical about a PokƩmon DND podcast, but I fell in love after the first episode. Great podcast, funny cast, interesting story and brilliant chemistry. What more can you ask for?

pokƩmon and d&d: the best combo
not once did i even think to seek out a pokƩmon/d&d podcast, but my god, this has quickly taken a spot in my top 3 favorite podcasts. the hosts are hilarious and insanely welcoming in the kind of familiar sense that makes them feel like old friends, and the story gets more and more interesting with every episode. 10/10!

    Pokemon + RPG + 4 Friends = Amazing Podcast
Didn't even know there was a 5E D&D skin for Pokemon until this podcast, now I can't get enough of it! The production value from episode 1 and beyond puts this podcast ahead of so many others. If that was enough, the players and GM are great! Having so much fun with this podcast and wishing I had my very own Abra best friend.

    More Roaring Trainers
My favorite podcast to listen to! Iā€™ve listened to every episode more than once! Itā€™s everything Iā€™ve wanted PokĆ©mon to be as I got older! Gatlin, Aaron, Adam, and Nick all blend together with banter and in character to bring a really enjoyable/relatable experience where the listeners almost feel like they are tagging along!
  • CaptainRyMM
    Everything ive ever wanted!
Yes! The story is moving, characters have depth, the players work well togeather, I just love how well thought out this pod is! Also, its what I've always wanted Pokemon to eventually evole to!
  • Neiru
Always looking forward to the next episode.
These guys made a hilarious, original podcast! You donā€™t have to be a huge PokĆ©mon fan to enjoy it, the characters and players make this a fun listen for anyone.
