    Favorite Artists Podcast
As a professional full time oil painter I spend a lot of time listening to artist podcasts. Andrew’s is by far my favorite. He covers so many topics and asks great questions of his guests. It’s been really helpful to me! I often listen as I walk through the wood here in South Eastern Iowa as my inspirational start to the day before I hit the studio. Andrew is 100% the best interviewer not to mention a fantastic painter. Keep it up Andrew 👏🏻

    Patrick Okrasinski
Always enjoy this podcast and find Andrew’s art, discussions, and teaching incredibly valuable. As someone that works in social media it’s always fascinating to hear someone who’s had a little success talk about why they think they’ve succeeded. It can be disorienting. I would say Patrick comes off as someone that has somewhat of rosey view about Instagram’s motivations and what meaning can be derived from a post that “performs” on the platform (in terms of market and value). He sounds like a lot of people who have sort of unconsciously delegated decision making and meaning making to Instagram or similar platforms. Something I find terribly flawed. I don’t even know if he truly believes what he suggests about deciding if your art is good or getting in front of the right audience based on what Instagram arbitrarily decides about those things. All things are not equal. Instagram is a flawed research tool. The algorithm has a monetary intent informed by distraction. It wants users on platform as long as possible. It is not an impartial player that just reflects reality in an unbiased way. It’s strange when people talk about it like that implicitly. The algorithm is a distraction machine. That’s it’s primary function. Deriving meaning beyond that is very squishy. Many artists with huge followings make no money from it and waste enormous amounts of time. In many ways they fuel the machine for free under the guise of building an audience or reach. There are good things about it but there’s a lot of bad and it’s very fickle. If it works for a person, good. I’d be cautious about making broad conclusions about that phenomenon though. It’s strange how many people buy into serving the algorithm almost without question. All hail lord algorithm lol. Popularity helluva drug.

A treasure trove of artistic wisdom
Tisch brings a warm and engaging style to each episode, effortlessly drawing out the rich experiences and insights of his guests. What truly sets this podcast apart is its focus on real-world stories from practicing professional artists. These are not just tales of success but honest accounts of the struggles, triumphs, and everyday realities of living an artist’s life. Listening to episodes like the one with Maria Brophy, I was struck by the depth and relevance of the discussions. Maria’s journey, shared with such candor and insight, provided not only a deep dive into the art business but also a personal perspective that resonated with me on many levels. Whether you’re an established artist or just starting out, “The Creative Endeavor” offers a wealth of knowledge and encouragement. It’s a reminder that while the artistic journey can be challenging, it is also incredibly rewarding. This podcast is a must-listen for anyone looking to maximize their success and find balance in their art career.

Peter Draws YouTube artist interview request
Good afternoon Andrew, enjoy your show greatly. It is very inspiring to hear all the artists that your interview. I am grateful that there are so many out there who can make a living and have such passion. I would like to make a recommendation for an interviewee. One of my other favorite artists beside yourself is Peter draws on YouTube. He’s subsidizes some of his art college expenses with revenues from YouTube. I’ve been following him since 2014. He’s a pen and ink artist. Thank you again for your interviews and well wishes towards your career and creative endeavors.

    Great show
Enjoyed your interview with Joe Paquet and hearing his usual straight talk on the craft, and the mystery, of art.

    Great In-depth Interviews!
Andrew Tischler has great in-depth interviews for his podcast! I just listened to the Joe Paquet interview and wow! Paquet shared so much from his extensive experience that was so inspiring! What was the greatest takeaway from this wonderful conversation was the importance of being authentic as an artist and a person and how quiet time is necessary to feed into a deep life.

    Most inspiring podcast
Andrew, your podcast was the first art podcast I discovered during the pandemic when I finally made the decision to pursue art seriously. Thank you so much for sharing your engaging conversations with inspiring artists along with your incredible artwork as well. PS: you should try to get Juliette Aristides as a guest!

    Inspiring
I am an ambitious young artist myself and find this podcast to be one of the most motivating things to listen to to get me to work. Andrew is a breath of fresh air and his guests share amazing testimonies on their artistic journeys. Lots to learn here other than about art. Please keep uploading! :)

Same Earp Interview = Two Hour Crypto Commercial
I don’t mind that two of my favorite YouTube painters are crypto-bros and globalist conspiracy theorists, but to spend two hours foisting a commercial for crypto while trying to represent it as “this is just how we talk when we hang out” is maddening. Yes, yes, there are almost twenty minutes of apologia at the front end warning us that there will be strong opinions expressed about “what’s going on right now.” It’s still insulting to the listener’s intelligence, because we’re assured this is just two friends talking about what concerns them. No harm, no foul, right? Wrong. The episode is clearly a cynical ploy to lure the gullible into the Ponzi scheme. First off, friends don’t talk like a QVC segment (“hey, tell me again about this thing I’ve already told the audience I know because it’s BLOWING MY MIND, help me understand it!”). Secondly, they’re endorsing something they admit they don’t understand (their attempts at explaining macroeconomics make it even clearer)…they go down the checklist crypto nuts use all the time without addressing any counter arguments, which to the truly critical thinker should raise a red flag. Hey, good for you for making cash on the scam. More power to you, that’s capitalism. But don’t insult the intelligence and goodwill of your listeners to force an infomercial about something you barely understand upon them. At least be honest about your motives. Unsubscribed, here and on YouTube.

    Good listener!
Many podcasters have the inability to listen and respond to their guest in such a natural way as Andrew. No trite standard questions here, just authentic good conversation.

    Great Conversations
It’s refreshing to listen to other painters and various artists offer their perspectives about what art is to not just to them but in the context of today. Moreover I feel like I’m getting to know you all without having the pleasure of literally meeting you and that’s a great feeling; to be able to connect. This podcast for me goes beyond how to find success in medium, money or even fame for the painter or creative person. It’s still so wild to me that someone I’ve never met living on the other side of the planet can connect with anyone at any time. Thank you for that. Cheers, and fins up!

    An Unlikely Fan
I’m pretty sure I’m not your target audience. I could be your mother! I’ll never be a working artist, and I’m content with that knowledge. But man! How I am inspired by you and your marvelous curated collection of guests on this podcast! You’re a gift, Andrew.

    A wealth of inspiration
I don’t think I’ve ever been more inspired. Every time I listen to a new artist tell their story of trials and tribulations, successes and failures, their art process and what makes them the artist they are I’m blown away. The content is so relatable, and educational for those of us who are just starting our journey as a working artist as well as the artists who are already well established. We need this stuff. And, Andrew Tischler delivers with finding some of the best creators out there to be guests on his podcast.

    awesome podcast for young artists!
hi! i am a 21 year old self taught artist trying to navigate my way through the art world and establishing myself as a working artist. this podcast has been an awesome tool in learning about what it takes to be an artist and what steps to take when pursuing a career in art. hearing stories from older, established artists has really helped me think about who i am as an artist and what i can bring to the world through my art (:

    Great Conversations
Andrew’s enthusiasm for art and conversation shines through in every podcast episode. These are genuine discussions about the guest’s journey, beauty in art, and how to navigate the art world. Andrew doesn’t simply ask a series of scripted questions but has a warm dialogue as if between friends. I always look forward to new episodes.

    Excellent, and inspiring!
I first started listening to Mr Tischler on YouTube and listen to the podcast while I’m at work. It’s motivating, inspiring, well done, insightful, and just loaded with goodness. Andrew himself as well as his guests are absolutely worth listening to for any artist or hopeful. He has inspired me to finally make the effort to make a go of my desire to have an art career, to put in the hard work and set goals. He is a wealth of knowledge and he’s so generous with sharing it.

    Inspirational and Authentic
This is my go to podcast as an emerging artist. Each episode is inspirational and informative. Andrew’s interviewing skills are intuitive and he understands an artist’s heart and mind which leads to great interviews. He seems to really know what makes us tick :) I have learned a tremendous amount about painting and myself listening to this series. I have listened to several episodes more than once (I love the Vigil Elliot episode!) Love this series!

    Inspiring and beneficial
This podcast and Andrew’s YouTube channel are a must for artists in the modern world in my opinion. They are full of great recommendations and provide an introduction to new and established great artists. It has inspired me as I launch my Jon Bradham Artist Hike and Plein Air YouTube channel, because I enjoy Andrew’s adventures so much! I find his constant message of supporting artists and to ‘get started’ motivating. Thank you Andrew! Also, sound quality, pacing, depth of questions and time allowed for discussion on your podcast are all excellent! The latest episode with Sandro Kopp was wonderful! He had such insight that resonated. When he became emotional - I was so proud of you for remaining silent, not jumping in to comfort, letting him work through the feelings he was dealing with - that was brilliant. Thank you Andrew.

    Inspiring
The interviews are fun, passionate, informative, and most importantly inspirational. As a young artist trying to navigate the professional art world, it’s refreshing and calming to hear happy and successful artists talk about the work and lifestyle as artist. Thanks Andrew and to all past and future artists he speaks too.

    Inspiring and Thought Provoking
I listen to many podcasts while painting. Andrew is the only podcast I’ve listened to that is not only applicable to my profession, but actually has caused me to rethink some of my approaches and reevaluate how I run my art business. I haven’t found another podcast equal to or better. Five stars all around!

    Terrific!
I've been enjoying these podcasts immensely. They're inspring and uplifting and I can play them in the background as I work in the studio. Its always reassuring to hear that so many artists share the same experiences and personality traits as me. Its so easy to forget that when you spend your days cloistered in your studio!

    Interesting and inspiring
I found Andrew on his stellar YouTube channel. He’s a modern master of the pigments. I have been enjoying his podcast as well. He’s very thorough and guides the conversations to places that all of us fellow artists can relate to. Thanks for the inspiration Andrew.

    Sage wisdom
Not only is Andrew a masterful painter, he is also an exceptional teacher, interviewer, and communicator. There is a lot of information out there on painting, but nothing compares to Andrew’s content. Definitely give this podcast a listen. I especially love episode 12, which has great information on approaching galleries, pricing, and how to be a professional painter. This is a must for painters who want to expand their careers and be represented by galleries. Thank you Andrew for sharing your knowledge with the world.

Must Listen for Anyone Interested in the Art Process
Andrew brings the world of professional artists to life with a detailed and inside look into the behind-the-scenes design, management and business aspects of creating and selling Artwork. His podcasts are filled with all the questions anyone serious about art would want to ask artists who actually make their living creating and selling artwork. Very inspiring and eye-opening, describing the ups and downs, pro’s and con’s of the art world. The interview with Tom Tischler is perhaps the most unique and awe inspiring episode...... very enjoyable and informative! Andrew is a one-of-a-kind artist who gives so much time and knowledge to the world for anyone take and learn from....he understands that education and the sharing of knowledge is not a commodity but a basic human need, and right, that should not be bought or sold!

The Creative Endeavor, by Andrew Tischler, Artist
I have found these podcasts to be informative and compelling. Andrew has interviewed several interesting unique individuals already. Each of them brings something different to the table. Yet as unique as they are, it’s fascinating to note how many habits and thoughts we have in common as artistic spirits. Thank you Andrew for sharing so much helpful information with the rest of us and helping other artists realize how much we actually have in common! It’s nice to know it’s not just me. I look forward to listening to future podcasts and learning what else you have to offer. I truly believe that what you share with the world will come back to you as your career soars. Best wishes!
  • Rowan Carey
    Very informative and inspiring
Anyone who is an artist that also loves podcasts, this may be the best one out there! He’s very inspiring to listen to. Anytime I get discouraged about where I’m going with my art, I’ve found listening and watching Andrew to be very uplifting and positive about what you can do as an artist. Also, he really goes into the business side of art, which I think for a lot of artists is the hardest part, marketing themselves. Thanks for the perfect artists podcast!

    Great information
I found you on YouTube when I was looking for landscape artists! Through viewing your videos and now the podcasts I’ve gotten a ton of information that has helped me along my painting journey. I don’t consider myself a professional painter/artist, I’m retired and am now following my passion whenever it calls me. I really enjoyed the Italian street scene which I am copying, only a I’m painting a larger version. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Btw, it’s 101F today, so I loved that you were sitting by a roaring fireplace because it’s winter at your home. Thanks again NoraH

Thank you, Andrew, for creating a space for artists to share and receive inspiration in such a free form manner :) This is my place to find out about artists I don’t know, and I always follow each on IG to keep that inspiration flowing! Thanks again, Andrew!
