    Patty Hearst series was gripping!
I remember hearing my parents talking about Patty Hearst when I was a kid, but I didn’t know the details. This series on Infamous America filled me in. There was just the right balance of interesting details and big picture narrative, and the story is told with a wry humor when appropriate and sympathetically at the more tragic moments. I highly highly recommend this particular season if the crazy 1970s interests you!

    Binging episodes like crazy
I enjoy the pace and thoroughness of every show. I have listened to the black Sox, The Donner Party and now I am listening to James Wilkes Booth. One of my favorite history podcast so far, I will listen to every season but am picking the ones I’m interested in the most first

    Outstanding
I binged Booth. Extraordinary storytelling, very visual, much like a thriller movie. I was glassy-eyed during the main event.

    Sunday
You must not have listened to “in the red clay “ since you didn’t mention that the Durham murders weren’t committed by BSB
  • Mrs. Gummybear
    Great story presentation
The presenter is a good storyteller and the stories are written well in serial form, keeping the story intriguing… definitely a good binge listen

    Bonus Content Not Worth Subscription
I love this show, but the bonus episodes are too sparse and too short. Not worth the extra $5 a month. Very disappointed & will be unsubscribing.

    Great podcast
I can’t say enough good things about the podcast. I’m a big history nut to begin with, but these folks put out the best podcast. Great job!

    Thoroughly researched and great storytelling!
I just finished season 3 about Billy the Kid and it was enthralling and so informative. Probably the most detailed account of The Kid I’ve ever encountered. Highly recommend if you’re interested in the Old West and Billy the Kid!

    Masterful!
I stumbled upon these podcasts while traveling across the country as a truck driver. What an amazing find! Chris’s voice paired the background audio really brings these stories to life. I have attempted to listen to many podcasts to help pass the time while chugging down America’s highways. No other podcasts seemed to keep me engaged and entertained in the same manner as the black barrel media series. Well done Chris! I absolutely love listening to the stories you tell.

    So interesting!
I love history and I really like that this podcast talks about the darker side of our history. It’s a really interesting podcast that easily makes you want to listen to more. And the narrator is great!

    Love the podcast
Great series and a must listen every time a season comes out. Unfortunately Apple requires me to follow back every other week, because it auto unfollows.

    Entertaining but needs fact checking
I’ve been listening for a while on and off and was excited about the William Desmond Taylor episodes… after listening so much is left out or outright false. I can tell a good bit of the story came from the book Hollywood Babylon which has been discredited many times over. This has made me question the accuracy of the podcast as a whole on the topics I’m less familiar with.

    Pretty good
This is a fairly good podcast, but like so many others,They tend to leave out, relevant and important tidbits of information. Whether it’s by accident, or on purpose to fit their narrative, only they know.

    I’m Addicted!!
This is one of the BEST podcasts I’ve listened to along with Chris Wimmer’s Legends of the Old West Podcast. Chris Wimmer has a voice you can listen to for hours. That’s extremely important to me when I’m driving for hours and need something to listen to. I’ve listened to a few other history podcasts and I can’t stand the narrators. They say so, um, or like too much. They try to be over dramatic while telling the tale which comes across as annoying. I can’t listen to them for more than 5 min. Chris Wimmer is an exceptional narrator. His voice is powerful and captivating yet soothing to listen to. I have no problem listening to him narrate for hours on end. The amount of research and work that goes into each episode is exceptional. The way Chris and his team navigate through each tale making facts, dates, and stories all align and flow exceptional well that there’s never a dull moment. You’re engaged from start to finish.

    Excellent
The highest quality podcast I’ve listened to. None of the usual wasteful 20 minutes talking about what he has personally done since last podcast and trying to be a comedian. Very factual, informative, and a pleasure to listen to!

    History On the Go!
I found this show when searching for some podcasts on Bonnie and Clyde and wasn’t disappointed! I love how you devote entire seasons to to certain people in history and certain subjects! Also, the people and subjects you’ve picked are fascinating! Love this show for its historical facts that I can learn on the go while driving to and from work and the voice overs and sound affects are top quality and make you feel like you’re there!
  • Blueoxbox
    Some stories Rene’s dragged out
Listening to Billy the Kid. It’s very slow at times with so much information that seems repetitive. Very little info on Billy the Kid. More about Lincoln. I like listening but seem at times like I’m bated into listening and listening.
  • Cowboy-outlaw
    Absolutely love
Would love if you could do more outlaw shows, but absolutely love all the in-depth shows and the exact details. I could never find a good podcast about outlaws until I stumbled upon this one.

    ICEMAN IS A DISASTER
This makes me question the rest of the series. I'm out
  • skivvy head
Iceman wasn’t a mob hit man
I absolutely love this podcast my only problem is the new season , the research is lazy and inaccurate which is a huge departure from normal I. This great podcast

    Awesome PodCast
Infamous America is by far the best podcast series I’ve ever listened to. Interesting topics, amazing research and writing, and Chris Wimmer does am amazing job of storytelling. I appreciate the in depth nature, and tell it like it happened approach. Keep going. I love every episodes Amazing!

    Wrong
You have many inaccuracies on your podcast Iceman was not involved with the mob
  • Spencerlea44
    Season 26
Cool podcasts however this entire Iceman series is riddled with wildly incorrect information
  • JacksonJT86
    Some episodes don’t work
Did you know episodes 2 and 3 of the Iceman don’t work!!
  • Cowboyhan
Hands down, best storyteller out there!
Chris Wimmer tells the story of each topic in such a way that you can’t help investing emotionally into each one. Great research and attention to detail! The focus is placed on the human story in each episode. Not gruesome descriptions that don’t contribute to the actual storyline. Lots of really unique subject matter. I will not miss an episode!

    Historical & Mesmerizing
Very well researched and interesting podcasts! I just binged listened to Charles Starkweather and it kept my attention to the end. Despite the graphic warnings - these stories are well written and handle the sensitive material well. I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of this series! Keep up the great work Chris and team!
  • p.cain2246
    Very informative
I listen to this podcast almost daily at work. I’m a history buff, and I often learn things about various subjects that I knew nothing about or the background for some of the actions that have taken place in history.

    Best history podcast!
Found this searching for podcasts on Alcatraz after a recent NorCal road trip. Kids were very interested listening while driving and I picked it back up for other seasons. Very well researched and much better than these comedic faux history podcasts. This feels more like an audiobook than a podcast. Well done!

Very well made and reasonable priced.

This is how podcasts are done
Podcast hosts pay attention! This is how you should record a podcast. No silliness No awful attempts at humor No, “ How you doing?” No body cares. This host starts the podcast and that’s it. Well done!
  • yoga.aha
    pretty good
The Pierre Hotel Heist is too drawn out and the artificial tension along with some of the teasers are irritating. Using the same teaser at the end of one episode and then again at the beginning of the next one is too much, please don’t keep doing that: it’s a major pod faux pas. On the other hand, “Spies Like Us,” is excellent.
  • History senior
    Interesting!
Love this history lesson. The narrator’s voice is perfect for bringing the episode to life. I’m a senior and thought I already knew some of these topics. This podcast puts together the whole story in a way that draws the listener into the past with a new perspective of what probably took place.
  • Gpuckguy
    Repetitive
I try to like it and they do some fun seasons, but it’s become really repetitive lately. A 30 minute story they try to stretch out over 6 episodes by repeating the same stuff over and over.
  • Seanh2412
    Ultimate Podcast
I’m a huge fan of this podcast, I love all the different topics and I’m glad to see someone talk about the Black Sox Scandal. A lot topics I have had an interest in appear on this podcast and I can’t wait to see what’s next l.

    WOW!
I usually don’t write reviews, but this has to be one of the best podcasts I’ve heard. I just finished Season 2 - the Black Sox scandal. Chris is a fantastic storyteller!

    Fantastic Podcast
Very impressive podcast. The storytelling is captivating and the chronicling of the seasons and episodes is very thoughtful - very organized and not what you typically see with podcasts. Great work.

So well researched and I enjoy the narration style. I was hooked with the Leopold and Loeb season and am now working my way through all of them. I love this podcast!
