FreeemmaBeeshamI really enjoyed listening to Beesham but the host seemed dismissive and annoyed with him. Strange because I found him interesting.

Sourdough SuzieLife ChangingI have listened to every episode over the last couple years and it has really motivated me! I started out just making bread for the family for health reasons and now I have a small cottage bakery. Anytime I get burn out or I’m unmotivated, I just listen to an episode and it gets me fired up again! My bread would not be where it is now without this podcast!

charlieneedsawalkLove this podcast!I’m new to sourdough and can’t seem to get enough! I was so excited to discover this podcast. I love the friendly conversations, getting to hear more from the bakers I “know” from socia media, discovering bakers I DIDN’T know about, and all the passion and excitement this community brings to baking and sharing bread. Thanks so much for producing such an informative, positive, and enjoyable podcast. It has definitely been a bright spot during the pandemic.

-
JstevensmemGreat podcastI find myself wondering if I can start a cottage bakery and then I just re-listen to some of these interviews to give me the encouragement to keep taking the steps to running a cottage bakery. Thank you for all of these interviews Mike! You’re exposing this crazy world of baking sourdough out of your house to some of us who would’ve never come across a cottage baker.
-
sourdough cyclistDid you really have to go there?I was really excited when I found this podcast since I’m an avid home baker. Sourdough takes me away from the everyday cares and worries of life especially in these troubling times. For whatever reason you just had to inject race and social justice into the mix. That’s where you lost me as a listener.

MakeatheIf you’ve ever eaten bread.......You should be listening to this. More importantly, if you’ve ever given a second thought to “how does the bread I eat get to my table”, or eat a piece of bread that was so good that you thought about it or even craved it... you should be listening to this. Or if you ever wanted to hear the unglamorous, gritty stories of what it takes to support local farmers, local millers, and hear the struggles of what it takes for people with passion to feed their community - by literally putting bread on the table - you should be listening to this. The stories are real. The bread is real. The people are real. But throughout it, is a wonderfully woven story of communities, passion, and perseverance. If you are still reading this - then you need to stop - and just press play!
-

MrsGoewey2013Newbee but lovers of the processLoving learning about sourdough and the process of it all. It’s so cool to hear from so many people in this community!
-
heypegasusFrustratingDisappointing— I’m a home sourdough baker, always eager for ideas & inspiration about sourdough baking. But this podcast usually focuses on lengthy conversations with bakers who’ve started small artisan bakeries, so it’s all about the business of moving from a home to a storefront or how they made the decision to go for large scale production etc etc. The interview seldom addresses the breads! For me, the emphasis is all wrong. Too long and meandering, too.
-

-

TracyM_67Great guests, fascinating topics, invaluable information. This is a must listen to for anyone interested in baking. Heartwarming stories about community, failure, success and life lessons all rolled up together. If you have baked sourdough at anytime you know how crushing failed loaves are but when you hear seasoned bakers talk about how many times they have failed with bread it helps temper that disappointment.
-
C TurneyIf I can’t be baking bread, I want to hear about it!Great podcast. I’m a beginning bread baker and have been nurturing my little sour dough starter (my starter’s name is Franky, in case you were wondering). It is so helpful to hear from seasoned pros who can provide insight to bread baking. As I learn about temperatures and proofing locations and hydration, the more I hear people talk about it, the more I understand. Looking forward to growing as a baker and learning as a listener.

BreadbakinggirlInspirational for home bakers such as myselfI am a home sourdough baker in the Los Angeles area who is passionate about providing loaves to my local community. Mike’s podcast has really provided a launchpad for me in terms of how I communicate and relate to my fellow sourdough bakers. And most importantly he has created an outlet to make some of the great modern innovators of sourdough accessible to those of us plowing away at home! Thank you so much for making my daily commute more bearable.
