DeejissickLove everything except the politicsGreat game conversations. Politics ruins it for me.

tdaningInterest waningI just don’t like the chemistry between Dean and Deron. Nothing against either of them personally, they seem like lovely guys. But their personalities are just too similar. I think the best multi host podcasts pair distinct and complementary personalities that create an interesting on-air dynamic—and this ain’t it. The podcast content is also getting stale and formulaic. I really don’t know how many more top-five lists I can listen to.

Srb1023Meepletown is the place to be!Are you looking for a podcast about boardgames that you can listen to while you work, run, clean house, do your taxes , etc? This is the podcast for you! Darren and Dean talk about all things boardgames in a way that is fun and easy to understand. They don’t just talk about boardgames, but also their lives and make you feel like you are part of the “town”. They are gracious hosts who invite you over for a potluck and make you want to play the games they talk about with their abilities to describe the mechanics of the game as well as the art and components, and not to mention their enthusiasm. Their friendly bantering keeps the show light hearted, fun and relatable. You will feel like these guys are your next door neighbors. They keep you up-to-date on all the latest news in the gaming world with their “Meepletown News”, and if you’re a big jazz fan, they even have a “jazz club”, and no it’s not your traditional jazz club with music, this club is where they tell you about the boardgames they are jazzed about. So, if you have been searching for a podcast about boardgames, whether you’re new to the hobby or a wise old veteran, or if you like jazz, then check out these guys. You won’t be disappointed.

MrArrowMeepletown is legit!Just listened to the latest episode of Meepletown and if you could see me right now, I’m wearing a grin from ear to ear. If you like modern strategy board games at all you, you need to check out this podcast. Dean is an awesome host that creates a great space to explore new and old board game titles. His reviews and thoughts give you enough to decide if you want to try it but never boring over detailed so that you forget what game he was talking about. My only suggestion get rid of the show’s dead weight (e.g. Jon). JUST KIDDING! Jon’s playful banter is the perfect foil to Dean. Their chemistry makes the show incredible. He’s the Tom Haverford of board game podcasts. You need this in your life. Run, don’t walk, on down to Meepletown. You’ll be glad you did!

Rgill0712Reason for one star ratingI will give a five star rating once I see Dean in skinny jeans. Seriously. But this is a five star podcast. Patiently waiting for the pic.

AirlarryVisit Meeple Town, don’t even need a passport! What a joy to discover Meeple Town, the bon amis of board gaming whose badinage in each episode soars in near dactylic hexameter perfection. Their rich descriptions of our hobby provide hachure-like illuminations of the contours of gaming with the verve of a young Alex Chilton singing “Don't Lie To Me” or the sublime esprit de corps of Doc Cheatham effortlessly playing trumpet with Nicholas Payton. As Dr Aurelius Hogue once said, “You’d be a bovine, clodpated, citified fool” if you don’t listen to Meeple Town.

jmvazquezjrPassionate GamersLet me start off by saying, as politely as possible, John is one of the corniest hosts ever to grace the mic. I’ve cringed hard so many times while listening to this podcast. That being said, he’s also one of the most passionate gamers I’ve ever listened to, and he’s complemented very well by his equally passionate co-host, Dean. You can tell these guys are great buds who just love to play games, and it’s entertaining listening to their opinions. I especially enjoy their top games lists. Just hearing how much they agonize over which games to put in what spot shows how much they love this hobby. Check them out! Just be prepared for no fewer than five horrible dad jokes per episode. P.S. What animal is hated by most board gamers? A cheetah. #JokesForJohn

Nick HayesVery fun board game podcastIf you were here now you would see me wearing my Catan socks, Meeple slippers, and dice pajamas (not really), but you would see me writing a review of one of my favorite board game podcasts! I love MeepleTown, and try not to miss an episode. The camaraderie between John and Dean is great and their friendship and good natured ribbing of each other is one thing that makes the podcast so much fun and easy to listen to. They talk about board and card game news and reviews. I find that my tastes generally align more with Dean, but I like hearing John‘a thoughts too. Sometimes I’m surprised. If you want a fun board game podcast then give MeepleTown a listen. I think you’ll really like what you hear.
