    Inconsistent
Worth listening to for James, Ed and some if the guests really bring it. Giving an average rating here to be honest but this doesn’t reflect how much I enjoy the hosts and some episodes. But some guests, they totally indulge even when the guests are just dull and may only be there for promotion. Having said that some of the people even with heavy promotions have done a really, really funny job. I guess it’s nice that the hosts are loyal to their mates … but they could be more selective about which episodes get released. Maybe they are - and these ARE the best.

    Hilarious
    Loved the Ospreay episode.

Even if you don’t know the guest
I listen even when I don’t know the guest. That’s how you know it’s good. Then after the show, I adore the guest! I’m always curious what the guest eat after the show. Does it make them want whatever they were talking about? Can we get a follow up?

    Never Gonna Give
Rick Astley seems like such a chill, grounded guy and the number one candidate for most boring guest yet. I think I could hear James looking out of the side of his eyes, making sure he hasn't traveled to an alternate universe.

    The Legend keeps on Continuing
It’s pointless having a favourite episode of this because more keep on arriving to flesh out the pantheon- Romesh was the man. Just had to listen to Josh W’s ep over twice back to back. It’s always great when they have a mate on, especially when they’re as good as Josh. Every course was a new adventure. The dessert course was a triumph. Can’t wait for Beckett.

Amy Annette is secretly from the Mid-West of North America
This is a great show to relax to! Plus this episode show cases the specific Mid-West food tradition of salads that aren’t salads!

    Love this podcast
Love this podcast so much! It’s my favorite to listen to while making dinner. This podcast has interesting guests and always has me laugh long all the way through. Makes me wonder what I would choose for my dream menu. Keep it up James and Ed and come do live shows your in the USA! PS I visited London in June 2024 and ate at Afghan Kitchen per Lily Allen’s episode- it felt like a very circle moment as a fan and the food was incredible. ❤️

I’m late to the party, but this is amazing!
As a Southerner, listening to James, Ed, and Noah describe a cobbler is hilariously amazing!!

A fun, entertaining podcast! I’m not a foodie but I love the dynamic and banter of the hosts and guests. Well done!

    Since I’ll Never Be On…
Still or Sparkling Ice cold tap water from Chamonix, France after a long day of skiing. Poppadoms or Bread Alon Shaya's (from Shaya's in New Orleans) pita bread with a small sample of every sauce Dishoom makes, except the ones with cilantro/coriander. Starter Charcuterie board to be composed of three types of pickled vegetables, three types of mustard, three types of olives (including Castelvetrano) a soft French cheese, an extra sharp cheddar, and a surprise cheese, the salami from the place off San Marco square near one of the little bridges in Venice that I can't find on Google maps no matter how hard I try, a pepperoni, and a surprise cured meat. Main Split order of the chef from Dishoom's choice of curry with lamb meat, and the Chilli Chicken (at the "I've-been-to-India-and-I-want-to-order-it-hot" spice level) from the restaurant that used to be at Renfield Street and St. Vincent Street in Glasgow. Side The roasted/smashed baby potatoes from that expensive restaurant in Killarney I accidentally went to, sat down and ordered at, before looking at the prices. Drink A blind taste test of the exact wines from The Judgement of Paris followed by a flight of the top 4 Blaufränkish wines in the world. Dessert Sticky toffee pudding (Doesn't matter from where, does it? Cause they're all glorious.) with a scoop of cheap soft serve vanilla ice cream and a dollop of Nancy Silverton's (Mozza restaurant group in LA) butterscotch budino. Also, this podcast is amazing. I love it.

    Food lovers
I know these two from Taskmaster. This is great to listen to while I drive to fill the gap! Lots of fun food ideas. Love to listen to two people who love food as much as I do.

    a joy
just recently found the pod and am endlessly entertained as I go thru the catalog while staying current. the banter these two have is good enough so the insane guests are just the icing on top. 10/10 no notes.

    Love these hosts
Love how quick witted our hosts are. As a long time Buffy fan particularly enjoyed Anthony Stewart Head episode. He seemed absolutely entertained and giddy with laughter. Saw someone ranking on a recent episode which I actually enjoyed as we seem to feel so entitled to negative press and judgments it was actually nice to see (hear) her just having a good time and talking about food. Anything else going on is none of my business. Thank you for a thoroughly entertaining time and more, please.

    Never disappoints
This show is just fun. James and Ed are a perfect pair and really bring out the best in their guests. The Jamelia episode is my new favorite!

    This is my comfort food
I’m not a big podcast person, but I’ve loved James Acaster’s work since stumbling across his amazing Netflix specials (and then watching Cold Lasagna oh…. about 10 times). This podcast though is the ultimate comfort food. Their sincere friendship; the great insights they elicit from guests through the disarmingly simple format; the great food recommendations. Many of the great episodes are fun on re-listening too (never thought I’d say that of a podcast). Cheers to 200 more!

    It’s very nice
I’ve listened to every episode, some more than once. What more can I say to recommend? Not that you asked, but… Grocery store croissants from the exploding cans Cold, still water Chinese vegetable roll Caesar salad from Tony’s Town Square Restaurant in Disney World, circa 1994 Dad’s homemade root beer float Mom’s apple crisp

Thanks to those guests who carry the show
It’s clear which guests are good at networking with executives or working a live audience. They’re adaptable, good natured, and even have something interesting to say. They can just be really deft. You can also tell when they handle the hosts with aplomb. cuz they’re not good, the hosts don’t want to be good. Some episodes you can listen to over and over: Tim Ley, Jason Reitman. But for your sake, unsubscribe.

    Adore
I adore Ed and James and this podcast so much. We have started playing the off menu game at parties as an ice breaker, and this year for my 50th birthday my family members all made my favorite drink, bread, starter, main, side and dessert (always dessert James!!) for me. It was wonderful and we are making it a tradition for all of our big birthdays! Thanks so much and Steve-O totally Ackroyded.
  • Amy89K
    I normally love this podcast
But who is this git? This is unlistenable. he’s not nearly as interesting as he thinks he is. I don’t want to say you should never meet your heroes that’s completely your business. But for the love of all that’s holy please don’t make us meet them too.

    Delicious
Great podcast. Thanks to the people on YouTube who upload the panel shows, i know these two guys and their guests. Always lovely, never sucking up to their guests like some other podcasts... I'm looking at you Smartless' hosts. Keep it delicious! No cabbage!

    Might be good
This may be a good podcast, I just can’t understand a word.

    An Enjoyable Distraction
I almost always find this podcast enjoyable, even if I am not familiar with the guest (which is often). Occasionally a guest is not my cup of tea, but the vast majority are cool. Some episodes make me laugh out loud at my desk at work, such as the recent Ep. 199 Celya AB. The best of distractions!

I have r-cpd like Paul Foot!
I’ve never commented before, but I just had to on this one. Imagine my surprise when I hear a guest on my favorite podcast talking about R-CPD! It’s so unusual to find anyone who has this or even knows about it! There are so few doctors that perform the Botox injections that it’s almost impossible to find without some extensive travel. I’ll have to try to find the burp training YouTube videos he was talking about. Wow, what an episode 😊

Boys. This is fantastic. But Nish, come to the US. I'll make you my Cream Cheese Peach Cobbler. 100% you'll love it so much, nothing else will compare.

    My favourite podcast
These guys are a brilliant pair - they clearly love food and are wonderful friends. A joy to listen to; thank you for all those times I’ve burst out laughing while listening! Cannot wait for Series 9 to launch!

    James Acaster,fan for years
I have been a fan of James Acaster for years. I have adored Ed gamble for two years. And I have never laughed so hard at a comedian as I have laughed with and at Judi Love. Thank you thank you

Extremely attracted to Louis Theroux after listening to his episode

    Judy Love
I laughed from start to finish at the Judy Love episode. As an expat scouser in Portland, Oregon, USA (since 1999), it made me so homesick for the English. I’d never heard of her before, but I want to be her best mate. Totally genuine, authentic episode. Great show.
  • JayRK1972
Sounds just like the old pod!
I stopped listening to a pod called Menu and only listened to Off Menu for a while, and now they sound the same to me!

I’m obsessed with these two idiots
This is such a fun concept and I love how ridiculous these two are together. They are the perfect duo!
  • Susanrhill
    Hilarious and entertaining
Once you can get past the absurd premise (that the English have any right to assert strong opinions when it comes to food) this podcast is great!

    Listening and dieting…
Started a strict diet as well as exercising. Listening to the podcast on my daily walk is a challenge, not because of all the food being talked about, but because I sometimes have to stop walking, actually laughing out loud. The look I get from people is an added bonus. Thanks for the laughs and help in making exercising easier!

Podcast so good it gave me ✨dry socket✨
Got my wisdom teeth taken out. Listened to the Maisie Adams episode. She made The Noise. Laughed so hard I popped my stitches. Got dry socket. No regrets. 10/10 would do it again.

PERFECT but stop talking about calories when I’m trying to relax and have fun xoxo
love and adore! would enjoy even more if we could ditch the food moralizing/food guilt/diet talk but alas life isn’t the dream restaurant :(

    Hilarious
If you’re an American who’s already listened to every episode of My Dad Wrote a Porno three times, this is the podcast that will quench your British thirst.
