Seems like it’s the same generic information that all these types say and us the right office work jargon. Seems like he’s a bit disingenuous and looks down on the average person/employee and sees them as disposable.

Nick keeps it so stupid simple. Absolutely love his common sense approach to business and how to start with nothing.

Nick does a nice job of offering straightforward solutions to many business problems and practices that plague small business owners and entrepreneurs. Many of these solutions you just don’t hear about from other sources. Amazing value for the time outlay.

This podcast is simply amazing. First, short and to the point. Most books and podcasts are 80% (at least) fluff. This one cuts out the fluff and gets straight to the point. Second, the topics are right on point with information that is critical to starting and running a business. Third, there is no sugar-coating. If you want the entrepreneurial life then he lays out the truth of what it takes to get there. This podcast energizes me, gets me focused and always leaves me with a really valuable tip or information to think about. Thank you, Nick!

Whereas some pods run 45-75 minutes talking around the same point or two, Nick keeps it tight and delivers equal to if not greater value. Great actionable strategies on entrepreneurship and winning in your given field or endeavor.

Good pod, although he got off track for a while and only talked about real estate. Now he seems to be back on track the the sweaty startup content. Much needed, in my view, as n todays environment in residential services. So much opportunity out there that’s been untapped.

I loved it so much better when you would talk about sweaty start up business ideas and how to start one. You told us you would get back with your brother on his lawn care company after he started bringing in pretty good cash. Please go back to the old nick! You still offer great content but the original sweaty startup is better!

Nick I just wanna say thank you for being utterly honest and open in your podcasts. I think you say things from the heart and from experience that people would hesitate to say in a podcast and I appreciate that. It’s refreshing! I also enjoy the no frills format and I appreciate that you will podcast in a car on a trip because that’s the time that you have regardless of the sound quality, it doesn’t have to be perfect, what’s important is the message. I’m a travel nurse now and have been nursing for about 13 years plus. Prior to that I did own a small business in aviation that wasn’t very successful. In 2019 I started to study businesses because I started to invest a little and as I started to understand what made businesses successful I saw how and where I failed in my own business. I am 49 years old and feel the urge to be self-employed again. Seriously looking at cash flowing residential and commercial real estate, reading lots of books, watching lots of podcasts, learning from a lot of different sources. Self storage is my ultimate goal and everything about that business just makes sense to me. But I need capital and to get there I’m planning on building a portfolio in residential real estate as well as possibly starting another small business to then pivot to my goal. I love the use of technology to streamline and automate things as well. Anyway that’s my little journey in a nutshell and I’m excited about the future. He gives you a step by step guide to start a business. He goes as far as to tell you what “ tools” you need and how to obtain them. I’m starting a pressure washing Business and this podcast in whole has saved a lot of mistakes that I would’ve mad if I didn’t hear this. Do with they were longer eps but the eps do have a lot of information packed into each one

I graduated Clemson University in 2011. I found myself in jail at the beginning of the year, and despite all efforts I spent a month in Craven County in NC. I live in SC. Luckily we had tablets in our rooms, I listened to every episode of this and gained a wealth of knowledge. Me and my roommate came up with all sorts of ideas, and me and my girlfriend, who quit her corporate payroll job with benefits, to join me and my ideas had quit her job about a month before I got locked up...business and relationship not starting off great....

I just recently began to listen to podcasts again since I’m in the process of opening my business within the next few months. I’ve tirelessly been getting my ducks in a row per say to hit the ground running once I go live but, been wanting to feed myself throughout the day during my day job. I stumbled across this awesome podcast and I must say, it’s very informative and in line with my current endeavor. The topics are streamlined, mentally engaging and to the point. Nick shares his experience starting a small business with no capital, and teaches aspiring and actual entrepreneurs how to start and run their businesses. He focuses on “sweaty” businesses - businesses that provide a service to local people. It’s hugely informative and worth listening if you run your own small service business - plumbing, electricians, HVAC, and even smaller do-it-yourself businesses.

I’m a software developer and it’s refreshing to listen to a business podcast outside the startup space. This guy is full of common sense and brings it back to the basics. I haven’t heard a single episode I was disappointed with in the past 3-4 months since I discovered this podcast

I don’t listen to every single episode, but today I listened to two that for whatever reason, exactly what I needed to hear. I’m in the early stages of my company and have worked 3 late nights in a row (in addition to my 9-5) and it was wearing on me today. This is probably one of the most realistic ways you can own your own business and work towards changing your life for the better.
