I love this for my younger children whose attention span is about 5-10 minutes.

UPDATE: My 5yo from below is now 11 and his sister is 8. We’ve been listening since the beginning. We STILL listen to the stories and love them! We’re praying the series continues because our entire family learns from them…including my cradle Catholic husband ♥️ - - - - - - - - - We are listening on our way to school and my 5yo loves it! It’s generated lots of great questions and conversations about our saints. Our only complaint is that you can’t produce them fast enough for us!! We are both excited to hear episode 4 😍

I’m so grateful we found this podcast! My kids have listened to all of the stories many times now since we came upon this 8 months ago.😄 I love to listen as well, and have learned a lot about new saints and old, and about my faith. I also love how solid and no nonsense the content is: presents the Faith clearly and unabashedly, and challenges us to live out that Faith in our daily lives. Does not dumb anything down for kids!🙌 The only downsides are 1) there have only been three new stories in the past several months (we’re always excited for more), and 2) the sound effects, which are great, are really poorly mixed! Sometimes louder than the reader’s voice — and loud enough to startle (especially at bedtime 😖😆). But otherwise, I highly recommend (and usually do to anyone I can think of). Thank you for all your work in putting this podcast out!

Not being Catholic and not having children, I am not the target audience, but I find this series a pleasant and easy-to-listen-to introduction to the various stories and ideas. I assume the narrator works with children, because she does a great job of keeping her voice light and friendly, even when voicing serious moments, and wonderfully balances keeping concepts simple without talking down to the audience.

We listen often to these podcasts! My toddler loves the St. Nicholas one, and we like listening to the stories of saints that are in her Shining Light Dolls Saint Match Game too. Some of these saint stories had sad or difficult topics (slavery, martyrdom, persecution) but they are touched on gently and have not bothered my child, but you may want to listen and decide before you play it for your child. Thank you so much for this excellent podcast. Please make a Saint Veronica podcast if possible!

My 7 yr old has asked to listen to these every night for the past 2-3 years. We usually get through 5 or 6 episodes before he falls asleep, so we have listened to most of the stories literally dozens of times. We are always excited to see a new episode. Also exciting for us- there are episodes for all but one of the Saints my children are named after : Nicholas, Isabel (Spanish for Elizabeth/Elizabeth of Hungary), Leo, Thérèse, John Paul, Magdalena, and Maximilian. My son loves this! I like it too. Docking one star for some weird pronunciations (Augustine, Capuchin) that I feel should be correct on a Catholic podcast.

I really question the story you chose to tell about St Therese. It confused my children and prompted questions about Santa and St Nicholas. Out of all the stories you could have shared about her, this was probably not the best one so why tell it when you have an audience of children?

My kids, 2 1/2 and 4, both love to listen to these stories! They’re well told, and the sound effects and music really add to the telling! Thank you to Chantal and the crew at Shining Light Dolls for such a fun podcast.

I listen to a different saint story each day and then I play the story for my 5 year old. It helps me connect and bond with her during our ride to school and she is very interested and amazed by these stories. All of them are great examples of how to become holy and great topic conversation ideas for families. I even tell these stories to my non-practicing husband. Keep it up!
