    Finally!
After years of trying to make math workshop work in my classroom….Jamie has given me a common sense system that I am so excited to implement this fall! If you want to work in small groups with your students (who doesn’t?) but don’t think you have the time or are overwhelmed at the very idea of centers, or think it will be making multiple lessons plans for one math block, you have to give this a listen! She faces those obstacles and provides you with tons of resources to get you way down the road in your prep. She pretty much has invented the wheel…you just have to pull the wagon. Thanks, Jamie!

7 Ways to Make Virtual Learning More Fun
As my district is about to switch to virtual teaching, there has been a lot of panic and nerves of the unknown. This podcast has put things into perspective! She totally makes it seem like we can do this! She gives great ideas to help keep kids engaged and motivated to continue to do their schoolwork while at home while also continuing to make connections with your students. This was fantastic! Thank you!

  • KateCM
    Practical and worth it
She has lots of great ideas. I don’t agree with everything. For instance, do NOT have a substitute teach a new game from reading the directions that day unless you always have subs who are used to your grade level and you are sure they play games and have some basis for understanding it. They don’t have time to read that and it’s not as self explanatory as you might think. However, most of her advice is smart and practical. She may sound like she is recording in the bathroom, but you’ll get some great advice like have a special substitute behavior plan. Post it big in your room so kids will believe the sub. Great ideas. Just make it easy. Very very easy. I didn’t understand the bingo explanation (draw a card?) and I’m pretty smart but elementary was not my level...Add a petal for each student each time they are respectful? Ain’t nobody got time for that.
