2 out of 5 words pronounced wrong
In episode 100, 2 out of 5 words pronounced wrong! macabre and zeitgeist. That is really disappointing to me, I am going to look for a better researched, more accurate option

    Room for improvement
While I appreciate the effort to teach new vocabulary words, this podcast needs work. Here are some of my tips for improvement: 1) The sound: Not sure if this has been fixed in recent episodes but it is incredibly frustrating how big of a difference there is between the music and the speaker’s voice. The speaker’s volume is too low so I often have to play it at nearly full volume in my car. Seconds later, the music will start playing and it is so incredibly loud it blasts out my ears. Please fix this. 2) Spelling, mnemonics and word categorization: I noticed the speaker does not spell the word nor do they say if a word is a noun, adjective or verb. I value these things as it helps me properly incorporate the word into my vocabulary. I also listen to this podcast when I commute (driving) so I am unable to look at my phone to check the spelling. In addition, I think many listeners would appreciate a mnemonic to better help us recall the definition. Please add this information. 3) The speed & format: The episodes are structured such that in the beginning, the speaker is rapid fire defining the words, followed by using the words in a short, somewhat relatable passage. I find the rapid defining of words to be too fast. You're not giving your listeners enough time to digest the information you're saying. I often have to rewind multiple times just to catch what the speaker is saying. Slow down. Add the information I mentioned in point 2 when defining a word to give the listener time to understand. After all these words are unfamiliar to us. Perhaps even use the word alone in a sentence so that we get a feel for how it's used. Then you can get to the part where you use them in a passage. Just my opinion of how to improve.

Overall good but sound quality isn’t great
It’s really difficult to hear the male speaker, even with noise cancelling headphones

Sound quality is all over the place
Don’t get me wrong, this is a really helpful podcast. However having gone through almost half of the episodes, something I have found it incredibly frustrating it isThe sound imbalance between the music and the host audio. For instance, when I’m listening in my car, the intro music will blast like an EDM beat. But when the host starts talking, I have to turn the volume up to maximum because he talks at a whisper. If I forget, the volume absolutely wrecks me when it blasts again. Please fix that because this podcast could be five stars!

    Poor pronunciation and word usage
Many words were mispronounced and used in incorrect or awkward contexts. A decent way to get a general understanding of the vocabulary, but the mispronunciations and force-fit usage bothered me on many occasions throughout the 30+ episodes I listened to.

    Helpful but audio is painful
The sentences are great, it’s really sticking. But the volume difference between the ads and actual content is a bit annoying. I have to constantly raise the volume for the guy talking and immediately lower down for when the girl is talking otherwise it sounds like she is yelling at me. Hope they see this

A nice lowkey way to passively study
While it’s not a true substitute for studying, it’s a great way to fill open time during your day with vocab review. I listen to the episodes while running or driving. The audio quality could be a bit better, but the little anecdotes and example uses in the short paragraphs at the end of each episode help to solidify your comprehension of the words. The only suggestions I would make would be to keep spelling out each of the words when giving their definitions in the beginning (like you do in some episodes) and to then review those definitions following the example paragraph. I think bookending the paragraph with the words’ definitions would help clarify any confusion about their use in that little narrative.

    Simple and short
You can tell this is not professionally done, but I just need to learn these vocab words before my test. It’s short and mildly entertaining. For homework, that’s five stars
