GrnukdndjudnIf you enjoy Lovecraft, you’ll love Boston Harbor Horror!I always enjoy listening to this show. The characters are well-developed, the plot of each season is always gripping, and the writing in general is very well done. I really enjoy how each season is somewhat based upon different characters and plots of various H.P. Lovecraft stories. This show feels like a modern day extension with a different point of view of some classic Lovecraft stories. Anyone who enjoys Lovecraft’s fiction, or just likes works inspired by Lovecraft/Cthulhu Mythos will thoroughly enjoy Boston Harbor Horror. It seems like Asylum 94 are taking their time with the upcoming episodes of season three but I’m certain it will be well worth the wait; I’ve never been disappointed by a single episode of this show! Thanks so much for a great show, Mike, cast, and crew! Here’s to many more seasons of this excellent show!

RHcockCould be great.Good story with too many sound effects, for far too long, in almost every episode. The exact same story could’ve been told without overdoing it so horribly. If there is a dramatic bit or a sound effect, it’s overdone.

cwby_junkyWow — in spades!Compelling narrative; well developed characters; and superb audio production Thanks Mike and team!

SylverkittieAwesome!I was trying to find a podcast I actually listening enjoyed to, and thought I’d give this a try. Been reading Lovecraft for many years, and thoroughly enjoyed the influence in this podcast. Writing is awesome, just like the acting. Liking forward to many more!

Screamindivr145Please Recast AlvarezThe story is interesting, most of the cast are very competent, but whoever plays Alvarez seems to think stereotypical pompous upper class voice is synonymous with educated professor. It just sounds really obnoxious. If it weren’t for that, it’d be one of the best lovecraftian podcasts.

Me x 7Ok story, not great voice actingThis is between a 3 and a 4, giving it a 4 as it is a good effort. However the voice acting is not great, and can take away from the believability of the story. Some voicing seems too young to be believable with some amateur pronunciation errors. Loads of dialogue jammed with story element that try to come across as authentic but come off as not believable.

rosevestGripping!I listened to seasons one and two in less than a week! After listening, I made sure to check the dark corners of my room before bed. Great job BHH! I can’t wait for more!

grneiesheaded for my second time aroundwhile waiting for next 3rd season, any season! with no end in sight of the lockdown, i am ready to start over to listen to first podcast because i enjoy the story so much! The cast voices are prefect. Want more on the sea and the lighthouse. Or underwater finds. Actually anything you all come up with is great. sound affects too wonderful. Keep the faith, you are doing a great job. Do not doubt yourself. stop over thinking it, just do it. Good luck. I’Ll be listening.

Paprat1234567890Technical SupportThere’s something not quite flowing well. Noticing the breaks from when one person speaks to the next is very distracting. It is just not flowing well. Production and editing need to join hands and come together.

SlashabaGreat Story tellingThis podcast is spooky and fun. Very good story telling. I got sucked in and didn’t even realize I had worked my way through 3 episodes.

ArchaomanAccurate ArchaeologyHooked on the first few episodes. Live a good Lovecraft series

Listener924Hooked... but...Great podcast! However, mispronouncing well known areas around New England/Boston definitely kills some of the charm. ☹️
-
JjeellyySeems ok so far; interesting, except...The voices on the phone! We can barely understand the people on the other side of the telephone!!!! Stop trying to imitate telephone band-pass.
-
Ell GamesterMy favorite podcast.I've got a lot of sentimentality for this podcast, and honestly its such an accurate depiction of what New England is like, I thought everyone knew about the underwater cities but I must be wrong. In all seriousness though this is a fun and intriguing podcast and I love it so much.

Blake'ssGreat story! This is a hard review for me to write because I think the story is great. We don’t get many Lovecraft podcast stories and this is a good one but the voice acting kills it for me and takes me out of the story to consistently. Once it starts happening I have to listen to something else for awhile until I can forget the acting and reset my tolerance levels. I don’t want this review to come off harsh or mean spirited but instead I want this to be taken as constructive criticism. If the voice actors emoted more and put more feeling into their lines this could easily be a 4 or 5 star podcast. I am hoping a second season will change things and make the voice acting reach the talent of the writing to make this podcast something special (which it for sure can be!) Thank you for the time and effort making this podcast!

katiathemickHail CthulhuLocal flavor, crime procedural, sci-fi, horror -- all mixed together and this is what you get. Really enjoyed the first half of Season 1 and can't wait to see what happens next!

DJ Mike ZeroHard passThe audio production & sound design on this is just awful. It’s very amateur. The dialogue in cringe inducing, the voice acting is flat and wooden. Overall just an unpleasant experience.

LaymonaterMehDespite the recent quality of the audio production (some moments I definitely had to turn my speaker down for), the show failed to live up to my expectations as a writer and a coast-guardsmen. Some of the acting is a bit canned, but that mostly stems from the writing. There is very little to grab onto as far as character goes, and most everyone exists for the purpose of over-explaining things. I think the creators and writers have potential to really make something great with a bit of time taken to learn the fundamentals of character and storytelling. But like I said, excellent audio production and sound design minus some iffy volume moments. Keep it up, keep learning and you’ll go far.

Native BostonianGreat characters, local flavor and historyI am looking forward to the continuation of Boston Harbor Horror. Enjoyable repartee, intriguing plot, local references, historical background and Coast Guard lingo provide multiple points of interest for the listener.
-
WolfAMongUsA riveting tale of a watery mysteryThe feeling of creeping dread that BHH is able to create has kept me riveted from the first episode. The realistic details of coast guard life keep the more fantastic elements grounded and enhance the storytelling. Sound design is also very well done!
