    Quick-wins & biblical advice for the long-haul
I’ve listened to Nancy for years and have picked up tons of practical life-hacks for motherhood and marriage. Her systematic and thoughtful approach to so many different areas of life is fun AND a blessing to learn from! More importantly it is clear in her content that she puts a biblical lens over all of life, so in addition to learning solid methods from her, she shares biblical principles throughout too. Thank you Nancy!

Pleasant and helpful in every way!
I eagerly listen to the episodes every week. I can relate to Nancy so well with 4 kids the same ages and trying to help my husband run a farm business from home. Her voice is also the sweetest! She gives real life advice and it obviously comes from a genuine heart!

    Short & Sweet
I love the length of Nancy’s episodes and the practical tips and encouragement she shares. She gives examples of methods/ideas that have worked for her family without saying that’s what ALL people should do.

    Practical and Christ Centered

    Relatable and inspiring for moms!!
I love listening to Nancy talk about how she runs her household, plans her days, and holds fast to her faith. She consistently shows up with grace, communicating in a gentle way the tips she has learned for work and play in daily life, and what she is learning from authors and podcast guests. It’s like listening to an older sister while I’m in the thick of raising littles.

    The Real Deal!
Oftentimes when I listen to podcasts, I wonder what the person recording is like in real life compared to the way they portray themself to be while recording. I have had the privilege of getting to know Nancy over the last year and I can confirm that she is just as (if not more) genuine, kind, and compassionate in real life as she is on her podcast episodes. She is the real deal and I consider it a blessing to learn from her!

Nancy truly talks to you in her episodes like a friend! I first saw Nancy speaking at a Mother’s Day event and was really moved by her words!!! I went home that day a listened to her most recent episode and have been hooked since! I have gotten so many helpful mom tips and life tips. Cannot say enough great things about Work & Play! Give her a listen!!!

    Short, sweet & helpful
I really appreciate this podcast and encouragement in motherhood and business. Plus the episodes are short and sweet which I am 100% on board with.
  • LizzieD219
    Unrealistic
This podcast feels out of touch with the other 99%. Most people can’t just take chunks of time off of ‘work’. Granted, I’ve never worked for myself. I just worry for people who try to attain this lifestyle and come up short because…we are human…and life. Debt free is impossible for the majority of the world trying to scrape by on minimum wage.
  • PineappleOfMyEye
    Helpful, relatable, and encouraging
As a first time mom of a 16 month old, I’m still learning how to be a mom while balances work and all the other responsibilities of life. Learning how Nancy does it while remaining centered in Christ has been encouraging and inspiring. I love how realistic, honest, and open she is in what she shares. Thank you, Nancy, for taking the time to share this podcast!
  • rf2023
    Not realistic
Nancy is very inconsistent in her podcast releases, and constantly stresses how the podcast is more and more of a burden. You can’t speak to women about balancing work and play, while she openly admits she is pursuing less and less work and more play. It feels like she is role-playing a working mom and she comes from a place of entitlement, which she mentions often.
  • juliet lapham
    My favorite podcast!
I absolutely love listening to Nancy’s podcast whenever I have the chance! I always walk away feeling encouraged and so inspired to live life more intentionally! Listening to this podcast truly feels like catching up with an old friend! Grateful for you Nancy!

    Transparency and Trustworthy!
Coming from someone that’s followed along with Nancy for more than 10 years, she has been a consistent source of timely encouragement for my life as a mom and entrepreneur. She is consistently genuine & transparent, and very trustworthy! I look forward to this podcast every week!

    Refreshing!
Nancy shares so many hopeful, encouraging and practical things. From motherhood to business to following Jesus. Encouragement and challenging thoughts all together.

So grounding and practical as a momma!
As a mom of littles, this podcast is so helpful to me and just fun to listen to! I describe it as grounding because Nancy usually has a biblical insight or foundation to what she’s saying and yet it’s got so many practical tips and nuggets woven throughout. I love that with all the practicality she encourages her listeners to ultimately seek the Lord and His word and wise counsel above and beyond her tips. When I listen, I feel inspired and encouraged to continue dreaming and working towards things that will help me thrive in this season of life. The recent episode on tension really ministered to me as it’s exactly what I am experiencing and she used a very specific verse at the end that God had already put in front of me this week. It just showed me that she really is listening to the Lord and letting Him guide her topics and go where He leads. I’m thankful and I just love hearing how another mama is working through life, marriage, parenthood , work ministry , ect. The sick episode recently also reallllly ministered to me! Thank you Nancy for your faithfulness and hard work!

    Out of touch
Unfortunately Nancy Ray is out of touch with average people and seems to exhibit a know it all attitude. The episode about getting out of debt a second time is nothing but her bragging about being debt free. Sorry, I live in the real world. Don’t waste your time listening to this podcast.

    Best Podcast
I don’t listen to many podcasts, but this one I just keep coming back to over and over again listening to them multiple times. Each time I re-listen to an episode, I get something new and encouraging from it. This Podcast is timeless, encouraging, and applicable to daily life. God has gifted Nancy in speaking truth through everyday life. I look forward to every episode and am thankful that she puts herself out there and does this.

I don’t know why it took me so long to start listening to podcasts but I’m so glad I am now! I’ve been following Nancy since before she had kids and my three kids were born around the same time as her older three so I can really relate to the season of life that she is in. I love the godly wisdom and practical advice. I love the interviews and lessons she has learned from being off of social media and the book reviews. It is a joy to listen to and helps keep me productive and away from mindless scrolling on social media.
  • CPSmom13
    Kind of out of touch
I’ve followed Nancy for years, and really enjoyed her early podcasts! But overtime I’ve come to realize her world and life are just… out of touch. She comes from a very strong place of privilege and struggles with how to relate to certain members of her audience. I think if you fall on the avoid difficult topics because you don’t like “cancel culture”, don’t “fear” (by that I mean covid, yep that’s the boat she was clearly in during the pandemic), have a token person of color on your podcast because you chose to be silent last summer but want to show you do know and love people of color, give up a career to be a homemaker, homeschool children, be a Dave Ramsey thumping type person, then this is a great podcast for you! I’ve just honestly outgrown Nancy and want to always give it another chance and am often reminded why I stopped being an avid listener. It’s a shame because she has a great speaking voice but alas 🤷‍♀️

    Practical and Fun!
I always learn something from and am inspired by Nancy’s episodes! I love how genuine and loving she is. She’s full of wisdom beyond her age and fun to listen to as well. Thank you Nancy, and keep it up!
  • Fun, can be hard
    Good in every season
I’ve been an avid listener of this podcast for just about two years now, I’m not sure how I came across it when it was just beginning but I am so glad I did bc I have learned more than I can put into words from Nancy! Although most of the people listening are probably moms or businesswomen, when I started listening I was just a 21 year old college student and am now only 23 and listening to so much advise or the next seasons of life I will enter. Nancy’s podcast has the most practical and Gospel centered advice for every season of life you’re in or will be in! I cannot wait to see all that continues to come from this platform!!

    Recent Find
I recently found this podcast, and I love it so much! I love how Nancy is really open about how her faith affects her life; some podcasts just seem to kind of dance around that, and so love that she’s just herself and lets that be a part of what she talks about. I also find that many podcasts talk about the same topics in much the same ways, but Nancy’s podcast is refreshing and brings a unique perspective to both old and new topics. You have a new fan! Keep it up.

    Encouraging, God-glorifying and authentic
In this season of being a stay-at-home-mama with 2 kiddos under 3 while also pursuing a wedding photography business, everything Nancy shares her heart in a way that I can 100% relate to. I’ve replaced my mindless television watching with listening to podcasts while multitasking. Work & Play has easily moved up the ranks to my favorite podcast to listen to. Nancy shares her authentic faith which is a continual encouragement to prioritize my faith and time with the Lord. She encourages mamas, she teaches, she inspires. This is a must listen to for Christian mamas looking for a source of encouragement from a fellow believer who is in this same season of life. She’s like the big sister you don’t have, full of wisdom, a gentle voice and encouragement.
