jwv9723Not About the HandsThe best thing about this podcast isn’t about the hand breakdowns themselves, but the deep reflection and introspection that emerges from the insightful conversation that follows. Hearing many perspectives has helped me think about the game in a refreshing new way.

UmmmmdonutsBest Lead-in!This podcast could be subtitled, "What Really Smart People are Thinking Right Now." The episodes feature the brightest minds in a wide variety of fields. They start by analyzing a poker hand but often branch out into... well, who knows where the conversation will go? I have to keep a pen and notebook handy so I can write down book titles or guest names which provides me with lots of future entertainment and learning. Jen and her guest will often touch on current affairs in poker but without the drama and political bias so often found elsewhere. I also like that a lot of her guests are also chess players, as I used to spend many weekends pushing little plastic figures around a vinyl board in some smelly college cafeteria. And finally, this podcast has THE BEST lead-in song of any gambling related show! I like it so much I downloaded it and put it on my random playlist. Thanks Jen!

jmetapeSo much funI started listening about a month ago, this podcast is terrific. I have a very rudimentary understand of poker, and really enjoy hearing the language about poker(under the gun, the nuts, gutshot, etc ) and looking up those terms. Does anyone know what book Peter Svidler mentions in episode 15? It is at the 43:20 mark, I just can’t understand him .. the “underbrokage” book? If you like logic, puzzles , etc ... don’t miss this podcast. It is so interesting to hear how successful players train their minds .

2112at2337Unique Concept that worksReally enjoy it. It’s refreshing and different from most poker pods. If you ever want a story from an unknown rec let me know. I’ll take KK and discuss how it’s related to my cancer recovery.

beijing a.4Great insight. I learn a ton.Jen does a great job of getting the guests comfortable, and that allows them to let their guard down and truly tell what they think and feel. This talent for getting guests to open up is truly special. She is up there with Terry Gross and Marc Maron as the top long-form interviewers out there. I can’t recommend this podcast enough.

DGAFPokerPlayerReally Great ShowMy favorite thing about this amazing show is how Jen cuts right to it with her guests. It’s a rare talent. The concept of the show is brilliant too. And the production quality is second to none in this genre. Highly recommend!

soifman1One of your best episodes !!I’ve listened to all your episodes. So many of them have been very very good. Your brother, Jaime K, Chris Moneymaker and so many more. Liv Boree is so intelligent, she tells such a good story and finds her open window through this closed door. Really great episode!!! 5 Stars!!!

OrionguideMikeThe Grid has become my fav podcast of any genre! Fascinating glimpse into poker as each guest illuminates a different facet/dimension of this beloved game. Host Jen Shahade tastefully navigates each episode providing some of her own valuable insights while engaging with guests. I’m on board for the 169 hand journey!

swishywaschy👍👍👍I love this podcast! Always entertains me and I appreciate the variety of guests. What a unique idea.

I#URMOMAWESOMEVery cool idea for a poker podcast. I love it. Jen is a beautiful woman and her voice is so sultry. I could literally listen to her talk about anything. I’m not trying to be a perv, sorry. If you’re into poker definitely give it a listen.
-
ant-fryBrilliant content-vocal fry arrrrrrghThis a terrific podcast, with great content from The host and her all-star lineup of guests. Ms Shahade is a terrific interviewer, and the episodes are concisely edited so lots of content in ~40 minutes. My only knock is that Ms Shahade has a impressive vocal fry, and its hard to listen to sometimes.

jbhweinbergAdd Video LinksThis podcast is amazing and it is tough to name a better one. Only thing, would it be possible to add links for videos of the hands in the description? I think it would be cool to have an easy way to watch the hand before or after the podcast.

LeGrandPeleGotta catch 'em all.Fun for poker pros. Helpful for normal people trying to improve their play. I like it best when it goes off the rails and we learn about the guests, the host, and how their minds work.

BradleyBradleyThe Insights You Will Gain Are a GiftJennifer’s a pros pro and her interview skills are undeniable. Her discussion with Luckychewy (Andrew Lichtenberger) is a masterclass in asking follow-up questions that draw out pure gold for her audience. Cannot recommend enough.

CeltsharkAssuaging juvenile unit biasI got to play next to Jennifer in day 1a of the wsop main event this year. She was a pleasure to talk to and I learned a ton just by watching her play. This podcast has been informative and entertaining. Keep up the great work, and thanks for being so nice!

Murder, etcSmart show, smarter hostThis show is so much fun. Don’t skip it.
-
Mex HeadroomLittle bit poker, little bit lifeThe strategy discussions on each individual hand are high level enough newer players can follow it. The non-hand discussions give you more of a guide on mindsets while playing, which I find really useful. And great fun overall. Jen is the best!
-
Kristy ArnettYES!!!! YESSSSS!!!I LOVE this podcast. Jen is a WONDERFUL host and the idea of the Grid is soooo cool.
-
Keith CarangeloSo many great stories and strategy nuggetsThe Grid's main focus is great poker players talking about the interesting hands they've played. But through those stories a lot of great strategy content bubbles up to the surface. It's become one of the poker podcasts I can't wait to hear.

JasonOCR330Not your typical had breakdown podcastThis appears to be a poker hands breakdown podcast like many other podcasts out there. But host, Jennifer Shahde, takes each conversation far beyond the "I called when I should have raised" conventions of the genre. She brings her own prodigious curiosity and intellect to conversations with incredibly accomplished guests in order to tease out the deeper themes and philosophical implications that inform poker decisions. That sounds ponderous, but Shahde makes it feels effortless to the listener.

Ddk27Nice - 8-2 suited vs Ivey!Enjoyed all the podcasts so far and looking forward to more episodes. Jake Abdalla describing heads up with 8-2 suited versus Phil Ivey had me laughing. Great interview and conversations with all the guests so far Jen. As Jake said, “you miss all the shots you never take,” so don’t give up on getting Ivey!!

StoutPokerGreat PodcastThis is a must-listen for anyone interested in poker.
-
akqjt00Brilliant!Jen Shahade is one of the most well-liked personalities in two of the world's most popular games of skill, and her social network is full of some of the greatest minds in poker. Her guests so far in her 169-episode journey have all taken varied thoughtful perspectives on their chosen hands. Jen will certainly face some challenges as she navigates through The Grid, but there's no doubt she will find interesting storytellers and compelling analysis all the way through.
-
Dr Marc BOriginal concept, very well executedI haven’t enjoyed content from Jen this much since her OFC series on RIO. Intelligent and fun with interesting guests and fascinating anecdotes. Looking forward to the next 165 episodes!
-
@#$&%-+=1234Great New Poker Podcast.Clever idea, but more importantly the host does a great job interviewing her guests.
-
Ng74ImpressedI love the poker, but what really impressed me was Jen’s amazing job drawing out each story and the “inner dialogue” that we’ve never heard in such a way. Great series and I look forward to listening to each one!

Note Taker 420<3I love this podcast. What a novel idea. Interesting and informative.

PerpetualChessPodThis is gonna be greatOK I'll cop to being an FOJ (friend of Jenn), but everything she does is great and episode #1 with Lex V. was already highly enjoyable. Jenn is a pro behind the mic, she has come up with a great concept, and one figures to learn a lot about the thinking processes and lives of some top poker players. Subscribe and enjoy!
