Chris Harris and Neil Clifford are an absolute joy to listen to

Get over it. I don’t like him and I hope that means you don’t like me considering what you said. Winless since 21’. No mention of that? Hmm. Biased cry baby Brit’s who hate Max/Red Bull but didn’t moan when Merc was doing the same thing.

The last episode was even better than usual, which is saying something. And I agree, every petrolhead should read Alan Clark, and Richard Lietz is one of the best, and a good guy to boot. However, contra Adrian Newey, the car is ‘Vanishing Point’ is a Dodge!

This show should be called Cars and Camaraderie because that’s exactly what it is. Listening to it is like spending time listening to a conversation with good friends as they discuss things that are of interest to you. It makes a really nice weekly escape and I look forward to each new episode.

Hoping Manish will see this. When will the distribution deal close for Lucky! to be broadcast/streamed in the US? Also, a quick discussion topic suggestion - ultimate tire for each road condition (dry track, long distance road trip, weekend run, snowy mountain pass etc). Keep up the good work fellas.

Gents, you’ve hit a home run with the new format and topics. The easy banter between you is exactly as when my friends and I share a beverage after a day of wrenching on our race cars in the shop: friendly, slightly controversial, often pointless and totally important at the same time. Keep it up!

Who knows how small the Center section is in the Venn diagram showing overlap of automotive enthusiasts, intellectuals, and lovers of witty and well crafted repartée. If you’re that odd individual in that overlap, or even if just two of those three criteria apply to you, rush, don’t amble, to this podcast. It scratches a serious itch in these pandemic times, but I bet you I will be still listening to it once the vaccine is out and we can carry on with life as normal. From thoughtful and provocative dialogue on subjects like electrification, the limits of usability and supercars, two interviews with true giants in the field, this podcast showcases the presenters wide wide range. It’s a delight. Update now that Collecting Addicts is in full swing: What sort of person looks forward to listening on Sunday mornings (which is when I get through the podcast each week, before, after and occasionally just a little bit during church) to five middle-aged men go on about travel sweets for many minutes at a time? Me sort of person it turns out. Harris says “m’learned colleagues” as a joke but in fact that’s exactly what they are: learned in petrol-head topics, learned in language and raconteurage, and learned in being real men, full human beings open to all sorts of experience and emotion. For this Yank, it’s like flying from today’s America to Ireland from the east coast: a quick easy trip to a place inhabited by sane adults.

If you’re a fan of automotive astuteness, friendly F1 facts, tearjerking tastes of times gone by — this one is for you. Brilliant assemblage of absolute professionals from across the industry sharing ideas, opinions, and stories with each other. Like sitting around the table at the pub with your best mates talking cars. Now to fix the name, because “Collecting Addicts” ain’t great….

The new Idle Chat format is excellent!

This show, in whatever iteration it chooses, is great when they decide to record it. The new format of Chris and Co. going through newsy topics is also great. I hope they stick to it.

One of my favorite podcasts automotive or otherwise. Chris has such a talent for finding the most interesting stories. His interview style clearly puts his guests at ease and allows them to talk so openly and personally. Chris is such a genuine person and such a skillful journalist. Very glad to find he is doing podcasts again after taking a break.

Christ , Chris as a broadcaster and one that deals with digital media you would think your recording equipment and quality is up to par. It’s abysmal! Every time I agonizingly listen to your podcast I have to blast the volume to barely have it at a reasonable level. Sounds like I’m listening to a call on speaker. For the love of god please address this issue and or your equipment.

For me this is a dream come true!!! I’m an American and I have been Following Chris since he started on YouTube. Maybe it’s my British roots but I have always been a fanatic for British automotive culture. Listening to Chris geek out with some many automotive hero’s of mine has been amazing!!!

Whether it’s a wonderful 3 hours with Nicky Grist, memories and perspectives with Martin Brundle or a fascinating introduction to Richard Tuthill, this is always great output. Chris and Edward make an entertaining, expert team. Fantastic also to be able to put a voice to many of the motoring writers i grew up with. Thanks. One to look forward to.

Harris you are really on to something with episode 18 and 19. Been listening from the beginning and it’s been good but you have cracked it. Now it’s really smashing. Keep it up mate!

Joining Mr. Harris and friends (because they all seem to friends) is like sitting in a pup with a never-ending stream of brilliant raconteurs wandering in and out. You don’t even need to appreciate cars to enjoy the conversation.

Chris has always been a very forthright character, whether on YouTube while drifing a car, Drive on NBCSN with Spinelli and Farah, on the Smoking Tire podcast, or in this format, with old mates having a sit down and recalling old stories of the industries they've been in. I'm very pleased that the podcast doesn't cross over much with the site it's related to, and that the episodes are frequent enough to keep me checking back.

No one cares about the guests backgrounds- just get to discussing cars! So much time is spent on the boring guests with no interesting stories, just have Chris give his view on certain cars.

I love the content of Collecting Cars, and Chris Harris is obviously a national treasure, but for the love of all that is automotive, please get an audio producer on the scene ASAP. Different guests will have different volumes, which means that I’m constantly adjusting the volume depending on who’s talking. Other times everyone will gradually get quieter and quieter, leading me to turn the volume ever higher, only for the hosts and guests to suddenly laugh at a joke, resulting in permanent ear damage. Please get an audio producer.

Please get better mics!!! When the guys laugh the volume increases significantly. Hurts the ears. Thanks.

Wonderful show, but Chris Harris needs to sit closer to the mic.

Please fix the audio! As other reviewers have said, I have to turn volume up to hear Chris, only to have the guests blow my eardrums out when they speak. Otherwise though, great content!

Fun to listen to automotive journalists and experts but switched off the last episode due to terrible sound quality. Please get an audio engineer onboard to do the mixing. Moving away from the mic when you’re laughing doesn’t work, especially when you don’t move back to the mic afterward and therefore barely audible... sound matters, get professional help...

Loving the show but please fix the audio! I constantly have to adjust up to hear Chris only to nearly have my speakers and ears blown out. Please find a way to make all mics more uniform.

Long time fan of Chris Harris, but just now discovered this podcast through his IG post. Excellent content, as expected. I know Chris likes bikes as well and I wouldn’t complain if motorcycle guests made an appearance occasionally. 👍👍

I can’t describe this as anything but phenomenal. Great guests, funny, detailed... just petrol heads faffing about. However, please get someone to balance out the audio levels!

Can’t put up with the varying levels, people crashing the mic, people barely audible sometimes. So I gave up

Quickly one of the best car-related podcasts. Still need to work out some kinks on the audio though - ranges from inaudible to ear splitting.

Lads, EQ the episode. When you laugh it gets very out of range. Extremely unpleasant.

I’m a big Chris Harris fan and I’m giving this podcast four stars instead of three just because the content so far has been pretty exceptional, but the sound mixing and what they’re recording on leaves a lot to be desired. I think the most recent episode was slightly improved. One of the guest you could barely hear the guy and then when you all start laughing it’s ear splitting. I listened to these in the car and had to fiddle with the volume incessantly. Please invest in some proper gear and software because currently it just sounds as though you’ve laid an iPhone on a table and are hoping for the best. Cheers

Terrific podcast for car enthusiasts, with interesting guests who can get the point, and make you chuckle - listen to the Richard Porter episode, it’s chock full of car talk and wisecracks. Montego fans will be pleased - looking forward to future episodes, cheers!
