Ed K. in OhioIf you love the story, you will love this podcast-Amazing podcast. Knowledgeable guests; Matt is an excellent host with tremendous interviewing skills. I’ve been an amateur student of the Civil War for many years- yet I still learn fascinating details and nuances with each listen. My only regret is being a latecomer- but as a patron I have access to many hours of past programs to enjoy!

Builder25OutstandingKicking myself that I just found this. Great podcast that thinks of everything. If you’re a devoted student of the battle, you’ll love it. If you’re just getting started, you’ll love it. This podcast is time well spent.

JoshHoytChicagoWonderful show, with one caveatI found and listened to this podcast after listening to all of the episodes about Gettysburg on The Civil War Podcast. I am thrilled to find this show. The host is knowledgeable and it is really nice how he incorporates the professional guides. I also like that he has clear opinions - for example about the importance of the cumulative 12 hours of battle for control of Culp’s hill, and the need to lift this up for greater acclaim. This seems to be an excellent show and I am looking forward to listening to older episodes! There is one thing I found irksome, and that was the denigrating the story of the 20th Maine and Col Joshua Chamberlain at Little Round Top. It kind of sounded like insider expert snobbery, making fun of the folks who only know about the Battle through the movie, and the over romanticization of that battle. OK…, Respectfully I would suggest that if the movie is the ‘gateway drug’ then the attitude of the experts and guides might be: “We are so happy you found this story and we welcome the opportunity to show how much more there is….” Regardless, thank you for this work!

Bandits19Only about the Benjamins?AG used to be great but all they care about is milking every dime from their “pay to listen” customers which is a shame because it was a fantastic podcast. I canceled my patreon because it wasn’t worth even $5 to watch Matt babble about things and hear the same rehashed guests over and over again.

senor pantalones calienteMoneyI have enjoyed your podcasts. However, my listening will soon be ending. Putting your offerings behind a paywall has eliminated my continued support. It’s annoying enough to have to endure the advertising, but also demanding a monthly payment is too much. Please reconsider.

John Reynolds10More than a podcastI have been a listener to AG since the start and I can tell you that this podcast reaches much further than just the excellent content it produces. Matt and crew have done a great job in taking the charming and interesting parts of Gettysburg and creating a true community out its listeners. The podcast has created a buzz around the town and it is great to see. Great historical analysis and funny and entertaining personalities are tied into events, battle walks, and meet and greets. If you are interacting in learning more about Gettysburg and the Civil War it is a great pod to check out. Just be warned that you soon will become a Gettysnerd.

There is always great conversation and guides like Fennell and Siegel as well as Adelman and Creepy Uncle Timmy make the podcast funny and super informative. Matt is an awesome host and makes the show. A must listen for the Civil War community.

Cassell17Outstanding new delivery of Gettysburg historyThe Address Gettysburg podcast has renewed my love for the Battle of Gettysburg. The causal open delivery of programming and local news makes you feel you’re in the beloved town called Gettysburg. The humor and real conversations delivered consistently makes this my favorite history podcast. AG has created a unique community that meets for “Get Out of the Car” battlefield tours and you’re able to meet the people and voices that that you laugh and learn from on the battlefield. AG has a unique niche that brings Gettysnerds together. Thank you AG for the hard work that is put into the podcast: Matt, Eric, Veronica, Cam, 6Q Mike Lintz and to everyone that I’ve forgotten your names. A respectful ozerspin broaderson. Lol!!!

Carriec56On fire!I wasn’t a podcast person until I found AG. In the first of week listening I became a patron through Patreon. The whole crew makes you feel like you’re sitting at the table with them. The informal style allows Matt to ask questions just like we would ask them. No pompous attitudes from Ask A Guide series. Just a bunch of people learning together. Like a real conversation, sometimes it’s taken off topic, but never boring! Never feel alone in your love of all things ACW when you become a listener. Patreon feed is on fire! Support through patreon opens up a ton more info and interviews! Not to mention EVENTS in town!

Civil war KarenSomething for every Gettysburg fan!!I love this podcast for many reasons… First, there are a ton of episodes and they come out frequently so you never run out. Second, the topics range from detailed locations on the battlefield with either rangers or licensed battlefield guides, to interviews with the cast members from the movie Gettysburg, to Tim Smith’s Winter lecture series at the Farnsworth House talking about the history of the town itself, before and after the battle. All of it is fascinating and I love that is approached with knowledge, respect and appropriate humor. The episodes are long and I never get tired of listening. Well done Matt & Eric!

herodotushistoryWhat you’d expect from a graduate from NJ public schools...I say as one who went through mid-freshman to senior in Washington Township. Good hearted, but, basically, a moron. Good representation of slack jawed Yankees.
-

RichardSnyderAddressing GettysburgMatt Callery has created a podcast that has something for every level of Gettysburg enthusiast. His Ask A Guide episodes are created with informative guests who cover the history of the Battle of Gettysburg from a big picture angle to the small little unknown facts known only to historians of the July 1863 battle. His easy going , sometimes comedic demeanor puts guests and listeners at ease. He encourages listeners to submit questions about different aspects of the battle, the town, and the men who fought there. His Narrative episodes are high quality recordings that make the listener feel as though they are right there in 1863. (Looking forward to more of them!) He weaves history with written accounts left by the combatants and the townspeople to produce a wonderful story. Well worth listening to- you’ll be glad you did!

Bryan HikesThe Go-to podcast for all things Gettysburg. History with humor.Going to Gettysburg, live there, Civil War aficionado, or looking for something fun and thought-provoking? This podcast has it all. Matt, Eric, and Veronica bring humor and a contemporary twist to events from 158 years ago. The podcast is enjoyed by novice civil war buffs and expert historians alike. There’s something for everyone. Part radio show, part CSPAN, with equal parts irony and gentle sarcasm to round out the experience.
-
appstarsxThe Finest Podcast In TownI am so happy to have stumbled upon this podcast. To be honest, my fiancé was rather pushy about his love for Gettysburg. I figured I’d give this a go so I could match his enthusiasm about the place and maybe learn a thing or two, glad I did!
