This podcast is not the typical show that spends most of the time undertaking promotional introductions of new watches or constantly discussing the price and availability of hype watches. Allen spends time on the notions of collecting, as well as providing some good (and rare) insight into how watches work. Unfortunately, he also seems to feel the need to support his point of view with a great deal of profanity, particularly the “f word”. I find that this detracts from the presentation, as well as potentially limiting the audience.

It’s refreshing to listen to a high-level podcast that isn’t controlled by the watch brands.

Surprised and happy to hear Walt Odets on the podcast! My watch journey began in the late 90’s on Timezone so I’m familiar with his article’s and the TZ watch school. It was wonderful to hear you converse with Mr. Odets about his journey as a child to taking apart that famous Explorer, and even work outside of the horological space. Great content and a must listen for those who appreciate watches not simply as style but for what’s beyond the dial.

One of my favorite watch pods. At first, I was a little turned off by the subtle sometimes forthright political discussion but the great watch content kept me coming back. While I disagree with the hosts politics, his thoughts and opinions are well thought out and aren’t made with an agenda. I can definitely appreciate that. I always looks forward to new updates. James and Jason talked about you on TGN. Very cool! Love your thought process and can relate to you on so many levels. Very interesting and relaxing. Keep up the great work! However, wrist presence is all about size and flash. You can have a beautiful small watch on the wrist, but that’s not presence.

Certainly not for everyone but I do love the watch talk with meditations on life. Took me a few episodes to get into it.

I listened to an episode and couldn’t stop, love the deep and considered thinking about life, watches, and how it all connects. Allen is such a talented storyteller!
