I love this show and wanted to edit my review to state what I picture Jess and Russ look like since I can’t see them. I picture Jess looks like Laurie from the Partridge family and Russ looks like Lenny as in Lenny and Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley. I know this is before y’all‘s time, back in the 70s, but you can look them up. ** But I was wrong – – Jess is way prettier. I don’t let your gassiness bother you. 😀 Next, I’d like to mention that I am your handcuffed gal from messenger 😀 Lastly, Jess, I am from Central Virginia, not far from your home of “Baldymore” (I absolutely love how you pronounce, that is so cute). Jess does great research and writes and presents really good cases. And then Russ doesn’t even listen. He’s just dying to constantly interrupt and make jokes or make some juvenile comment over and over. He says we shouldn’t take him seriously but he doesn’t take the crimes or victims seriously at all. It gets old.

Absolutely love this podcast! The banter between the two is hilarious and Russ’ positive outlook on life after his accident is inspiring! VOTE FOR RUSS

I’ve been listening to WOC since the very start and I’ve always absolutely loved it! Love the banter, love when Jess gets annoyed with Russ and tells him to take it down a notch, love the comedic relief that Russ provides with such heavy topics. Everyone needs to give a listen and give Russ a chance to grow on you (like mold). Jess and Russ - please never stop podcasting, I swear it’s your calling! You guys are the perfect duo. On another note, I hope that everything goes well with Lucy! My dogs are my everything and when my boy had to get his eye removed I was devastated and thought I had failed him. My little pirate is not 3months post-op and is thriving. No more pain from his glaucoma and he’s back to his old self again. So just here to say, even if she has to be a pirate, she’ll still have a wonderful life with y’all and she will adjust! Stay fit. Stay alive. Peace✌🏼

(I downloaded the apple podcast app just to leave this review.) I was introduced to WoC while backpacking with friends in Patagonia, South America, at the end of 2024. We listened to at least 10 straight hours of y’all (yeah, I live in Wyoming) while driving from Chile to Argentina, and I was hooked. I made it my New Year’s resolution to binge the entire pod. *3 months later* I done did it!! I love this podcast BUT I’m about 20 mins in to a show and they still haven’t started the story…. Like 20mins of my life lost FORREAL! I found Wife of Crime in Spring of 2020. Every afternoon, I would take a break to #stayfitstayalive by going for a 3-5 mile walk and Jess and Russ came with me. They are the podcast that got me into podcasts. The banter, Russ’s lack of a filter, and Jess’s well researched tales gave me something to look forward to everyday. I didn’t feel like I was walking alone but I’m sure I looked ridiculous laughing out loud or telling Russ to shut up while walking alone on the trail. You guys are the only podcast where I feel like I’m listening to my friends. I still look forward to new content even 5 years later. Keep up the good work! Cheers!

I have been listening to true crime podcasts while walking for a little over a year. I stumbled upon wife of crime a few weeks ago. They are now my new go to podcast to listen to. I see people seeing they don’t like Russ. Honestly he makes me laugh. People probably think I’m crazy as I’m walking around laughing at nothing. But I truly love both Jess & Russ and I’m so glad I found them. I’ll have a lot to listen to while walking.

Hi Jess & Russ I was listening to your recent podcast during lunch. Jess I absolutely loved that you took me back to those days of making mixed tapes, flip phones, etc. when you mentioned the Song, “Too Close” by NEXT I said to myself, “I love that song!” When Russ said what the song was about… I spit my drink out all over our lunch table where my other coworkers were eating. After cleaning up the mess and apologizing to those at the table I had to google the song. I had NO idea the song was about that. I never really paid attention to the lyrics but loved the beat of the song. Thanks for schooling me. 🤣

I don’t know what happened to my first review, but just now that it originally sounded a lot better than this one. Firstly love you guys. Everything about it is well done, well produced, well researched, and the banter and the comedy back-and-forth reminds me of my own relationship with my husband whom; I’ve also been with for the last 13 years. He’s also mold like Russ, so whenever I listen to you guys, it just feels like I’m with my husband. I started your podcast from recent episodes and am making my way backwards. There is one thing I want to point out though; in the Girly Chew episode, you guys referred to someone’s character as Linus from Peanuts because they were smelly. False! It’s Pigpen and I will hear no Linus slander here. Just keep up everything you’re doing.

I have been listening to true crime podcasts for years, but I only discovered Wife of Crime a few months ago. Jess is fantastic in telling the true crime stories. I thought Russ and his banter with Jess was funny when I first started listening, but now after “getting to know them” better from several episodes, I think it’s hilarious. I find myself literally laughing out loud at points in the podcast - think about how hard that is to make someone laugh *out loud* when they’re just by themselves listening to a podcast. I listened to the latest SSTN and went back to find the Asha Degree episode. I just paused that one midway to write this review because Russ had me cracking up with his comments about talking to his union rep for a mic stand and his comments about pettiness with 50 Cent. You guys are amazing, thanks for doing this podcast!!

First of all, #FDave. Now that that’s out of the way… The first time I listened to the pod and heard Russ’s voice I thought Jess was married to method man. Russ has no filter and says what we’re all thinking, but don’t say out loud. Jess is a pro at researching and telling true crime stories while respecting the victims and their families. She’s good at everything she does including having finger toes. I just love her. They have the best banter and I love how genuinely Jess laughs at all the dumb stuff Russ says. You guys are the best and I love listening to you. Also, my husband is 11 years older than me and I wasn’t really at the right age to know all the great stuff about Mike Tyson’s fighting days, so anyway, when we started dating the first thing he showed me about Mike Tyson was the “spinal” interview, and I love that you’ve incorporated that into the pod. Russ was very hard to take in the beginning, more like mildew than mold, but then it clicked and like him I am also from da Bronx and appreciate what he brings to the table. Ok, so I’ve never ever left a review for a podcast but I started listening a few weeks ago and I’m bingeing them all now. When I heard you mention your sweet dogs name “biggie” I almost died. We had a kitty named biggie. He was white with orange tips and crystal blue eyes. He ran away and it broke our hearts, but biggies sister, Smokey, had a kitten that looked just like biggie, so we named him little big! A few weeks ago Russ’ Roe v. Wade confusion was mentioned again and I laughed so hard that I cried. When I first started listening to this I thought Russ was annoying (mainly bc he reminds me of my husband) and I felt bad for Jess. But the more I listen he has become my favorite part of the show. To this day I still say "shoutout to the Mormons with swag" from the Jodi arias episode. Also, please don't leave the injury jokes in 2024 because they are my absolute favorite! 💗

I absolutely love this podcast, I’ve been binging it for the past month. Russ is kind of annoying not gonna lie, I don’t mean that in a bad way but I often find myself raising my voice at him. Like dude let the woman talk. Recently listened to the episode about Marilyn Monroe, Russ mentions how people need to get more creative with reviews. So I thought I’d share how I imagined Jess. I thought she was a frail women with a purple and pink pixie cut. The kind of person that wears tights under shirts and a neon choker at all times, with an obnoxiously large neon green septum piercing. I imagined you as any basic wannabe emo girl in middle school. I have no clue why,I now know I was very wrong. Sorry Jess you are a very beautiful woman.

I am upset and sad because i’ve officially ran out of episodes lol!!! This podcast has turned me into a true crime girly. I don’t even listen to music anymore, just Wife of Crime lol and my boyfriend hated it at first but he’s coming around. You guys are the perfect duo and I’m so glad I found this podcast. Finally decided to write a review after like 4 years of listening. On the topic of what people imagine Russ looking like, for some reason I always imagined him with jet black slicked back hair, sunglasses and a leather jacket hence the aka. Don’t ask, I have no idea.😭Jess is stunning as I expected. Russ is a very lucky guy and you two complement each-other very well. Love you guys and thanks for all the good laughs you’ve given me. ❤️

I’ve listened to Jess & Russ for years and written this review in my head many times, hoping to score the honor of Review of the Week. So here it goes: Through two pregnancies and the sleepless nights following, a move to a new state, cross-country work flights and more, Wife of Crime has been my companion on road trips, commutes and boring work days, and they’re the only true crime podcast I can get my husband to listen to. He can ‘cowoberrate’ that. Although Russ is the intended comedian, Jess also makes me laugh nonstop with her side bars and commentary on Russ’ behavior. Russ is the kind of person I want on my CoD team. These two are the most relatable and goofy pair and it’s hard to believe you’re hearing about murder half the time when they’re on. The best true crime pod out there, bar none. No notes.

Man, these two are the perfect duo. I have now turned my sister onto the pod and the first text I got was Rovie Wade 🤣. Russ continually has me rolling and Jess is the perfect balance for me to get back in control of my laughter especially when I’m at work. Binged and now re-listening, I’m such a corn.

I found you guys a few weeks ago and I lost count of how many episodes I’ve listened to. I was listening to an episode yesterday that Russ was talking about the talkative neighbor and mentioned White Castle and now I want White Castle! I live in Oklahoma now and the closest one is in Missouri like 6-8 hours away. And buying them in the store is not the same! I love the stories that make Russ gasp! And I’m with Russ even though I’ve listened to the stories I don’t remember them half the time. And I’ve read some of these other reviews and everyone is saying “Russ the profiler” and we all know by now it’s “Russ the profila”.

I took a break to let the episodes buildup. I’m so glad I’m back to listening! I work from home and can laugh as loudly as I like. Today Russ was telling us why people assume he is unattractive because good looking people aren’t usually as funny as he is. I started laughing so hard and didn’t realize that the Amazon guy was on the porch. He ended up knocking and asking if I was ok. I guess my laugh sounds like terror? So thanks to the concerned Amazon guy and thanks to Russ and Jess for being amazing! PS: I told the Amazon guy to give you a listen.

Great pick, great execution, but the chemistry between Jess and Russ sets this podcast above and beyond others. The contrast between the subject matter and their obvious love and affection (w/plenty of teasing thrown in, too) is addicting.

Omg someone thought Russ was dumb for not knowing the Philippines were colonized by the Spanish- they’ve missed all the previous dumb red flags of stupidity. I chuckled so loud I’m pretty sure people think I’ve lost it, especially when they rehashed “Roevy” Wade. Hey, Russ might not know history, but he’s the best profiler! I’m glad Jess is here with all the crime deets and facts so we have the show, and then Russ is the profiler. It’s the best dynamic duo- can’t have one without the other! Not corns AT ALL. Overall great podcast. Started this podcast mid way through the summer and have since binged every free episode available. Love russ’s off the wall comments that everyone thinks but is too afraid to say publicly. Jess’s storytelling is amazing and her ability to not strangle russ at every second is admirable. This podcast was truly my number one podcast until your guys Deadpool comments were made. Now i’m no longer rolling with you (get it lol). Just kidding, love you guys. Anyways, I’m an avid crime podcast listener and i’ve been binging Wife of Crime since I found it two weeks ago. At first I didn’t wanna cheat on my original crime couple podcast, but you guys are TOO hilarious! I also live in New York City & I feel like the crackheads think I’m one of them just laughing by myself walking alone in the streets. At first I thought Russ was fat. I just binged every episode until I was caught up completely and now I just want more!!! I love the banter showing you’re actual people with a personality which you don’t get in some “matter of fact” podcasts. At first I guess you can see where some people wouldn’t like it but if you don’t go listen to another one with just one person stating facts… Russ don’t need a muzzle lol and I love how you guys are just yourselves even though haters tell you to change. As a fellow Baltimorean like Jess, I’m here for the crime, but Russ? He grows on you like mold with that unfiltered mouth! He says whatever wild thought pops into his head, and you can almost hear Jess rolling her eyes every time he throws out another off-the-wall 'theory.' Whether he’s convinced the suspect grabbed a sandwich post-murder or asking the most random questions, his no-filter commentary is half the fun. I watched the doc on Netflix “Into the Fire” & within minutes I knew who did it. My boyfriend was like “how do you know this” & I said “I went to Russ University baby! I’m a profiler!” & yes, I absolutely took his phone & gave you guys five stars!! I love you guys, please keep being you, in a world everyone is scared to voice their opinions. Jess, I know this was about Russ, but I love you just as much..especially your laugh!

For the love of Christ, get into the story. No one wants to hear Russ (or the WOC) ramble for 10-15 minutes before getting into the topic. I didn’t read other reviews, but I’m certain you’ve received that feedback before. Russ is tolerable during the story, but he’s insufferable outside of that. Again, get into the story much, much sooner.
