As a historian, this is irresponsible … just get someone who actually knows the history of tech.. his narrative is half myth half nonsense that perpetuates right wing ways of understanding history and our current predicament. Try fact checking!

I'm east coast but truly believe Calif knows better. Look on the back of those loan docs at the small print; calif always has rules to help the little guy. The people in the middle are gone! The banking system as it's too big to fail is an example where THAT idea that the minions never 'cashed out' YET paid for it. Trickle-down only works when there is transparency otherwise the offshore banks get bigger since the wealthy must hide their money so they avoid taxes therefore little left to trickledown. I became homeless recently, I've been doing loads of research enough to know Deutchebank NEVER wanted to help anyone after the people bailed them out! 4.1 BILLION earmarked to help evaporates. Deutchebank paid fines then back to business-as-usual when they threw this senior on the street after 20 years in my Miami Beach home I love. I wrote the bank. They don't care. I wrote the White House~nothing. I hate our society and in my own way making a diff to speak loudly of the grift of DC politicians.

Saying effective altruism is somehow so problematic, without evidence except that the vibe is bad among some people who talk about the theory? I’ve got better things to do with my time than listening to people who are against examining the world.

Brace, it’s getting worse and worse. You invite a guest who has written an article or a book and yet you are the foremost authority. Droning on and on, never asking questions. At this point you talk about 70% if the time. How about this idea, ask your guest a question or let them summarize their work and while they are talking… listen to them…. And find opportunities to say something funny, which is your strength. Yes you as an expert not good, you slipping in funny comments when someone who is an expert is trying to be series, podcast gold. Also, I’m a fan of how you choke everytime you attempt a character. I’m not being sarcastic I think it’s pretty funny that you bail every single time. What happens? Do you get scared? Are you afraid of commitment… to characters. Hahahaha (Two stars were just to get attention)

Jumpin Jeezus on a cracker!! I found two, count ‘em, two “lefties” that are not completely sanctimonious & insufferable.!! Not only that, but these two are funny, thoughtful and got the right chemistry to keep it moving. Not my typical cup, and as far as any kind of truth goes, They are , of course, still objectively & provably misinformed about some if their info, but their personalities and souls make this forgivable. Cant believe this is the same guy from my old MRR’s w/ Last Punk Rocker columns…

I was premium subscriber in the beginning when they were covering the Epstein case. I had to unsubscribe due to the disappointing amount of toxic masculinity from this ostensibly left wing podcast. I tried to give them another chance recently and it seems they have not changed.

This was a fantastic podcast about conspiracies once, but I checked out when they started doing documentary episodes on punk bands. Brace and Liz are smart and have extremely interesting things to say, but not enough to justify listening to all the filler in between, and the filler has come to predominate. Sad!

This was my introductory episode to this podcast and was very impressed with it. Subscribed!

I love the show, but I’m not really sure if they’re like Party for Socialism and Liberation socialists (I am) or Bernie Sanders/AOC socialists.

It makes it way harder to introduce people to these ideas without sounding untrustworthy Final edit: I’m still blown away and mortified that Brace read this and responded to it. I’ve never known those of his background and presumably faith to interact with normal people.

I think the podcast craze is showing us there’s only so many hours two people can talk before they run out of things to say but Patreon be damned. Bad poems? Do you have zero respect for your audience???

I used to listen to this show. I want to support them, but if i give $5 a month to my favorite 20 podcasts I can’t make rent. $1 I can do. But then I don’t get access to shows. Sorry I’m super poor. I stole golf clubs when I was 18 and did 2 years in a super max. Life’s really tough, hope the $95k a month makes your life’s easier. It was 60k a month when I couldn’t justify it last time and just deleted the pod from my library. What’s the point of subscribing, if you get 1/2 of shows? Oh cool episode 2-3 is unlocked? What’s it about? Who knows? The first episode is beyond a rich wall. I hope for the best for you. 95,000 a month is great. Me, personally, I can’t spare $5 a month for someone who makes half a mil a year. Tbf I listen and have donated to no agenda and they complained about only having a minimum of $1850 per episode donation a week or two ago. Do that math. I want to support you. I love your content, but I can’t support everyone. And honestly I’d rather be the reason a small pod can get a new mic, than a massive pod gets a new house.
