    Not serious people
They have a guy that just began watching Succession recently & he is clueless & slow. The girl tries to control the show & the other guy is ok. They talk about episodes & I’m pulling my hair because they get a lot of things wrong & do not bother to correct themselves.

    Thank you!
Guys… I have been having withdrawals since the ending of Succession. Started again from season 1 one episode at a time and listening to your rewatch recaps. Helping me so much to appreciate and understand this amazing (the best ever) show! Thanks for the great job of explaining and deep diving, very grateful for the work you out into this podcast! Love from Kenya! Barbara

    Extremely uneven quality
I direct everyone to the Severance recap for Amanda’s insights, which not only employ her professional expertise, they’re also insightful in their own right. And she seems to make her collaborators better on that pod. That said, some commentators are insufferable - I’m sorry Jess. And the ad choice feels hostile, like they’re trying to force you to pay for ad-free by making anyone who doesn’t extremely uncomfortable- they are literally loud and in French.

    They Weren’t Really Watching
You guys missed almost all the major themes in Succession, and definitely do not understand the ending. Concepts that completely evaded you: -Shakespeare & Tragedy -Feminism & and Any Examination of Siobhan’s Character Whatsoever (Her Tragedy) -Kendall’s Obnoxious Personality and How Insufferable He Becomes With Power -The Truth About Corporate America and Tom’s Aspirational Conformity -Why GoJo Wins Maybe you guys should stick to Shonda Rimes shows if you want cheesy gratuitous action. You obviously prefer not to challenge your brains. Worst recap show ever.

    Thank you
Loved the discussion with Rob about the finale of succession. Even though Rob was discontented with it (and I am more in Josh’s camp), Rob’s reasoning was sound and made me think about it from an entirely new angle. To me the series was a masterpiece and I’ll miss everything about it, including your discussions of it. Assuming it’s good, I hope you both will watch and review the new Justified movie coming out in July.

Rob Didn’t Watch The Same Show I Did
Nothing worse than someone who needs to be spoon fed a show. This show assumes a certain amount of intelligence from its audience. Can’t listen to this anymore. This show deserves better than your pod review.

    Five Stars
For the Finale recap of Succession. Each host's take makes sense and ties into season one.

    A great P to the O-D
As Succession draws to a close, I’m also sad about the pending loss of the many hours of podcast entertainment. There are lots of excellent Succession pods out there, and this one won me over with its sheer enthusiasm and commitment to reveling in the glory and gruesomeness of the Roy family saga. I appreciate all the time they take to produce multiple episodes of the pod per week - they watch and rewatch the show, go out and research more about Succession, review listener feedback, and come back with deeper takes. Thanks to Josh, Grace, Jess, Rob, Emily, Amanda and everyone involved. (And yes, someone should do something about about the sometimes malfunctioning ads, but ya know, one option is Patreon.)

    Too many “Likes”
Great show! I love the commentary of the hosts. I do become distracted with the amount of “likes” the hosts use as filler language. I find myself repeating the last thing the hosts say without the likes. Again, great commentary on a great show.

    Silly and snarky
These hosts are naive to think that only one political party is corrupt and that the mainstream media is fair and balanced. Josh can be excellent but sometimes seems high. Grace can’t complete a thought, and Jess is emotional and giggles all through every podcast. I’ve enjoyed it for a long time, but PSR is becoming harder and harder to listen to.

Dr Amanda and Grace are the best!
I look forward every week to their nuanced insight, and deep knowledge of the show. Proof you can love characters and still provide critical takes. Appreciate the sociopolitical lens especially-this show cannot be viewed in a vacuum!

Great show hut following every other
Every single post show pod cast starts with plays on quotes . I used to like it but now that all the pods do the exact same thing it’s getting old. Great pod besides that

    P to the O D
Great set of podcasts to get me through the long week to the next episode. Josh’s intro songs are an instant classic and should be streamable.

    FYI
Hey kids- maybe you haven’t figured it out yet. Season 4 - each episode is 1 day. The whole season takes place in 10 days.

    Please vet your commercials
Your pod is great. We don’t need to hear the same commercial 4 times in a row!! Thank you

    Insightful and fun
Great hosts. They get the details right and have interesting ideas on the characters’ motivations.

Great addition to the final season!
Joined the crew on the daily binge and enjoyed the coverage, excited to see their coverage of the final season.

    Her high pitched screech
Is so annoying. She is the poster child for reasons to avoid female podcasters

    Loving The Dailies!
Happy Birthday, Josh! This daily podcast has really enhanced my rewatch. So funny, great insight.

    Great podcast!
I just discovered Succession and I love the host's discussions about the show. Sometimes their recaps and opinions point out a small nuance I missed while watching. Entertaining and thoughtful. I don't really get why everyone is complaining about the interrupting and the "likes" - these people speak just like all other TV podcasters do.
  • loulouO9
    Not much to ‘like’
As other reviews stated, the use of the word “like” is really annoying and just too much. Even if I could get through that, the interruptions and talking over each other is just enough to have to skip this one. It isn’t so much a recap podcast as an opinion about what they think is happening.
  • Critique!
    Same ole
I find the Series engaging. I listened to the podcast following the episode. Started nicely with interesting group and organizational dynamics observations. Soon fell into the same ole mis understood woman and over aggressive white males with male organ issues. I think the host is the one with the issues.
  • karine tangerine
    Fun
So glad to hear a lively and not overly serious discussion about my favorite show…but please, all hosts: stop saying “like” every other word.
  • frrreshies
    disLIKE
As many have said, too much ‘like.’ There are many Succession podcasts out there to help dissect, to speculate, to analyze this brilliant show. This is not one of them.
  • AllAboutAdams
    Not really a “recap” show
I was hoping this would recap the show scene by scene, in order and discuss what happened, then give opinion. This is all opinion. I like this, I like that. I watched an episode, listened and. I could barely tell they were talking about the episode.
  • Sometime Listener
It is, like, too much like
Constantly saying “like” completely diluted any meaningful content in their comments and rendered them quickly unlistenable.
  • Oryp23
    Like, how many times?
Listened to the first 8 minutes of Succession season 3, episode 1 recap. I had to stop. The word “like” was used about 100 times. Really tough to listen to.
  • oxfordshll
    Enjoyable
This is one of the more enjoyable groups. Their discussion was interesting, and insightful, and fun. Big, no,huge bonus: no forced/fake laughter. THANK-YOU!
  • qrstboom56
    Please
Stop saying “like” so much. You’re drowning me in your filler word.
  • abcmouse09875
    Like
If I like had like 50 dollars for like every time he says like, like I could have like more money than the like entire Roy family.

    Love the podcast
Love the show and the podcast is great. Maybe expand it because there’s just so much good stuff to cover? Anyway, love the podcast and ready for another season.
  • Cbodine100
    Please stop interrupting!
This podcast can be great, but the constant interrupting of one another can make it unlistenable. Also, please no more Cousin Ben.
  • drjay012170
    Poor job
Aside of your constant inside chatter and the first 5 minutes being virtually meaningless, your show does not have uninteresting insights. Your constantly late however with episodes and if your going to remain relevant in this business your pod casts need to be out the next morning. This is what makes you essentially irrelevant.

Bad takes, Lacking depth and preparation
First off, I want to say I am genuinely a big fan of Josh’s work (I’m much less familiar with Emily’s)- For years Josh has shown himself to be a fun and super insightful commentator / analyst of shows like Mr. Robot, The Leftovers, GOT, Lost and of course Survivor. He has a great energy and enthusiasm that is infectious - and when he’s properly prepared he’s an absolute 5-Star Top Level podcaster / writer. But on Succession he just seems unprepared and to not have spent much time thinking on it- the result is relatively shallow and often times lackadaisically speculative- it’s off-putting and I end up having to turn the podcast off midway- it’s just not up to the level I know he can deliver. The episode with Dominick from Survivor was just - I’m sorry to say it - embarrassing. Luckily Josh was able to redirect Dom’s bad takes (ie. Shiv being tested / set up yet again at the Logan dinner) but honestly Josh’s takes on this pod have often not been that different from that. Sorry to focus just on Josh here - but I think Succession is a great show and I wish it got the full Wigler treatment. It just seems like it’s on the way way way back burner for him and maybe he’s spread thin. (He’s said as much) I want post show recaps (RHAP) to always be considered some of the best programming out there... but this isn’t it unfortunately.

    Best "Succession" recap podcast
Like many fans of "Succession" I am blown away by consistent firing on all cylinders....writing...acting...filming..production polish...quality of the show, and accordingly I seek out & enjoy conversations with others who feel similarly. I have searched for & subscribed to several podcasts about the show, and have found Emily & Josh's commentary, banter, insights to bean extension of my enjoying the show itself. If you are "Succession" obsessive, and are only going to listen to one recap pod.....go with this one Great conversation about a remarkable show. Addendum: Everything I wrote above is absolutely accurate, for the first ~5 podcasts that correspond to the first 5 episodes of Season 2 Since then the quality of this podcast has fallen off a cliff So much so that I can't recommend it any longer. I'm skipping the last one that will recap t he finale An energetic conversation about the show has morphed into what appears to be a chore for the hosts at this point. I'll leave it at that Toodle Pip....I'm out

    Witty, Fresh, In-Depth
I listen to a lot of Succession podcasts but by far this is my fave. The witty and cute back and forth between husband and wife pairs perfectly with discussion surrounding a show full of characters with pretty messy family lives. They do a good job of flossing over the obvious of the show and pick up on the subtle nuances within each episode to break down what goes on in this Succession loving mind. Great job!!!!
  • EJ_Rice
    Analysis lacks insight
The hosts seem like lovely people but unfortunately they’re not very observant (they frequently miss important details from the episodes) and they don’t offer any interesting or plausible insight. I highly recommend the Vanity Fair recap, which is hosted by actual TV critics who notice nuance.

    Best Succession recap show around
I’ve listened to a few different Succession recap shows but Josh and Emily’s is my favorite’s by far! Love their fun, easy dynamic and their super sharp, hilarious insights. They find all the best moments, beats and lines to dissect in every episode. As a bonus, Josh’s impressions are SO eerily and entertainingly on-the-dot for Greg and Tom - amazing. So great to have this companion podcast for what’s really one of the best, unique shows out there right now. Keep up the great work guys!!!!!

Better than awkward hug from Cousin Greg!
Josh and Emily’s recaps are better than an awkward hug from Cousin Greg! So much fun I could listen to them talk TV all day long!
