    A fun listen
It's a great podcast that covers the day-to-day details of shooting wildlife and doesn’t just talk about expensive gear and trips. Listen to learn or just to absorb some enthusiasm.

    Great podcast
Thanks Ray for providing a great photography podcast dedicated to Birds and Wildlife. I have learned so many valuable tips from the podcast when I get in the field many of the subjects talked about in the podcast come to mind. This inspired me to think out of the box and change things up. Improving my photography skills vastly. Thank you Ray for sharing not only your experience and knowledge but that of your guests. Keep up the great work!!

    Ray is a natural interviewer
I enjoy this podcast and often hold on to new episodes for long drives or long flights so I have something to look forward to. Ray has an ease to his interviews. I enjoy his guest interviews as they are interesting and flow well. As a fellow bird photographer the topics are of course my fav and I’ve leaned a lot and feel a sense of comradery when listening to this podcast.

    More than just technical talk
I’ve enjoyed listening to all of Ray’s podcasts. The podcast quality is extremely good. All of his interview questions are unique and not repetitive like in other podcasts. It doesn’t matter what camera brand you use because this podcast focuses on technique, style, and getting to know the photographer and how he/she photographs the subject.

    Insightful
Thanks Ray for sharing these podcasts with us. I truly love listening to other photographers backstories and learning what drives their passion to create art that truly represents them. I also love that you keep the conversation real, honest and human so we can relate to issues we may have encountered or give us those aha moments that we may have in the field.

    Disappointed
Ray, if you are so eager to do conservation work why don’t you stop bringing people to the bird nesting sites first?! Think about how many people you are introducing to these sites and how many more friends they are bringing with them after your workshop, without your supervision. Take a moment to think about all that going off trail you do in the forests, to find warblers to make your clients happy and at the same time, creating trails where there weren’t any before. By doing so, you are constantly contributing to the problem. Instead of looking for a conservation cause to donate your time and photography how about not creating a problem at the first place?! The less disturbance at the nesting sites the better for the wildlife, don’t you think? If you want to do good for birds stop using electronic calls, stop organizing workshops at the nesting sites of endangered species like Cerulean Warbler, Black Skimmer, Burrowing Owl or even Common Loon. The less people the less disturbance to those sites. Most likely you are careful and all, but those people that you brought in on your workshops not only will be back but they will bring more friends with them. Putting more stress on birds and destroying the habitat even more! Now we are learning that you are also using electronic calls during the breeding season. Seriously?! To me it looks like that you are looking for conservancy work only to promote your business even more. Not cool!

    Unethical photographer
I just learnt from another podcast that Ray Hennessy, the host of this podcast, is baiting birds to earn money during his songbird workshops that he runs each Spring, the nesting season, in National Parks!! What a shame as I've been following his work for many years. I should have known better as it was hard for me to get any good shots of warbelrs. Now I know how he does it! I cannot believe that people are willing to pay money for such unethical behavior! Unbelievable!

    Fooling his audience
For years Ray Hennessy built his audience on a premise to be "different" by strongly pushing his style of shooting wide aka "small in hte frame" and often backlit. If you listen to this podcast he strongly believes in this style and it seems that he picks his guest on the same premise. So, why in the world would he submit a close up, front lit, photograph for the 2021 BPOTY contest?!? If one spends so much time to convince others to be different why would he chose this particular photograph to submit? The image I refer to is the image he placed a 2nd place in the 2021 Bird Photograph of the Year. Isn’t it pathetic that he constantly preaches to shoot wide/small in the frame but he submits a mediocre close up shot of Common Loons? In my opinion, he lost his full integrity and premise of this podcast! Too all his followers, please open your eyes! You are being fooled and simply used! He cares about one thing, to make money out of you! He tells us one thing but does the opposite! Fool me ones... I jsut feel sorry for the people he is menotring. The "other" Ray had a good feeling to bail on Hennessy. He does much better without Hennessy's "mentoriship". Just take a look at his IG account how much he grew when he left this podcast. Open your eyes people!

    Fantastic and informative
I can’t say how much this podcast helps me with my own wildlife photography. It’s so informative and the introduction to other more accomplished photographers is really valuable. The fairly informal way the interview is conducted feels like a natural conversation making it approachable and welcoming. An incredible resource. Ray’s video series is just as good, he’s on top of his game behind the camera as well as with his podcast series.

    Excellent since day one!
I’ve enjoyed Ray Hennessy’s content ever since the Wildlife Inspired YouTube channel. Which is still great and content taken over by Scott Keys. I’ve almost listened to every podcast and will likely start repeating them once I do finish. Excellent 5+ star material always!!

    Incredible Informative and Inspiring
This podcast is all about pushing your creativity and your idea of what it means to create an image. I’ve learned more in these podcasts listening to Ray squared talk with ultra talented and knowledgeable guests then reading countless wildlife photography books. Real conversations. Love it.
Keep it coming. Love learning how others get their images and the real efforts that go into the process. Nice to finally here more about research, motivations, passion and the stories behind the images rather than concentrate on all the technical aspects.

    Great podcast for bird photographers!
I always enjoy this podcast. As a bird photographer, it’s nice when people are speaking your language! I usually don’t care for the intro chit-chat on podcasts, but I look forward to this one. I like hearing what they are trying to shoot and what is frustrating them (I can relate)! The guests are always great, too! Thanks for doing this, guys!

    One of the Best
It's great to hear both Rays perspectives. I'm a big fan of both and have long considered Ray H to be one of the best in the country. This free content is well worth the listen. Keep up the good work.

Informative presentation done in a casual atmosphere
I thoroughly enjoy the interviews that are discussed in an informal and enjoyable way. From a non photographer’s perspective, I don’t feel like the subject matter is beyond my understanding. Keep them coming.
  • SMHphotos5768
    Informative and fun
I enjoy the Q&A with various wildlife photographers. It’s short enough that I don’t get bored and I like learning about others creative process or even some technical stuff. The banter between the two Ray’s keeps it light and fun.

    Fun and interesting
Great conversations about the ups and downs of wildlife photography with a refreshing focus on photography, not gear.
  • ludebug
    Overedited “bro” like podcast
Unless you are shooting silhouettes, according to the hosts, you are a boring photographer. They try to push their “creativity”so much that anything but silhouette shots are not recognized. It looks like they are using podcast platform to simply gain more Instagram followers and sell their expensive workshops. Also, they try to push their guests to recognize them as they are being influenced by the host’s photography. The latest episode #006 is a great example of it, when guest is pushed to mention their YouTube/Facebook channel. They act like they are pioneers of the wildlife “silhouette” photography, even though it was so overdone in the past, even in the film era. What a waste of time and bandwidth!
  • Sjgplays
    Always interesting and fun.
I enjoy listening to photographers talk about how they go about the creative process, what their next adventure is, and the realities of being a wildlife photographer. Thanks Ray and Ray!
