I’ve been listening to this podcast for several months and it has become one of my favorites. Jai offers fresh and unique perspectives about business and entrepreneurship that are relatable and tips and trainings that are attainable. 10/10 recommend for creative entrepreneurs for sure!

Every single week these episodes drop I quite literally stop what I’m doing and listen. I became an avid MYB listener in 2021 and started from the very beginning. I think I binged the first 100 episodes in a month. Through this podcast, Jai has taught me how to expand my network and create unrealistic goals to push myself further along in my career. I’ve implimented so many strategies that have changed my business (and my life). It’s extremely refreshing to find someone so willing to not only share their successes but also open up about their failures and how those challenges were lessons learned and opened doors for future success. I listen to Jai’s podcast at least once a week, sometimes more. I love to have it playing while I’m marching away on the stair master at the gym, and I will also listen to an episode with a notepad in front of me and pen in my hand. This podcast is beyond good, beyond great! Listening to this podcast is helping me get past imposter syndrome and have confidence to launch my business in ways I never thought worthy of doing. I am so often inspired by the stories and ideas that Jai discusses that I have to journal my own creativity so I can make a plan for it. I have tried listening to many other business podcasts (especially photography, as that’s my niche), but Jai’s is the only one I find that doesn’t rinse and repeat. The Make Your Break Podcast is truly original! AND it offers SO MUCH free audio help to creatives like me! This podcast has been a staple for catapulting my business to where it is today. While I’m still working towards big goals like going full time and scaling this to something more than I can even fathom at this stage, I truly would not be as far as I am without Jai’s guidance. It’s like having my very own tough love business coach in my ear every week encouraging me to take big leaps and just go for it. I love this podcast. Last year was the first year I worked 100% for myself as a creative producer for artists. This year, I am all in and looking to grow my business and keep my good reputation. When I listen to Jai’s episodes especially the ones for beginner entrepreneurs, I leave feeling like 1. I can actually do this, and 2. I have a mindset of being great.

So I started listening to Jai about a year ago and I was about 3 years into trying to run an incredibly unsuccessful photography business! The big awful imposter syndrome is definitely something I have dealt with. I have always been worried that once people realize that I’m not actually “a real photographer” or I’m not as good as what they’re seeing in wedding magazines, or boudoir shoots from other photographers… that they’re going to drop me. And it’s never been my client saying that I’m not doing a good job!!! I haven’t had an unhappy client yet. Even so, I always am afraid that they’re gonna realize I’m just some sort of fraud who wishes they were a photographer, and I’ve struggled with this for few years now. But listening to make your break has honestly lit a fire up under me that I don’t think anyone else has ever been able to do. Jai Long really aligns with the kind of person I am. I believe in kindness and love and helping each other out, I don’t believe in gatekeeping I believe in paying it forward and passing along my knowledge so I can help the industry grow and help people who may not have as much experience as me (which isn’t even much) feel like somebody cares enough to help them without expecting anything in return. if you are reading this, Jai Long… Thank you so much. I am preparing myself financially to sign up for your course and join the community because I know I’ll be surrounded by like-minded people who can really encourage me and vice versa. Within the first episode I was hooked. I am a commercial photographer and the way he communicates about elevating your business (and yourself) just makes sense. It’s about being there. It’s about being human. It’s about serving in the most aligned way possible for your people. I can’t wait to dive it more!

I started listening to this podcast when my husband and I started as a couple model, modeling for content days, retreats and styled sessions and so much of what Jai goes over not only applies to business/personal branding but also applies to life. Now my husband and I are wedding photographers + models and this podcast is even more vital not just for the nuggets but to help keep our blinders on to keep going (especially being in the newest stages of our biz) and keep innovating in us, our skills and brand. Like Jai keep saying .. it’s all about showing up .. that is one of the main things I learn from Jai .. his ability to show up .. to record an episode, to interview a talented guest.. showing up and showing up consistently is in my personal opinion is one of the hardest things to do .. it requires discipline. And discipline separates the Man/Woman from the Boys/Girls… I was first introduced to Jai ‘s podcast years and the amount of knowledge this individual shared with the world is astounding ! I know that i’m a good photographer but being in a photography business you can’t just be a “good photographer” but also have to be a “good businessman” as well. On the day that everything did NOT line up. There was his podcast popped up. I did not expect much but omggg after I started listening, I can’t stop. Hey Jai, just wanted to say I love your podcast, please keep doing this because your podcast is completely different from everything else I’ve seen. Love your passion for impacting people’s lives on a deeper level (and I could especially feel that when listening to the Unrealistic workshop gossip). I found you when you were selling the $7 online workshop (forgot the name), then subscribed to the podcast, then attended the Unrealistic workshop online, and already started implementing so much of that. And I’ve seen the results - I’m not new to photography (started 2017) but I’ve only been in the United States for 1,5 years (from that, one year so far in wedding photography - my first client was a family session in fall 2022), now I’m booking 5+k weddings, some of them out of state work, my clients trust me, love the photos, photographers keep asking things and want to learn, which for me being so new to the country, is already a big success. My husband keeps telling me every month - “hey, you made more than my 9-5 this month” and that he will be a stay-at-home dad 🤣🤣🤣 Your passion for educating and connecting people truly makes a difference. When I started my business almost exactly a year ago I was so focused on learning my systems and editing education that I never considered how important the actual business side would be. Now that I am current with Jai’s podcast and have listened through from the beginning I have completely changed my business. The way you operate your business and your mindset behind your business is as important as the photos you deliver.
