    Helped during a dark time…
I found Kat’s podcast while searching for a way to understand and move through a toxic work situation I was experiencing a couple seasons ago. For context, I’m a GenXer and had been seeing a very expensive therapist at the time. My therapist was helpful, but this topic was too complex and I was kind of spinning wheels. The episode she had on how to move through/process a toxic work environment with a narcissist is bar none the best advice I have heard on the topic. I had listened to no joke 100’s of hours on the topic because it was such foreign territory for me and I knew something wasn’t right with this work experience I had with a client of mine. Kat’s episode and the WeWork episode with Dr. Ramani I have listened to and shared probably a dozen times or more. She said something no other expert on the topic of workplace narcissism had said - and the entire experience I had came into sharp focus for me and I started my journey to health. I have shared that episode with other colleagues and they found the same relief. We are not crazy - the chaos and weird behavior is on purpose to make us feel off balance and doubt ourselves as a power and control mechanism. The thing she said that I had never heard and applied 1000 percent to my case was how toxic covert narcissists will do things like over pay you to gain control! I had never heard that before and it was like so many lightbulbs turned on so many puzzle pieces suddenly fell into place and I started to see my situation in a whole new light. Since then I’ve tuned into her podcast and truly look forward to the episodes each week. Couch Talks are great too. Little moments of calm in my week. I highly recommend this podcast for any phase of life! Kat has a warm yet no nonsense way of helping untangle very complex emotions and situations. She has a way with language too- the right words said in a new way. Gold! YOU NEED THIS PODCAST! 😀

    Maybe best for new therapists
I really wanted to like this but the upspeak was distracting, and the hosts’ relative newness as therapists made the content pretty unremarkable.

    Amazing
No matter where you are on your mental health journey, this podcast is for you. Kat is relatable, funny, and passionate about what she does. She brings in great guests, but even her solo episodes are so insightful. Give this a listen! You won’t regret it.

    Weekly Must Listen!
I’m a weekly listener of 4 months! I was introduced to you need therapy through Amy Brown’s podcast. I really enjoyed hearing Amy and Kat chat like they were some of my girlfriends having coffee in my kitchen, so when I heard Kat mention her own podcast, I was eager to give it a listen. I also began my own personal therapy journey this year to begin addressing several topics in my life and so I appreciate hearing from the therapists perspective, but also I feel like Kat is just like another friend, talking to us, her friends, honestly about all sorts of things. I also really appreciate the variety that she brings to the show. Big fan!!!

Sneaky sneaky (in a good way!)
I love Kat’s podcast. Her way of explaining things helps me with a lot of different topics. Even when (by reading the title of an episode) I don’t think the episode will apply to me, I’ll still find a nugget or two of something that helps out. Love her podcast! Have for years!

Kat is truly who everyone wants in a friend and/or a therapist! So real, honest, authentic, and relatable. As a masters student in the CMHC field and a woman who has struggled with body image… her insight and thoughts have been so huge for me! Also her laugh is completely contagious😆 every time she laughs at herself it makes me laugh along with her. Definitely recommend! I can’t wait for her episodes every week!

    Just some advice …
I really appreciate the podcast, but there are a few things that bother me. I don’t like when you swear - you don’t do it often, but when you do, it really turns me off. Also, the sound on the podcast is a problem sometimes. Your part is fine, but then I can barely hear your guests, even if I have the volume all the way up. Thank you for all that you do! I LOVE when Amy Brown is a guest - she is my fav! :)

A Bright Spot in My Day
Kat is incredibly personable and knowledgeable. Her enthusiasm for sharing information and insights on mental health and the therapeutic process comes through clearly. She’s the therapist we all wish we could sit across from, and the friendly, caring, reassuring voice that reaches her listeners’ hearts and minds each episode.

    Happy Anniversary!
Yesterday I went back to the beginning and listened to Episode #2. You were so excited for the new year and said “Yay for 2020!” It’s amazing how different that year turned out to be. Love this podcast! Let’s hope 2022 is cooperative!

    Helped Me Start Therapy
I first heard Kat on Amy Brown’s Podcast and said “wow I would consider therapy if it was with someone like her”. This led to me eventually starting therapy. Great podcast that helps reinforce/elaborate the work I’m doing in actual therapy (since Kat reminds us all the time this podcast isn’t therapy 😉).

    Helpful and relatable
I love how even if the topic doesn’t seem to apply to me, Kat somehow expands her answer to be helpful to everyone.

    💖💖💖
I love this podcast! It is teaching me so much. I do have a history of going to counseling. I feel like this podcast helps me continue to put what I learned there to work. I listen to you almost daily, sometimes multiple times a day! 😄 Thank you for what you do Kat! The episode about sex trafficking has been so educational. It’s heartbreaking but a very interesting topic to discuss. I love how Holly said her sobriety was a gift from God, but she had to continue the work herself afterwards to maintain it. It was so powerful to hear!!

    Amazing resource !
This is a really great podcast. Kat touches on subjects that are relative to this time period and subjects others may be too afraid to express their opinion on. She’s open and honest but also respectable to everyone’s point of view. I especially loved her grief episode with Amy Brown.

This conversation on grief was so comforting (if that’s allowed to be a thing). Thank you Radio Amy for sharing your insights on grief and grieving. I love that I have permission to carry my grief in a backpack and I don’t have to stress about not being able to leave it on the curb❤️❤️

    A better understanding about grief
This episode is fantastic! I learned so much about the different stages of grief, that I can now accept my feelings about a grief issue are OK to have. Thank you Kat and Amy for your openness and frank discussion on grief!

    My fav podcast 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I stumbled upon this podcast in March, I was considering therapy, but after listening to the episode on addiction, I knew that I needed to get in gear and find a therapist. I have learned so much through this podcast and now through my own mental health journey. It’s such a great listen and the honest and raw conversations are so touching. Also, I love how my order came with handwritten note from Kat 🥰😭 I legit teared up. I have it hanging in my mediation space and I constantly repeat “I’m gonna be ok” Kat, thank you.

My favorite podcast! Sometimes I’m so sad when I listen and the podcast is not super long. But it’s perfect! I love all the episodes! I love how Kat talks with all of her guests. She’s never afraid to ask a question you hope she will ask. I look forward each week to listening! Thank you Kat for being so amazing! Please do not stop!

    Relatable and Real
I found this Podcast via 4 Things with Amy. Since discovering it about a week ago, I have listened to several episodes and have had many lightbulb moments. I’ve also shared it with my loved ones and we have had some thought provoking conversations thanks to some of the harder topics this podcast brings to the light. Thank you!!

    Forced Forgiveness
This podcast has brought be so much healing and strength over the past year. I finally started therapy because of the constant advice of getting my Own therapist that this show is to help fill in not to be used as a therapy session. I appreciate how real and honest you are. You have helped me understand many hard things I deal with daily. Today’s podcast Forced Forgiveness was so helpful. I have suffered every type of abuse but physical. As I have worked on my healing I feel I HAVE to forgive others for the pain they caused me even though they NEVER asked for It or even apologized. Thank you for saying I don’t! Thank you for helping me see that’s it’s ok to not forgive until I am truly ready. I am grateful you mentioned Jesus and God in this because as a Christian woman I get stuck sometimes in the “doing the right thing” however I am doing the right thing for me and I see that now. God and Christ will guide me through this trial in my life and will help me along the way. Thank you so much for helping me be strong enough this past year to finally open my mouth and ask for help from a therapist and start unpacking my pain and hurt. I literally couldn’t have done it without your soft gentle push.

    Life Changing
Although I only found this podcast through an Amy Brown 4 Things with Kat podcast 3 months ago, I’m hooked!! I have gone back to Kat’s 1st episode of You Need Therapy, so that I can catch up, and I’ve never been disappointed. SHE IS 💯AUTHENTIC yet super AMAZZZING!! The only downside is that I can’t multitask while I’m listening because Taking notes is a must!!🥰🥰🥰

    Listen to this.
As a therapist in training and a recipient of therapy, I can attest that Kat gives realistic and attainable suggestions on her podcast. She is bubbly, positive and her energy comes through the screen/waves/radio(?). Not sure how to state it in podcast form! Ha. Anyways. I love that she covers a wide range of topics because if I can’t apply it to my own life, it’s relatable to my field practice or to apply to my thoughts on friend/family around me. Thanks Kat!
