    My new go to
What a great podcast. Having studied evolutionary biology as an undergrad and being a fairly avid hiker who is visually fascinated by geological phenomena I come across, this podcast is right up my alley. The host is easy to listen to, and sometimes unintentionally (I think) hilarious. Currently 10 episodes in and each one gets better. Thank you to the host for providing the general public with this super interesting and easy to absorb information. It’s really an awesome thing to do for society.

I love science and scientific thinking
Thanks Nick! I love all of your content. These podcast episodes are great additions to your various video series. I really appreciate your willingness to admit what you don’t know, and to then “think out loud” about the accumulating evidence and where it may lead. This is what good scientists do, and I think you are demonstrating how scientific knowledge grows by gradual “accretion” of new data onto older knowledge. New theories always have to explain the old data as well as the new data. Thank you so much

Great supplement to the YouTube videos.
I especially enjoyed the episodes replicating your lab presentations. Hope you’ll do more. Anyone interested in geology would greatly benefit from listening.

    Thank you!
I’ve recently been just reading a lot of Wikipedia articles on plate tectonics and mountains and canyons and geologic eras and all types of things and I wanted to see if anyone had made a podcast about geology. I’ve only listened to the first episode so far, but I love your enthusiasm and clear love for your field. I’m excited to continue learning from you!

    Loving it
So well made! Each episode is rich but digestible. The podcaster is great at making complicated ideas and new concepts and terms clear.

    We love you back, Nick!
When I want to relax, learn some big geology, and get”grounded” (pun intended) I fire up the Nic Zentner podcast. Nick’s calm excitement, congeniality and example of competent yet humble pursuit of science pulls us into this exciting world of purposeful imagination. Nick is up to the challenge of using words to draw pictures, and this medium brings the stories of how this big ball of rock has been shaped directly into our heads with an intimacy that doesn’t come with a video. We hope you can keep up these little companions that we can take along and listen to, keeping our brains excited as our hands go about the mundane tasks of daily life!
