    Just discovered, absolutely in love
I have binged a handful of episodes after discovering your podcast yesterday. Margaret, I instantly adore you and all your plethora of insights and experience. What a find. I will be recommending you widely. Keep up the incredible, thoughtful discussions. You tap into a depth on these topics that is rare to come by, particularly with your medical episodes.

    Good but more form maybe
I think this is an excellent podcast but I can tell when a host has an outline and doesn’t follow or simply have no outline. I can also tell when the host has done some research and can ask more pertinent questions and make it more interesting.

    Nice balance
Nice balance of honest gloom and hopeful calls to action.

    3 stars
This is a great show, w well informed and thoughtful insights. However, I gave it 3 stars because I CANNOT get past the valley girl talk and the use of the word LIKE in every sentence. I can’t listen to it, which is unfortunate because I think this could be a good show. Good luck.

    Practical and inclusive
Practical advice for everyone to take NOW, because you never know when an emergency will hit. Also ideas to increase community building, because we need to save ourselves.

    This show is just great.
A lot of dumb dumbs have podcasts where they claim the world is dying and whine about not being able to decide between the old handsy uncle or the old angry spray tan uncle. This podcast posits that our world is dying and as Kurt says, so it goes. After the dying bit comes the next turn of the wheel, the rebuilding. This show has lots of great practical advice about that. Such as, pickles, firearm safety and getting along with your neighbors.

    my favorite podcast of all-time
All of the hosts are brilliant, talented, and have great voices that I enjoy listening to throughout my day. The topics covered are excellent, I find myself taking notes and re-listening to episodes all the time. This podcast genuinely has been a light in the dark for me these past few years and it’s changed my life in the best ways possible. Endlessly grateful & will always be one of their biggest fans!!!!

    Also, love the audio work
Truly cannot thank everyone who has been involved in this podcast enough. Thank you for putting this thoughtful process out into the world, and reaching so many of us to share and process in our own time. One of my favorite things to do is share this podcast with people, and talk to them about some of the content/collaborate on these thoughts in our own ways.

    Wonderfully informative
I walk away with something new to think about every episode. It’s a joy to listen to. The broad range of life experience that Margaret, and her guests, bring to the table is unique and enriches my perspective of life and activism. What I appreciate the most is how actionable the information and advice is. It’s worth a listen. If one topic doesn’t grab you try another! There’s something that will speak to you if you take the time to find it. Love this podcast!!!

    I learned something today
I take away some new knowledge with each show. Margaret’s enthusiasm is catching and just like her I want to be able to master many of these subjects. Gonna try making my own sourdough!

    Simply the best
One of only maybe 3 podcasts I listen to religiously. Can’t get enough. Love Margaret, love this show, 100/10

    Thank you Margaret!
I love this show, I’ve listened to several episodes multiple times, including the ones on suburban organizing, mental health first aid, and arming trans women. It’s been a gift to learn and ground my understanding and visions for the world with the help of your thoughtful conversations <3

    Thank you!
I’m learning so much. Thank you! Just listened to the masks and goggles episode. For tear gas at the protests in Chile 2019/2020 people sprayed water with baking soda from spray bottles in eachothers faces to neutralize the acids in the gas. Anecdotally it totally made things better.

I binge-listened to Margaret’s podcasts after reading her very recent Twitter thread on anarchism (partially a response to the wretched HBO series on ancaps, an oxymoron extraordinare.) I am so starved for a solutions-oriented and wide-net anarchist perspective. Plus her guests are interesting; her interviews are thoughtful, insightful, practical, even fun. There are episodes on suburban life and firearms training that I did not think would interest me, as I’m more into health care, herbal medicine, and prepping. I was wrong. Thank you, Margaret! Just joined Patreon… only to support you at Strangers in a Tangled Wilderness.

    Thoughtful discussions
I really appreciate this particular podcast because the host is clear about their opinions and their questions, and engages their interviewees in respectful, thoughtful, and sometimes fun dialogues. The host researches their subjects well, and admits when they are uncertain about a topic and invites others with more expertise to come on and share their own. Fewer asides and inside jokes than their newer podcast - this is a favorite for the focus on info sharing.

    Highly informed, highly informal
My kind of show format! Margaret has surprisingly candid conversations on such deeply important and timely topics.
  • JosiHears
    Practical, interesting and important
Approaches important conversations in a way that is interesting and practical. I particularly appreciated the recent episode on suburban organizing. This suburbanite would love that to become a series!

Mutual Aid Means I Love You
Great podcast for the anarchist wanting to build a better world, one step at a time.
  • Nadaz, voice of the host
    Good podcast
While I don’t agree with the host’s political views, this is a sensible prepper podcast

    Thank you
I’m so incredibly grateful for this podcast. It makes preparedness feel more accessible to me, a person with less means who has always perceived prepping as kind of a right-wing nut job thing. The podcast is informative and despite it all maintains a hopeful tone. Also, Killjoy is an absolutely adorable nerd and it’s delightful :)

    Spectacular
This is a spectacular and informative podcast that has not only provided me significant amounts of knowledge, but also laughter! Killjoy and their guests are so knowledgeable and informative, providing reasonable and tactical advice. Highly suggest for everyone!
  • KateMotz
    Useful and delightful
I wouldn’t call myself a preppier by any stretch, but this podcast has helped me figure out what I do and don’t actually need in terms of emergency preparedness. I love that it’s all about mutual aid, not rugged individualism. Super entertaining conversations too.
  • swampcult
    My new favorite podcast
Love all the topics and guests. I can relate to you on so many levels and all the things you discuss are so interesting. ❤️
  • Z-through-A
    Practical, applicable, relevant, interesting
One of the best podcasts I’m listening to these days - every episode is chock full of useful information, shared by folks with values of mutual aid, radical accessibility, DIY culture, and interdependence. I love Margaret’s approach and the interviewees are consistently incredible.

    awesome info
I really enjoy listening to Margaret go off on her theory tangents. I found this show while listening to We Will Remember Freedom- another great podcast by Margaret. The guests are relevant and very knowledgeable, every time I listen I feel like I gain a new hobby (like i don’t have enough already). Anyway, great show, love every episode so far!

    Great
One of my favorite podcasts. Puts preparedness in a community setting instead of individual stockpiling/ hoarding. Gives me hope.

    Lost opportunity
This could have been a great topic and podcast had the author taken off his blue lens. The only scenario he paints is a civil war that is initiated by the right wing. Antifa to the author are just peaceful protesters who could never be instigators. That’s the job of the proud boys. But he’s proud to announce he’s got his assault rifles as a threat to the right who in his world can’t wait to go to war.

    Amazing show, highly recommend
Very insightful podcast with a wide variety of interesting subjects and guests. Keep up the good work Margaret. Must listen for anyone who leans toward the anarchist, anti capitalist, or prepper ideology.
  • BlackBlueSea
    Empowering show.
Based on the first two episodes I’m looking forward to what this show will bring to the table. Interviews with knowledgeable and interesting guests with a “different” take on prepping and disaster preparedness. I’d prefer we work together to solve our problems, not hide in bunkers. This show brings that much need perspective to the discussion.
